  • 40 knots, superheal, Thunderer HE, 30k alpha torps, no citadel. Honestly a very challenging ship to play. Turn off brain, shit on enemy, repeat. Zero IQ is not just required to play StV, it is recommended. A modern battleship for the modern battleship playerbase.

      @@hagostaeldmann honestly man keep at it, it's refreshing to hear some truth. Like all the people saying Wisconsin is an "ok" ship🤦 I had a game where I out traded a satsuma because I kept getting almost full salvos on his superstructure at 21-23km (7+hits) and he ended up having to disengage and run away. If you can get in a situation where you can shoot accurately for a long time you can cycle the f key in like 40 seconds and God forbid you get a Halsey proc. Sometimes CC's miss the mark by a country mile with some of their reviews.

      @@Diatribe9 i see too many BB mains and gunboat mains cry about the rare handful of things that annoy their ship types, while torp boats are in a terrible spot and most cruisers suffer in the majority of games

    One of the more fun randoms builds I've found is taking the entire left side of the skill tree, AR, ERE and then either CE or IRPR + 1 point skill, DCM2 + flag. Yes, not nearly as survivable as this full tank build but with the reduced DOT damage from SHAP you only have a 46 second equivalent burn time per fire while getting down to seemingly Republique reload speeds with furious going is addictive.
    The biggest issue with the St V. besides not having a citadel while the entire rest of the line is balanced around having an overmatchable nose AND above water citadel (seriously, if they wanted to prevent nose cits, just put in a hidden bulkhead ala Slava) is that the whole game teaches players to aim for the center of the ship for superstructure and upper belt hits. And while the St. V has a lot of superstructure, if you're aiming for the center of the ship you're hitting the conning tower armor or the Q turret and just setting fires rather than doing actual damage.

    This car actually could have been built (but was abandoned because it would have been too big for Portsmouth or Rosyth) but the funny is that WG added 6,000t over the design (probably revisions to the secondary and AA armament) with absolutely 0 penalty to speed.
    Also 1920s """battlecruiser""" design with 30s turret traverse.
    I looked at the Pan-American battleships earlier. Classic WG "vulnerable" citadel with 18" of armour and the dented Kremlin angle that's also spaced for no reason. Of course nothing matters when you're not even pulling from historical designs or even taking inspiration from designs around that time. They pulled it clean out their ass and made a "brawling" battleship that doesn't take damage at range and only gets cit at close range. At least it only goes 30kts ("only", most BBs that were actually built wish they could have gone 30kts)
    WG's problem is that none of them play their own game and therefore don't have any fucking idea what balance looks like.

      Also any serious game about naval warfare would have some sort of historian/naval engineering consultant. I get it's an acrade game, but having some sort of realism in designs is not exclusive with fun arcade gameplay.

      if this ship had 30knot base speed and slower turrets it's still objectively one of the best bbs in the game. wargaming things.

    I agree with most of what has been said in this review, however, I think you fundamentally misunderstand taking furious on British BBs (no offence meant :)). Your ability in this ship is not mitigating fires, you are just as bad at that as any other non-american/soviet BB. Your strength in Vincent is healing back fire damage, of which im sure you already know is 100% of the damage.
    The best play for Conqueror or Vincent is by far to run Furious becuase the fire damage you are taking is just HP to burn since you are healing all of it back for more DPM/reload. The biggest problem in Vincent is AP full pens of which you can only heal like 60% (i think?) and building for survivability doesnt help that at all since fire damage is never the limiting factor in healing unless you sit in front of a smolensk for an extended period or something stupid.
    When it came out I wouldnt have touched furious on Vincent, but since the buff furious and improved heal party readiness are a must and work tremendously in tandem. There is nothing more scary than a sub 20 second reload Vincent charging at you with a 50k heal at the ready for the small amount of fire damage being taken....
    But honestly just try it becuase I at first was sceptical but now getting regular 200k+ game, literally no point running fire prevention or basics of survivability imo. Just for reference these are my stats in the ship over 55 games as hopefully a bit of validation for my argument (not great not terrible): WR: 65.45% PR: 2 158 DMG: 155 843

      furious is fine on Vincent, but it drastically lowers your survivability. conq is a bit different because the heal is so much more improved. Vincent is so overpowered you can really perform in any playstyle with it tbh

    tbh when I saw the 457 version of the N3 design... I thought it was overkill for a bc line, I'd have preferred the t9 at t10 with something else at t9.

    God i hope this series continue even when he's finished with BBs. Edit: welp he said he would do other classes lol.
    Also always found it funny how the "squishy" BBs are most of the time super tanky, and the "tanky" BBs (like the germans) are the easiest to 20k consistently lol.

    Ah yes, the poster child of modern battleship design, the common ancestor we trace the lineage to, St-fucking-Vincent, long have we awaited.
    I think if you put this ship in the hands of a monkey it could probably average 100k minimum because its just that fucking easy to play. The nerfs to it were and still are a fucking joke, like the heal CD makes it a bit less comfortable to play sure, I guess instead of being a California king mattress we just have to deal with a normal king size, oh the horror. it definitely makes it not as turbo retarded in a push because it won't cycle heals as fast, heaven forbid we have to activate some brain capacity I suppose.
    One of the main issues that does come with nerfing Vincent is how it affects the rest of its techline, Techline identity is a thing, we saw this when they nerf Vincent they also did changes to Duncan so it could stay in line with Vincent; Duncan now also has a worse heal CD which isnt ideal considering it explodes if you show flat to anything, they did also buff her gun reload but idk how much help that is really. You can't just make drastic changes to the tier 10 of a line, such as removing the engine boost which is a gimmick of the line overall, and then keep the rest of the line the same.
    My suggestion to nerf her has always been: raise the fucking citadel and bring the firechance down to 55%, which is still very good, but its not as demented and it stays within the techline identity. That said, im not against reducing the line's HE "dependency" and further enforcing the AP focus. The citadel armor scheme and the HE are the most individually OP things, the ability to just go flat without worry and to guarantee napalm someone are incredibly strong features on their own; *they're always broken*
    Features like the torps, engine boost, baked-in-acceleration are pretty broken together, but individually aren't so much. The torps are incredibly good, but they're still a situational tool that many times dont get touched. the speed boost by itself is always good but its not overly powerful, same with the baked-in-acceleration, but together is when it gets kinda ridiculous with the acceleration, but I suppose the saving grace there is that its not a 4min engine boost like incomp, bourg or rhode, small mercies.
    Overall, id like to see the more passive HE gameplay made worse in favor of its more aggressive AP gameplay as thats always been the most fun aspect of the ship, being really strong when aggressive, while making her more punishable when misplayed. Id like to see the heal CD be revered, and maybe we could see the torps get nerfed a bit, like reduce the alpha by a few thousand and make the reload a bit longer, they'd still be really potent but Id be harder to "spam" them so its more important for you to actually land the initial launched one, and getting back that heal CD would give her better sustain when playing aggressive.
    Great video as always, really highlighting the problems with the ship and the absurdity of it.

      thanks. wargaming insists on giving just about every brokenly overpowered bb AP that is not very good vs other bb, a trend that is interesting to say the least.

    A ship for braindead people? Well oh boy as much as it would feel nice to live longer I don't see anyone learning how to even play the game from it like there is no real punishment to learn to take to others and improve it's just here now have now nothing can wipe you off the face of the sea ever again.
