Duane Eddy's the best guitarist known to man. I followed him from day one of his career!!! Super fantastic guitarist. No one could beat him. I love the song Rebel Rouser!!!
I love this song by Duane Eddy. He's my all time guitarist. Second guy I love is the drum soloist. I studied drums for 3 years. And we can't forget the Sax player outstanding. This song is phenominal!!!
This is probably my all time favorite record of the many I bought when I was young and collecting every top 45 of the week. It never fails to cheer me up when I am down. I listen to it over and over, and never tire of hearing this peppy, happy song.
@@lescobrandon3047 Ha ha Ken, aam just a wee whippersnappef! Geat we share the same love ov the old times whdn music was played by real people on real instruments.. with no distortion or the dreaded autotune! can you remember watching the turntable bounce up and down on springs when the next Shellac 78 dropped down onto the deck! Magic when I Was 10yrs old.. My Father bought April love.. Pat Boone.. songs by Patti Paige.. THE COTTON SONG by Chas McDevitt, then I got older and played Duane Eddy, Bert Weedon, The Shadows.. who are still my favourites.. 60yrs later!! I salute you Sir for defending your Country, I was a deep shaft coalminer from my school desk at 15 yrs old in 1959. We both risked our lives for our Country. Cheers Buddy!
HIGH PIT WILMA - In my day, we brats were deluged with early Rock And Roll, long before the Roll part was left out. Bill Haley and the Comets, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry... I have a lot of it on digital to keep me back in High School at any time. Later in my first car with my lady of the day, Johnny Mathis on 8 track which ran over and over while we er talked. As for defending my country, well my intended bride cut me out when it was obvious that I would be headed for either Korea or Germany or a new battle zone called Vietnam. Instead, the Army sent me to Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn. I had more defending my country when I spent 34 years in police work.
On this day in 1958 {December 26th} Duane Eddy performed "Cannonball" at the Apollo Theater in Harlem in N.Y.C. At the time the song was at #31 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and thirty-two days earlier on November 24th, 1958 it peaked at #15 {for 1 week} and spent 12 weeks on the Top 100... It reached #22 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart... Was track five of side one on his debut album, 'Have 'Twangy' Guitar Will Travel'... Four other tracks from the album also made the Top 100 chart; "Moovin' N' Groovin" {#72}, "Rebel Rouser" {#6}, "Ramrod" {#27}, and "The Lonely One" {#23}... Duane Eddy will celebrate his 77th birthday in four months on April 26th {2015}...
There are to many " the greatest guitarists" I couldn't chose. Jerry reed, steve vi, roy clark... and on. But the one I enjoy to watch the most is chet atkins. He makes it look so effortless. He's that good.
Actually on this performance it's a Guild Duane Eddy model. Same pickups (De Armond Dyna Sonics) as on the Gretsch he started out with. He's back Gretsch now. Both fine guitars.
Love Dwane Eddy. Made his mark in music history. I remember him from way back in the day. He will never be forgotten.

This is Feel Good music! Good then, good now!

The guy playing the acoustic rhythm guitar is Steve Wariner who is one of the guitar players that Chet Atkins called a certified guitar player.
Great perfomance, it looks Steve Wariner on acoustic guitar
kick ass drum solo!

There are to many " the greatest guitarists" I couldn't chose. Jerry reed, steve vi, roy clark... and on. But the one I enjoy to watch the most is chet atkins. He makes it look so effortless. He's that good.
Vince Gill,Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings,Marty Stuart and Travis Tritt also.
Duane also has always been a big Chet Atkins fan. Duane's 1st hits (on Jamie) were recorded with a Gretsch Chet Atkins 6120
the 14 people that disliked this got no taste

THE RICHEST GUITAR SOUND I HAVE EVER HEARD. CAN ANYONE GET HOLD OF EL RANCHO GRANDE A 45 RPM RECORD BY DUANE EDDY. I WILL BE VERY GREATFUL
I think that is Duane Eddy's son on the drums..Right? Awsome, whoever, and Duane lives on..RWB
Doesn't get much better than cannonball.
Duane eddy the king of Twangy Guitar! I like this version too! But The original is the best!
He was well known as Duane Eddy his Twangy GUITAR and The Rebels.
Mafia 2 brought me here, awesome song !
Ny like is thousandth
Lol
Same here
By the way, as I understand it his son is playing drums
@xrayit Of course.
bon guitariste de ma jeunesse il n'a pas pris une ride than you
@triplex3399 i think the reference you were trying to make is "i want candy"
close enough though
In this in the key G mag scale and rhythm A flat as in the Hal Leonards version
who's on sax?
Dennis Solee on Tenor!!
must not forget the sax man eddys stuff would not be same with out a good sax man
The guitar playing reminds me of Bo Diddley
and don't forget Glen Campbell ,,he made a guitar sing also! So dis Roy Clark
Dick Buelow Glen Campbell is the best of all time, in my opinion
hey that's steve wariner on the acoustic
perfect guitar sound. As I see he uses p90 pickups.
SO what show was this and which tv station put it out?
Nothing finer than the sound of a Gretsch guitar
Actually on this performance it's a Guild Duane Eddy model. Same pickups (De Armond Dyna Sonics) as on the Gretsch he started out with. He's back Gretsch now. Both fine guitars.
@@wesleysedrel2249 thank you for sharing that information that is greatly appreciated
Bobu,,so do I..RWB
Dear xrayit,,meant to ask you is that Duane's son on the drums?
Dick Buelow Yes, he is.
That’s crazy that they managed to get Steve Jobs in the saxophone
@incubusbuckley ya that is it
As Duane Eddy would say it ain't a Thang if it aint got TWANG
actually it does a lot better thank God!
