🇫🇷 Bonjour! I'm Jennifer, your French teacher in the South of France. I'm just like you! I didn't grow up speaking French either. I get how tough it can be to learn French from scratch, so I've designed my course specifically for people like us who are learning on their own. When you learn French with me, you'll be learning from someone who's been right where you are now!
Since English is my first language, I know exactly what challenges you'll encounter while learning French. I understand those little tricky bits that can trip you up, and I'm great at explaining complex grammar in a way that English speakers can easily understand.
🌟 I'm happy to introduce you to my French Course for Self-Learners, which is tailored to accommodate learners at all levels, from beginners to advanced. You'll find an extensive collection of over 350 learning resources in this course, covering the full range of proficiency levels, starting from A1 (beginner) up to B2 (autonomous).
🌟 In my French course, I have carefully curated a variety of resources to ensure an enriching learning experience for you. Each lesson is accompanied by engaging video and/or audio lessons, complete with helpful lesson guides. You will also have access to supplementary materials that not only complement the lessons but also provide additional practice opportunities, detailed explanations, and practical examples.
🌟 To monitor your progress and reinforce your understanding of the material, the course includes numerous sets of practice cards and quizzes. These resources are designed to assist you in honing your grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
🌟 Expanding your vocabulary is a crucial aspect of language learning, and that's why my French Course for Self-Learners includes themed vocabulary lists. These lists are centered around specific topics or contexts, enabling you to acquire new words and phrases relevant to a wide range of areas of interest.
🌟 With thousands of learners worldwide who have chosen to embark on their French learning journey with me, you can rest assured that my experience and unique teaching approach will benefit you too.

I hate “dont” so much!! Lol... I’ve had the toughest time trying to understand it. I still need to practice more but you definitely helped me understand this topic A LOT better. Thank you so much!

I studied in France twice ....and it wasn't until I watched Jennifer explain it that I finally understood. I'm all about immersion ...but with things extremely complicated, I need someone who understands the difference between French and English.

Merci beacoup Madame. I'm not gonna try to say this in french because I'm tired- This is my second time through French. I did 4 years in public school, and this is the first college french class I've stuck with (the summer level 1 teacher didn't seem to know how any of the technology worked, nor did she seem to know how to teach despite being a native french speaker) The problem is that my current teacher basically leaves us to teach ourselves with the free (and not fabulous) textbook. I've found some of the practice questions to have mixed answers (some were same format with different conjugations like il/elle with a tu conjugation, and even with the conjugation chart right there i couldn't make sense of it.) The point is- I've learned a lot of this already but 2 years later it seems a lot harder to learn, and I've been in tears feeling like this class is futile, but your video made more sense than both the teacher and the textbook. I got all the examples right and I immediately subscribed. To be honest, I hadn't even thought to go to youtube for help until my therapist suggested it, but you are honestly a God-send for me. Thank you so much.

You cant just learn a language by reading a textbook unfortunately the school system sucks and has very unrealistic standards you have to practice talking with someone who knows the language everyday. I hope you have realized this by now and stop being harsh on yourself.

Great video! Just a small thing, past participles in the passé composé only have to agree with the pronoun if the auxiliary verb is . In this logic, since the auxiliary verb for the past participle is , not , would be incorrect. Timestamp: 12:00.

I'm a bit confused. 'la dame' in 'C'est la dame dont je t'ai parle' is not preceded by 'de'..? The previous sentence has 'de' but surely this can't affect the grammar of a subsequent sentence..?

    •  5 років тому +1

Hi Paul, yes... the DE in the previous sentence does affect the subsequent sentence. Je t’ai parlé DE cette dame. So.... C’est la dame DONT je t’ai parlé.

11:29 since "du" is used in "du film", the answer could be "dont" as well right?

    •  5 років тому +1

No, because it's a moment in time. When you use "dont" you won't actually see "du" in the sentence since it's replaced by the relative pronoun.

I understood the lesson completely, but the problems are: 1. when it comes to exercises, I have no idea of definition of words. I believe it might be a good idea if the trainer does interpret the sentences before asking the candidates to do the exercise. 2. Talking about difference between "quand and ou" I think I needed an example to get the message in a better way.
