- Embarking on a quest for our little piece of paradise, we landed in Dublin, the heart of Ireland, to explore its potential for living or retiring in Ireland. Known for its rich history, vibrant culture, and friendly locals, Dublin presented itself as a contender for our forever home and as a huge tech hub, the city attracts people from around the globe. But does it check all the boxes on our forever home requirement checklist?
Our exploration took us from the historic Chester Beatty Library to the serene St. Stephen's Green, and even into the world of Irish whiskey, giving us a taste of what life in Dublin could offer. We lucked out during our visit and had mostly sunny days, enjoyed lots of Guinness and learned about the history of Ireland at the museums, monuments and Cathedrals.
Beyond the tourist attractions, we delve into the practical aspects of life abroad. From the cost of living and healthcare quality to weather and safety, we've covered everything. Will the first English speaking country we’ve considered meet our criteria for a forever home, or will our search continue?

Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Oh, I went to Depeche Mode in LA in December'23. Love this music
definitely one of our favorites. We are seeing them again in March here in Lisbon 🤙🏼
So glad to see another video from you! I'd love to see videos about your potential property purchase in Spain. Thanks
Thanks so much! 😊 We have a video from Benalmádena, Spain with what we've learned so far about taxes and new construction that we'll be posting in the next couple of months.
It's really nice journey! Interesting bridge. 😊
It really is!
The metro will probably be built regardless of the disruption as it has strong public support
Good to know! The streets are so busy, it will hopefully be worth it to help with the flow of traffic.
@@SeekingParadiseBugs Metrolink is currently in the final stage of planning and due to begin construction sometime around the end of the year or early next year. Dont hold your breath though it will take at least 5 years to build.
They are however expanding the Dart network to the west of the city under a scheme known as Dart+West/Southwest and that will be completed much sooner as its just upgrading existing lines. Thats means a suburban train every 15 minutes so a pretty good service. Worth keeping in mind when buying a property.
@@yermanoffthetellythanks so much for the detailed update!
Great job.
Thanks for watching!! Are you traveling?
Yes. We're in Argentina this month. @@SeekingParadiseBugs
Love Buenos Aires. Have fun!
You had me at "Everyone speaks English," but then you lost me at "So much rain..."" but then you had me at "Super friendly people..." but you lost me at "Everyone loves whiskey..." Hmmmm... A tough one, for sure. Still, a beautiful place worthy of a visit and consideration - maybe just during the Summer though. :)
Lol...it's a great city and Dubliners are delightful. Definitely a great place to visit in summer!
