Honestly, I’ve found the simplest techniques to help my feet! I get bad blisters and friction in my shoes and the best thing I’ve used to prevent that is a folded up tissue. There are so many expensive and unnecessary things you can buy but personally, the simpler the better!
It's not cool or hard-core to abuse your feet. All the ballerinas I know treat blood blisters and lost toenails as a badge of honor and I'm like...dude. Don't skip out on footcare.
Honestly it is a badge of honor. It’s not us abusing our feet it is doing something that we love. If your feet don’t have bruises and blisters, you need to start working harder in ballet class.
@@itssoph923 if your feet have blisters and blood and lost toenails then you won't be doing ballet for very long and your feet will ware out in the future lmaooo. Good luck since you are probably just too lazy to keep your hygiene. Not much of a badge of honor at all.
@@itssoph923 It depends on how bad they are blisters and bruises are always gonna happen but you shouldn’t try to make them worse and when you get them I put band aids on my blisters so they don’t get infected because if they get infected to badly then I can’t dance so don’t intentionally hurt your feet your feet deserve better
Can you do a video on how to treat achilles tendinitis or just how to make your achilles tendons not hurt because my achilles tendons have been MURDERING me now that I’m en pointe I just got en pointe in December
I’ve had this problem for sooo many years!! I recently found that when I was pointing my foot, I’d unintentionally point too hard and crunch my achilles tendon. After working on lengthening my point, I haven’t struggled with this problem as much. Also when I was en pointe, remembering to constantly dome my foot inside the shoe helped.
I’m so glad that you made this. You show that you can be a ballet dancer without having feet that look like they’ve been put through a meat grinder. I feel like some people view ugly ballet feet as some kind of “rite of passage.” Kudos to you and your self-care. 👍🏽 What massage gun is that?
I’ve been doing pointe work for a little over a month and I researched how to take care of my feet before hand and I’m glad that I wear jell toe pads for extra protection.
I would love to see overall muscle and body care and also a video about going on pointe, how long it takes and pointe preparation. Ive been dancing ballet for 9-10 months i started at 19- Oct 2019 until now but i had a huge break in between so it adds up to about 9-10 months. Id love to go on pointe one day but i dont know if i will ever be able to and would love some advice as a fairly new ballerina xx Thankyou xx i love your videos x
hi! i started ballet when i was really young but quit when i was 8 and just went back two years ago. i started dancing two days a week for a year and then my second year i’ve been dancing three days a week. i’m starting pointe work next month. it will depend on your studio but if you work really hard on strengthening it shouldn’t take too long. so keep working hard good luck!💞
@@morganmidnights Go you!!! Thats great news, wishing you the best for your pointe journey. Thankyou so much for your reply. For 6 months I danced between 2-4 hours of ballet a week and then i had a 9 month break for health reasons. I started back in December and since I do either 1.5 hours or 3 hours a week - basically 1 or 2 lessons. Im dancing virtually with pineapple studios at the moment, my usual studio isnt doing online classes in lockdown.
One of the biggest things to work on is ankle strength and ankle flexibility/mobility. Work on strengthening your ankles and calves, and also work on your wing and releve. Those will definitely help speed you towards pointe! I've been doing ballet for about a year and a half Andi just got Pointe shoes last november. If you work hard and really concentrate on strength, flexibility, and technique, you can get there.
Do you ice your feet before or after training ? What about warm water ? I never really took care of my feet because I don't dance everyday. But now I have a cyst in the ball of my foot and the doctor told me I worked too hard and that's why, but I don't remember pushing past my abilities. It hurts even when I walk, I don't even know where to begin to manage the pain :')
I don’t dance but I do wear heels everyday so this is helpful to know. I’ve been trying to find tips to help people prevent blisters and stuff so thank you :)
How do you save enough money for pointe shoes? I am thirteen and I and really worried about my parents. I'm going to get as many jobs as possible this summer, walking dogs and washing cars I think. Will it be enough? I'm going to be en pointe sooo much this summer, so I am really nervous about wearing out my pointe shoes because they cost so much. I'm not willing to dance on dead shoes because medical bills are even more insane, but how do you make enough money? I need tips for this because come the school year, I won't be able to juggle dance, school, friends, family, and one job, let alone another. What should I do? My parents are really strong financially but these shoes... They just cost so much. It scares me.
I have a quick question! How cold should the ice bath be? I’m afraid I’m going to give my feet hypothermia or something… Is it supposed to burn or just be sorta cold? Thanks!
So I am 15 in 10 grade at science course but I found out a professional dance course and I want to switch courses but to be in the dance course you need to do exams , interview and stuff like that but I don’t have any dance experience and I really love that course and I don’t know what to do , oh and I loved the tips
1. Hiii from Arizona👋💌💖 2. Youre sooooo pretty omg, like omg not to be weird but your face structure is just super nice 3. You and your bf should do a reaction video to all the UA-cam videos you've done together
I need to watch this so bad girl as a man who dabbles in pointe nobody goes over foot care my toenails have come off and just like are so damadged let’s see if any of this will help me 😭😭😭
apparently its really bad to exfoliate your feet as a dancer as it exfoliates all the dead and hard skin that you've built up from dancing and then ur skin goes all soft which makes u way more prone to blisters etc & it takes ages to build it back up again
I've heard what Pointe shoes do. All the women I know have their care routines--but this sounds like a special one. try using R.I.C.E.R. on them, and also check out The Pointe Shop
ice it after class also make sure you put your heels down when you land after a jump or releve and fully relax your feet on the floor
