      What didn't you like about the doors. My real complain it that the roll up doors move a lot in the wind. It can get annoying sometime. I planning to put brush seals on when I can afford to. I'm hoping that helps.

    Nice shop. When I built my shop everyone said I did over kill on my outlets. I have a 20x40 shop. I installed (5) outlets down each 40 ft. wall and (2) on each 20 ft. end. Two welder outlets, one on the side wall and one at front rollup door, and one air compressor outlet where its located. Yep its over kill but I haven't had to worry about where an outlet is when I'm doing something.

      @@113Cycles Hello, and thanks for checking in. Yes my shop is up and still not completed. Today was my building final inspection and I’m pretty sure I passed. It has been a long grueling process with me doing this during this Covid disaster! I couldn’t have picked a worse time to do this. At least I was lucky and their best crew put up the building. They were professional and did a great job. However prices are skyrocketing on everything along with major delays. I’m about to do electrical then the close cell spray foam which now has doubled in price but I want for the integrity especially because I live in South Florida hurricane central. I first met with this contractor November 2020! Also have to do the driveways and finish rock grade around building. I’m still not sure if I’m going to frame out the inside for future walls or just take the spray foam look. You must be real happy with your building and I think it looks great! Is there any advice you have on what you may have done different? Thank you, Joe.

    • @113Cycles
      @113Cycles  2 роки тому

      The best advice I have is to get some good silicone and seal everything you can. Seal between the concrete and the steel beams on the inside. Also lay on the floor and look at that gap again to see if any light is coming through. Seal around the doors and the windows as much as you can. These were the main areas I had leaks. If you have done the electrical yet and can afford it, put in more outlets than you think you need. If your planning on finishing the walls inside, put studs up before the insulation goes in. I did the bottom 8 ft but not the upper. I couldn't afford it. I'm going back now and adding studs to the upper portions of the walls. I have to scrape out quite a bit of insulation to get the studs in. Unfortunately wood is still expensive so it's a slow process. Hope this helps, Ryan

      Thanks Ryan for the advice I really appreciate it. Yes cost of everything skyrocketing not making this easy for any of us. My next step will be the electrical and studs. I will be sealing off all gaps like you suggested prior to me getting the insulation done. 🙏God bless , Joe.

    Getting ready to do a 24x36 was just wondering how the power is running does it follow the beams all the way up and then run along the upper rails to the box and if so how does fit between the 2x4 and the metal panels

    • @113Cycles
      @113Cycles  Рік тому +1

      Yes, that’s how it runs. The 2x4’s are laid so that there is space between the sheet metal and the studs. They slipped the wiring behind them and into the natural grooves in the metal.

    Awesome job , got a few questions though
    1 . Could you have cut this in half with half of the building living space with a loft and the other half garage ?
    2. How tall is the garage to the Evewrs ? and how tall are the studs ?
    3 I am thinking cut it in half make half a mother in law suite n half the building and a garage on the other half , add a bunch more windows With a loft on half of the living section .
    So half of the building would be a garage and the other half would be 12 by 30 Living room kitchen, bathroom and bedroom and a loft on half 12 by 15 living space

    • @113Cycles
      @113Cycles  3 роки тому +1

      Absolutely, Metal building are great for that kind of build. My walls are 12ft with a 16ft peek. I believe the trusses are at 14ft. I'm going to add a 8x30x8 mezzanine later for more storage. If you plan on working in the garage, just make sure to add good ventilation. You don"t want garage fumes in the living quarters.

    Looks good. One thing you could do is add some additional tags for the video, to show "metal building electrical" or "metal garage "electrical", sub panel metal garage.. things like that. I've been watching videos to prepare doing electrical myself and looking for examples; and your video shows a nice mount setup using unistrut bracing and different wiring options for lights; think it could help a lot of people.
    But nice looking setup overall!

    How do you feel about the horizontal siding opposed to the vertical?

    • @113Cycles

      I was worried about the siding holding dirt since it’s horizontal but even a light rain keeps it clean. I prefer the look of the horizontal.

    How did you get your door latches on the inside

    • @113Cycles
      @113Cycles  2 роки тому +1

      I cut off the bolts then lined the slide portion up with an existing hole on the rail. Marked and drilled new holes in the door. Then installed new hardware. I sealed the old holes with bolts nuts and washers. I was pretty worried about messing it up but it turned out to be relatively easy.

      @@113Cycles Thanks, I'm in central Florida where our inspectors are a pain in the ass. I have to be honest, Doubt I'm pulling a permit. When I built my steel garage, The inspector put me through the ringer ( e-mail after e-mail, document after document ) just to get the permit.
      I finally went back into the office and the head inspector was there, I told him I couldn't possible give my case inspector any clearer or more docs for approval. and the lead inspector called him up front and told him to give me my permit cause as a home builder, I had better plans and document than most contractors provide.
      I just don't want to go through it again!.
      I do build everything to code and beyond, So I'm just going to document and take photos of everything so later I can pull an as is permit if I ever sell.

      I was looking at your video to see what conduit you are using, You are covering your walls so you are good with the FMC conduit because it will be protected against possible damage. I on the other hand will be using rigid EMT. I do plan on insulating but not covering the walls after insulation.

      I did exchange a number of emails with the city before I got the building permit. Mostly because I wasn’t familiar with the process. I also wanted to make sure that everything was in order when the inspectors came.
