Our Car is Gone! - One step closer to Portugal

- Since we drove into Mexico as a temporary resident with our American plated vehicle, we have to drive it back to the border and get it out of the country before we move to Portugal.
We did not want to deal with that part of the move so we contacted Tim and Jayme, expats living in Lake Chapala, MX, whose business is to take expat cars to the border and with a power of attorney, they can return the TIP (temporary import permit) and then drive it to Texas to sell the car.
If you prefer to nationalize your car, they can assist with that also.
We hope this info helps other expats in the same situation.

Yay!! Sad but necessary and so exciting!! We are 3 yrs out from early retirement and are seriously looking at Portugal for residency… our granddaughters are German so essentially we would like a “pass” to stay in the Shengan zone while enjoying adventures with our granddaughters. I’m excited to see all of your Portugal videos!! Safe travels!!!

From a Portuguese, buy now (this year or the next) a house if you have money, because i know from a friend that is on SEF, from the Consulate General of Portugal in San Francisco has hundreds and hundreds of D7 visa and golden visa applications right now, and is not from USA only, from Brazil and some other places like South Africa.
The real state going to increase with this high demand.
we have been noticing the increase. We have a place for 6 months in Almada, we will continue to search during that time and hopefully get lucky
