Gary Yourofsky, vegan animal liberation activist, has given over 2500 lectures to more than 60,000 people at 180 schools in 30 states and several Israeli cities/schools. His lecture has been translated into more than 30 languages for over 7 million UA-cam hits. Activists in Israel created the Hebrew website GARY-TV and convinced two major vegan companies to put that site's URL directly on their packages! Gary has been arrested numerous times for his activist work, and has been banned from 5 countries.
Gary lectured at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, CA and Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and then caught up with HappyCow's Ken Spector for an interview.

This guy is great. Nothing but total RESPECT. He has completely changed my take on veganism. I used to be in it just for the health...and fell off more than a few times. But now, after seeing a few videos of the inside of slaughterhouse...and being moved to tears....now....I'm VEGAN forever. It's a moral imperative. It's in my heart and soul now. If you don't have empathy for the way animals are treated today you must a f'in serial killer.
+David Hutchinson Absolutely agree. To me, the rules are simple: Rule no. 1:It is unjustifiable to reduce living beings to units of productions - to mere objects. Rule no. 2: It's at the core of moral, ethical life to avoid suffering where possible. And since human body has zero need for animal protein, we absolutely have the possibility to avoid this particular area of cruelty. As Colleen Patrick-Goudreau said: "What does it say about us, that when we have the possibility to avoid suffering, we choose to turn the other way... because of convenience, habit, palatal pleasure...?" That's why I'm an abolitionist, not just welfarist... Thank you for letting the dots connect in your head.

+Andy Vegan Had as a guest speaker for my philosophy class and let me tell you this guy ain't all that nice in person. He was getting so angry at the end of the speech he went as far as throwing a bible across the room when he was losing an argument with one of the fellow students, and said a derogatory remark to an African woman.

I love Gary, he is my hero! It was his speech that had me, my husband, and my mother go vegan, I wish everyone would watch it! xo
He is the reason I went vegan as well and I have never been happier! Though my family is a lost cause, but they are honest to why. My father told me (he is 51 years old) he said: I am sorry son but I am too lazy to go vegan but I will try to keep meat to a minimum for your sake. I told him that It is not for my sake it it for the animals, but if he does it for me he does it for the animals as well. Honesty is key, as trying to give a reason why to eat the meat and dairy is just futile since we do not need it.
Yeh this guy is amazing. A perfect example of someone who is selfless and caring. Wish I had the cash to help fund him for life!

I am starting Veganism this month, not because of myself but because I love animals, and seeing your videos make me realized how cruel I was.
Thanx for making that decision. It is not completely easy, but I always tell myself that having to constantly watch for vegan products, reading the labels and avoiding all the tons of animal products animal industry shove down our throat is still nothing compared to what the animals have to endure every second of their miserable life. Making a substantial change is always scary and more or less difficult in the beginning. But once you discover all that delicious vegan food, I'm sure you'll be surprized how great you'll feel and how much you'll enjoy all that vegan food.... Anyway, good luck and thanx once again for the decision not to be selfish.

+Carlos Ferreira Just keep it cheap and simple. Think of the main vegan food groups: Fruits, veggies, nuts, lentils, beans, flour, rice, potatoe, seeds, herbs, spices. And then try to turn these products into viable recipes you can actually enjoy (like vegan pizza, vegan cakes, salads, rice withs some beans and crispy veggies, vegan pancakes, pasta with some tomatoe souce or veggies, fruit juices, smoothies, ... most those things are quite cheap. Other than that, if you need some more inspiration, just recently i discovered some great youtube channels offering amazing and easy recipes: The Vegan Corner (check out f.e. their vegan tiramissu), and Cheap Lazy Vegan. Have fun and bon appetit :-)
Gary Yourofsky is truly my idol,there's no other animal rights advocates out there that in my opinion could captures an audience or hearing him speaking without agrees with him 150% literally,He's a beautiful and genuinely human being.I though like god ware shining the light upon him to let him does the things he does!

I'm glad Gary gets angry. Most vegans are perceived as the "new hippies", not only that it gets annoying, it also makes it seem like being a vegan equals being weak.

I especially hate when "vegan" people tell me to back off when I go on a rant about meat-eaters because "eating meat is a peerrssonal CHOIIIICE!!! Ugh Krystyna eating meat doesn't make someone a bad peerrrsooonn!!!" Those people aren't real vegans. It makes me SO ANGRY! I want to shove a Gary into their face and then punch them in the head LOL. So maybe "preaching to the choir" is a GOOD thing, as many people don't seem to understand the true meaning of veganism. 😔

The other day I eat meat, it wasn't really too much, was like 100g or little more, cubes, was like hammering my body... everytime I do eat meat from a long time I do not, that time will make me wanna forget the next time I will want it.

where did you get your info that he´s a vegan?
Authenticity can never be corrupted , I have been told by an animal eating friend "who's right is it to awaken others before they are ready" ? these are the words of an oppressor (NEVER have I heard this come out of the mouth of an Ethical Vegan) because if THEY were on the receiving end of what we put animals through they DESPERATLY would not understand why others (whom possess the FREEDOM to help them) would NOT ONLY stand by philosophising deeply over WHY they should have the right over another's torture, to have this liberty and choice but ALSO actively contributed to the THEIR abuse , rape and killing/murder . I hear others also say nature does things slowly ...uuuhm let me think about that ? this is true in part , this is only half truth because a Volcano is nature, a hurricane is part of nature , a tornado is nature and all of these are the Earths way of communicating with us and NOT in a gentle , slow patient way that we have been consistantly abusing the Earth and all it's inhabitants, there is always and always WILL be a reaction to every action . Gary is RIGHT and I stand behind what he has to say 100% . TRUTH always finds a way to rise, like oil in water.
