- Trailblazing female rocker Pat Benatar along with producer/songwriter Linda Perry produced a new song, “Shine”, an anthem and rallying cry for women’s rights to accompany the Women’s March on Washington on January 21st. Joining them on the production of the song is producer, guitarist, songwriter, NEIL GIRALDO, a lifelong advocate for women’s rights and creator of the Benatar/Giraldo sound. Proceeds from the song will go to the B.A. Rudolph Foundation supporting women pursuing careers in public service and government.

I get chills when I read the comments from people who absolutely understand how I feel about Pat... so glad to know that I'm not the only one silently applauding her and Neil and all they have contributed to music... their songs are part of my life's soundtrack... glad to know they will finally be in the RRHOF.... but, even if they weren't... there is NO denying their impact. Kudos to Linda Perry for getting involved in this.
My granddaughter loves pat & Neil . She's 2 months old. This is her favorite song.

Just Amazing!
Benatar is like a fine wine and just gets better with age. Her music over her career developed more depth, took better risks and is so underrated. Two of my favorite LP’s are the jazz LP True Love and Innamorata with Stawberry Wine, River of Love, and In These Times are amazing. She was a trained opera singer and she also has some songs prior to her band with her husband came together that are awesome. I did not enjoy those years where she was pop rock but that was the mid to late ‘80’s sound. Crimes of Passion is still one of the most complete rock LPs of it’s time. Every damn song is good. From classics like You Better Run and Treat Me Right to the underrated Out of Touch, Never Wanna Leave You and Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights. Still songs like Painted Desert, If You Think You Know How to Love Me, and Precious Time will always be my favorites. She still rocks!!

I don't remember hearing this song until yesterday (Aug. 15 20240
on aug 13 2025 my husband fell, hit his head on a marble ledge.. and is now in trauma ICU with the aftermath of a brain bleed that basically has taken out the left half of his frontal lobe.
Never anticipating that this was a possibility.. our separate bank/investment accounts become problematic for me as I move forward keeping the bills paid, etc...
Fortunately, we have twin CADILLAC medicare supplements that will pay for just about any care that is needed
For my part.. music is a healer.
THIS music will remind me of my own CAPABILItieS..
So.. thank you Pat Benatar for making this..

This song was so good. I had been waiting to hear something new from Pat for a very long time. I don't think I knew the reason why she stopped putting out albums but i sure would love it if she came back even to give us a goodbye album. I've loved her for most of my life!!!

If social issues give us anything, it is powerful protest music. NOT surprised to hear this one. Pat Benatar has always taken on issues of the day with courage - think 'Hell is for Children' about child abuse... and it's great to hear her bringing her formidable voice (along with Spyder's killer licks) again.
Happy to hear a new song from Pat Benatar. It's been too long. She's still one of my all time Top 5 rockers. Would love to see her record a new album. Seen her twice in concert in the last few years.
I saw her in Birmingham UK back in 1980 !! ♥
First time I saw her LIVE was in 1983. Seen her 3 more times in the 80's and once in the 90's and the 2 recents concerts. Also a book signing at B&N IN 2011.
Wonderful voice. She still tours with her husband Neil. I saw her at Wolf Trap, Virginia a couple years ago and she was fantastic. They were fantastic as Neil and her band are excellent. She still has that power in her voice!

1st time I heard Pat Benatar was back in the late 70's and she was a rocker who open the doors for female singers and she has always stood on her principles and it is great to hear a new song from Pat and her music style has changed but her message is still the same. This is a GREAT track with a positive message and would love to see a new studio album from her.

Just saw Pat and Neil tonight in Detroit, as an acoustic duo. They are unbelievable!! Pat had lost absolutely nothing over the years, her voice is perfect. You can see the chemistry that they have onstage, just so much love and respect for each other. They played this song and told how it came about. When they mentioned Linda Perry, I think I was the only person who screamed. lol Linda is my favorite singer and songwriter ever, and I'm normally a metal/hard rock listener. Linda just bares her soul in all of her music and that caught my attention many years ago.
