I do wonder what the Extreme is going to look like with Normal having Absolute Authority... It kinda feels like an Extreme mechanic as is, but they're likely going to add something to it.

As much as I loved the whole fight's OST, this definitely did have a much weaker phase 2 than Endwalker's final trial by far. Then again, Phase 1 feels almost on par with With Hearts Aligned (Endwalker final main story trial phase 2) for how much of a bop it is, so I don't think Soken really could give us a phase 2 that exceeds phase 1's music without going way, way, way harder than the story justified. Some of the tracks this expansion didn't slap as hard for me, but this one is up there as one of the best for sure, along with the 95 dungeon theme.
I enjoy both phase themes but wished we got em separate in longer formats as well. Though this one was better and still is i wish both had a good longer format at times. At least they posted em separate so i have to thank them
I looked at this fight as a mercy kill. Sphene was a wonderful person, but what she was trying to do was wrong and, even then, unsustainable. In the end, she was a friend, and a real friend would stop you from doing the unthinkable.
Don't forget- she didn't have a choice. Programming always a bitch. Even if the Scions "found another way" she wouldn't be able to accept it as her programming prevents it.
I feel bad that it wasn’t entirely her fault she wanted to do this. Preservation made the Endless Sphene ensure she upheld her duties against her wishes. I think as a living person, she never would have chosen to sacrifice untold millions of lives for her people’s, but we don’t get that. If the situation wasn’t so dire, we’d have been able to find a way to give her a more… ideal end.
