She's so awesome. She's the queen of pop/rock. Her vocals are amazing.

To me, this is the far superior version of this song. Pat's vocals are fantastic--probably my favorite song by her. This is a great album that I bought as a a young teen, solely based on a review written in Billboard Magazine all those years ago. What a treat I was in for!!!
Yup, absolutely wipes the floor with the Smokie original.
Up there with the Bangles' "Hazy Shade" and March Violet's "Miss Amanda Jones" as covers that are better than the original.
This is one of the very few song that excels the original from Smokie. It never disappoint the listeners.

This is another underrated song. Like My Clone Sleeps Alone, No you don't. In fact, Pat's Albums are excellent. From beginning to end.

The best night of my entire life had this song playing in the background. We were both 15 and gave ourselves to one another. Over and over to this song on repeat. Now every time I hear it I am thrust back to that long summer night when she and I became intertwined for a lifetime in that one magical night. My God, where did the years go.

This is a great song. Smokie's original version is a classic. Patricia's great pipes and Neil's sublime guitar playing create a very different version that is as compelling as the original.
Still my favorite Pat Benatar album. Less slick than later productions, but more raw and real. Love this Smokie cover.

Hats off to the writers of this song!!! This is the sexiest tune I've ever heard in my life! I prefer a man singing this ,though,as it's really man's song really.It's the best song in this album,the next best was the title tune " in the heat of the night"( actually neck to neck) ,then " we live for love" , then " heatbreaker". Definitely the best song amongth her songs." Precious time" was another cool tune.
The original was by Smokie which had Chris Norman on lead vocals.

When her 1st album was new I tagged along with a friend to buy or check out some stereo speakers from an ad, we arrived at some house, went in to check out the speakers and the guy had this LP on the turntable to showcase the speakers, he then dropped the needle on this song , cranked it up ,This song was a deep album cut wasn't played on the FM dial so I never heard it before that day and WOW it blew my mind and yea we took the speakers.

This was actually the first single from her debut album, but it failed to chart.
"Heartbreaker" and "We Live for Love" were the 2nd & 3rd singles from the album, respectively.
And I think this is actually the best of the three songs. Benatar killed this track! So underrated!

As much as I like Pat, this is simply nowhere near as good as the Smokie original, which puts a stronger emphasis on melody and emotion. No wonder this wasn't a hit, it's simply less catchy than Smokie's version.
