You're a beautiful dancer! I haven't been en Pointe in over ten years due to injuries... You've inspired me to return to ballet to experience that joy again! 🌹
"If we don't love our body today, we might not have a chance to tomorrow" is a very powerful quote, and very true as well. I used to do martial arts 6 days a week with a lot of high intensity workouts as well. Then I developed fibromyalgia and can now only do a fraction if what I could do before, which has upset me greatly for years now. I wish I'd been more appreciative of what I was able to do before.
artists? she literally just moves as shes told to, you know that right? shes not making art, shes repeating the actions told to her by another. at best, that OTHER person is making art. shes about as much an artist as a burger flipper at mc donalds : both are just doing their job as they are told to.
Wow. Going through such a hard time with the cancer, surgery, recovery and now being able to dance again just brings me to tears.😔😔But i am so happy for her that she is able to do what she loves. Such an inspiration😍😍😍
She speaks so beautifully and poetically in English - maybe it’s because English is a second language, maybe it’s because she’s just got a beautiful soul. Loved this video!
Matcha (latte) is a very nice alternative if you don't like coffee. It has caffeine too and also magnesium and anti oxidants. It gives me a lot of energy. Try it, maybe you'll like it
I love hearing her passion and embodiment of her craft. So beautiful. And I like that she has a clear attitude of her love for ballet and dance - a healthier example than what we see in Black Swan or people forced to perfection and obsession. It really needs to be a joy and an embodiment of something you were born to do. Clearly she has found that. Thank you for this interview. Bravo 👏👏🧡🙏
I have zero interest in ballet, but I actually enjoyed listening to you speaking about this art form. So much enthusiasm and passion. It was lovely to behold.
This was pleasant to watch. Ballet is so graceful and elegant. I just knew her feet would be wrecked after seeing a few ballerina paws before, but her feet were in great shape, and STRONG!. That incline toe raise she did was impressive. The body control that is involved with this form of dancing is insane.
How wonderful it was to get to know you, Petra. We saw your beautiful dancing last winter in the Nutcracker and immediately noticed your gorgeous style. You are just as beautiful a person and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Ciao Bella! 😘
I am so relieved your Well. Before I had my brain surgery I didn't know if I would live to dance again. That last dance before surgery was very special to me too.😊❤
Wow. This was an INCREDIBLE segment. Thank you so much. Petra Conti explained everything so fantastically well and seeing all that she does is amazing. She's amazing.
I have such admiration for these dancers. The pain they must endure must be enormous. Your entire body is saying “don’t do that” and yet you must do that. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Person has to love it a lot to achieve that level of inspiration and desire to act to be better. I am admiring with those people, hope someday I can find something so enjoyable for myself
Thank you for sharing this video, I enjoyed it. I took some ballet classes and they were fun, I have a lot of respect for ballerinas after taking them.
Thank you so much for sharing! @pertacontiofficial You are such a wonderful inspiration! I will take your words and keep them close! I hope you continue to have a beautiful life!!❤️❤️
i don't understand why pointe shoes are so inefficient. With all the modern technology, materials and manufacturing processes, they are still the same as before. can someone tell me why it has never evolved?
I suppose it's very difficult to come up with something 'cause each ballerina "destroys" it to fit their fit. A manufacturer cannot possibly create a billion of different to suit everyone's size and shape 😔 I do hope something will be developed to make it easier 'cause it's not only tike consuming but also incredibly expensive
I've seen football, baseball and basketball players workout and it doesn't look as intense as this. Just an hour and a half for warm up, THEN the practice begins. 😅
You remind me of Darla a dancing protagonist I just read about in the book Pink Club by Emma Bruce. She is doing a gift where it’s free to download on kindle for 5 days. Highly recommend for all adult ballerinas to read this book at least once - it’s beautiful 💖
My friend's sister did ballet for a show in NYC and I remember being completely shocked at her feet. Literally ballet dancers feet scare me I can't even look 😅 the calluses and deformities
Thank you so much SELF for the feature 🙏🏻 ❤️ 🥰
You're a beautiful dancer!

Amazing life you live! Thank you for sharing ❤️❤️
sembri veramente una bella persona oltre che bravissima ballerina, continua cosi! ;)
Fantastic talent and energy! Thanks for sharing x

I hope she's making a decent amount of money. It's unfortunate how poorly artists are often compensated. Best wishes and prosperity to you Petra.
she drives a tesla i’d say she’s doing alright
As long as she has good skill, she has leverage.

@@FingerinUrDaughter wow, you don’t really know anything about the performance arts do you
@@FingerinUrDaughter Shhh~, go with your little brain somewhere else. Thank you.

I am going with the "lovely soul" option.
How do you know she has a ‘beautiful soul’?
@@Anna-hn2gh it radiates - the positive energy. You just feel it

Ballet dancers are insane athletes I hate how people don't take it seriously

@minha! Proper bloke here and Ballet dancers amaze the f*** out of me!!!! Any who can't appreciate male and female ballet dancers just a moron.
I really admire her and her mindset as a professional dancer✨💕

Or a nice cold shower 😊
At 11? Thats considered very late for a dancer yet she made it in a good position!! You are NEVER too old everyone!

True dedication to her craft. You're amazing Petra
14:00 That cat is gorgeous! - - Oh now back to the ballerina. I like that she shows how much she eats and she doesn't deprive herself.
Gorgeous indeed!
She's wonderfully articulate and engaging.
I have such admiration for these dancers. The pain they must endure must be enormous. Your entire body is saying “don’t do that” and yet you must do that. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is a great feature. It’s nice to see what a dancer does, since their craft is very athletic. Well done SELF.
Petra seems to be such a lovey lady and she was very insightful. Thank you Dear Petra.
I bow before this woman's dedication and grace.
What a beautiful soul. Thank you, Petra.
FYI, the ballets she’s rehearsing in most of the clips are Balanchine’s “Apollo” (in the role of Terpsichore) and Sleeping Beauty.
Literally to the 1% whos Reading this God bless you and may your Dreams Come true stay safe and a wonderful day 💕🙏
Thank you so much💕

This was fun to watch. To go through cancer wow! I'm trying to strengthen my feet. Man it hurts! I love how in love she is in with the art.

really see the passion in her eyes!
This is fascinating! Ballet dancers look so beautiful, what dedication. Thank you.
Ballet is really demanding. It is more than a full time job. Just the ones that have the passion are the ones that make it👍
PETRA IS A GREAT DANCER!
So incredibly inspired!!! Such a beautiful human inside and out!💗🩰
God bless her and her family.❤️
Excellent presentation of a principal ballerina 🩰. Loved it! ❤️

Very good editing of inserting the video clips with the interview. So kudos!
she is a super human.....I feel like I'm barely alive compared to her. wow.

Yeah, same here.
Great explanations of the hardships of her art and craft.
Shes so cute, i literally love her

Very interesting for an aficionado like me. Beautifully presented , thank you .
Wow! Good on her to continue dancing, even after the horrors of Kidney Cancer!!

There is so much wisdom in her words.
and then she completely invalidates it by wearing a mask like a preschooler.
this is cool and informative. i like where she talks about what she thinks about performing
Love you, Petra!
what a wonderful interview. thank you
wow! she is awesome...i would like to watch her perform live.

Someone needs to make good point shoes that last longer than 3 days
They exist, but they don’t look as good. The handmade Freed shoes that she wears are the best for professionals.
Thank You for Sharing Your Story 💓💞🥰🙏
Nice! What an elegant way to speaking
I am so jealous of ballet dancers as they can wear tights the entire day!
You are so lovely and strong in mind and body. Good luck beautiful girl.
Lipstick colour looks so nice.

I wish they would have used her name in the title.
It’s in the description box underneath - Petra Conti.
Wow, what a fascinating insight.

Wow, this lady sleeps 6 hours a day. I think that is the most impressive part, for how much energy she is consuming every day
