I'm an ex-nurse, and I'm not the only person that thought my entire program was made up of "fluff courses and busy-work". I also witnessed massive amounts of corruption with both private nursing businesses and provincial health authority nurses blatantly ignoring regulations to save money and time, then covering that up with deception. All of which put countless very vulnerable patients at risk. And I've seen NPs working in Medi-spas that couldn't even pronounce the chemical name of the product they were using and advising on. Too many nurses think they can diagnose because the nursing field has designed "nursing diagnoses" in order to appear more academic. An example of a nursing diagnosis is "imbalanced energy field".
I'm so thrilled to hear you put out another book!

meanwhile doctors push questionable vaccines and other drugs onto patients that cause long term side effects without a care in the world. Do you really think most doctors know all of the drug interactions with everything they prescribe and aren't driven by greed, profits, and corruption? Did you not watch the documentaries about the opioid epidemic and how many MDs directly contributed to it? I've worked in the ER and a lot of MDs are clueless and are corporate hospital drones.

These practitioners don't know what they don't know.

I support you 100%. Ex NP here. And not because I did anything wrong or had to quit. I just realized early on that. I was not trained properly. I also had to realize even though I went to a a brick and mortar school of nursing that did not make a difference…definitely not sufficient to do my job and advocate for the patient. Or make an informed diagnosis and treatment plan.

I also wish to add that I am intelligent. I’ve been a nurse for almost 30 years ICU, cardiac , trauma, ED etc ..I graduated with my BSN summa cum laude and with my masters magna cum laude so I’m not unintelligent or had issues being trained or learning. There were just really incompetent programs only concerned with churning out NP’s for the $$

Thanks for this. I’ve looked at going back. I’ve been wondering if great nurses with solid experience still come out unprepared and have wanted to hear from NP’s directly. This is scary.

NPs in MEDSPA is not doing surgery. No clear concept. Look what the NPs are doing. Dermatologists are doing this. Did the dermatologist have surgery training?
