This ship is literally a sniper and with that kind of accuracy you can just knock the turrets of whoever is fighting you no one ever thinks to aim for the guns

Reload mod enjoyer here. One thing to keep in mind with reload mod is that you can catch more guys before they dip behind an island, turn in or out, go dark or smoke up. Thats the greatest advantage of this mod since dpm isnt really a thing for BBs. I get your point on range mod and on some BBs its makes sense to slot it. But overall reload mod is just superior imo.

WG tried to powercreep Rupprecht with Karl Johan. But Johan failed to do so. Meanwhile Rupprecht got powercrept by Los Andes. And now Johan gets powercrept by Njord. 🤣

If only the grind to get there wasn't so terribad

As a newer player (September this year), a huge thing this ship has going for it is that it's tech tree! Early on, the grind is real for resources and such, so in your video, you compared this to Ohio and GK, but the research bureau/coal is hard to come by. Also, if Ohio is a better Preussen, you can check it out first. If it feels good, THEN invest the RB points and get yourself an Ohio ('Merica!). Great video as always, Hago. Love them.

Great review! I appreciate the long form and explanation of your thoughts versus other reviewers stating their opinions as facts after only playing a ship for 1 or 2 rounds and not the 10+ that a player needs to make an informed opinion. Also appreciate when you can admit you aim incorrectly causing or the enemy movement causes misses.

I really hope you keep reviewing underrated ships.

I think the bad dispersion myth comes from the double turrets and you sometimes get the wonkiest dispersion that borders on nigh impossible. Anyways another good review keep up the good work!

Wait does range mod improves dispersion in some way? I know that going from stock to upgraded range on researchable ships help that vertical dispertion but range mod?

I beg to differ… this ship is the worst premium BB at T9. It either doesn’t hit anything because of the dispersion or it gives you overpens. If I compare with Georgia that is supposed to have a similar accuracy… Sun Yat Sen is not even close. I rather play Marco Polo than this thing.

Do U plan on reviewing more obscure but seemingly strong T9 premiums? Stuff like Minegumo, Kozma Minin and Tianjin

The shells used to have the alpha damage of a 16in despite being 18in, that's why people complained. Most of the moaning had ceased since they buffed her

Thank you! When I got this thing last week out of a gamba box I looked and saw "inconsistent guns" and "georgia???" And none of it was quite helpful, so I'm glad you're giving a more in depth analysis. The longer (relative to others on youtube) form videos help a lot too.

Dubs only is the biggest reason shes not seen much. But yeah I got Mushy the FXP way back in the day and pulled this ship out of a Santa crate last year and would definitely agree the SYS is the only premium T9 able to hang tough with the Mushy and even be better in a number of circumstances due to Mushy's gimped ASW and OLD Yam turret traverse. I say premium because Los Andes exists and frankly is better than the Liber tier for tier since players are figuring out UU Colombo while I've rolled even dialed in Mushys 1v1 and even more in ranked this season.

Definitely disagree with Wargaming on the Renown, Split, Katsonis, Jinan buffs, and maybe the Belfast 43 buffs are a little excessive, but I think you're way harsh on the rest. For example the Novorossiysk buff is an objectively good one that leans onto the strength of the ship, its not any less valid and in fact I think its a more unique approach rather than just trying to bandaid the weaknesses of every ship.

Champagne's survival rate is a similar case to Slava in that its due to players sitting five thousand miles behind the frontline, not because the ship has inherent good survivability. Champagne's armor is complete ass

i won a bunch of tier 7 prem in santa cont. and have been playing lots of 7 matches.. its been good.. tier 7 might be the new tier 9 way to go.. as SS subs and CV in high tier are a joke lately

Tsurugi from what I'm aware of, Is based on the Number 13 class battleships, although Wargaming made the Tsurugi with only 3 turrets instead of 4. Although it should be Mentioned that Tsurugi's Armor belt IS the Citadel Armor belt like the British Battleships tier 7 and up. Her Torpedoes are Asashio torpedoes that only hurt BB's and CVs with limited firing Angles which when combined with a Fragile Citadel is an easy way to die very fast in Tsurugi.

If ANY ship deserves a buff, it's Vanguard and Idc what anyone says about it.

They might actually be right about the impact thing in champagne since it has roughly the same damage as lenin but 5% less wr or something based on the stats you showed Idea behind MBRB might be because champagne is a sniper style BB so it gives you the chance to punish broadsides even harder. Or maybe they want it to be a glass cannon idk

Another note about the novoro is that it has worse armor than the cesare iirc and its a tuer higher WG was so afraid of making another cesare level ship that they nerfed the novoro six ways from sunday when they made it originally

I, uh, think he might like the buffs to the Italian destroyers. I dunno, kinda hard to tell, but...

I feel like the "When you don't take the 7% accuracy you feel 40% less accurate" comes down to the way the enemy ship is smaller than your dispersion ellipse - therefore any increase to the size of the ellipse makes the ship proportionately even smaller relative to it Which is to say, your dispersion circle grows 7%, but the ship you're targeting doesn't grow 7% If the ship you were targeting is, for example, 3/4 the size of the ellipse, you would expect to miss with about 25% of shells assuming perfectly random dispersion, but now you're missing 32% of shells. So the number of missed shells increases by 28% in this example That's a simplified example and sigma makes it much more complex, but I think the basic point stands that making the ellipse 7% bigger doesn't necessarily mean you only miss 7% more shells

Tsurugi also heals back 33% of citadel damage instead of 10% like normal BBs.

40:20 Tsurugi has Azuma/Yoshino's dispersion which mean...better horizontal dispersion than cruiser under 7km and better vertical dispersion than destroyer under 11km.

Belfast doesn't break the HE pen rule, it's just that there's a system-wide arbitrary jump in pen for 152s that starts at T8. You can look at other lines; Helena at T7 has the same 25mm pen as t7 Belfast, while at t8 Cleveland has the same pen as Belfast '43. Please review Tulsa once they buff it. I like Tulsa, was miffed that Buffalo got buffed in a way that left it in the dust, and am hype for the buff. Split and Gdansk are seeing similar "get a bunch of def ribbons and die" as Katsonis. Katsonis should maybe get the turrets *nerfed* so you can't fire the wing turrets over the centerline without shadowing some of your rear turrets. Basically get rid of that 30° "sweetspot" so people aren't baited into using it (nerfing the angles of the wing turrets and the Y turret so that they 'trade off' at ~45° instead of having overlap). I don't think you can fix the firing angles without remodeling it and/or letting it shoot through it's superstructure. If they buffed the reload while removing the 'sweetspot', that'd probably make potatoes play it better (though them feeding in Split and Gdansk isn't promising) while providing compensation to people who don't suck. The Satsuma change is so you get rewarded for hitting enemies that went dark . Currently you don't get progress for blind fires. It raises the skill floor (you don't get rewarded for misses) but raises the celling as well (you get rewarded for blind fires). I think the guy saying Jacksonville was 'buffed' was (mostly) joking that the reduced range makes it easier to go dark after firing, or stay dark while farming from cover. If you *literally* never fire a shot past 17.2k... it technically is a buff, yeah.

F key potential damage should only be for maintaining your charge i.e. 2k PD = .0001% with meaningful progress only happening through playing the game in scoring MB hits... with things weighted appropriately. So yeah shooting the tank does 'help' in that he's not gonna lose charge like he would if he's playing yacht simulator in A1 or even playing smart and disengaging to get a heal or two... but 99.9% of the bar is him hitting shells... or not.
