The beauty of Rammstein: it's not just good music. It is Art capital A. They blow you away with heavy songs, They get you crying with sensitive emotional songs, with gorgeous melodies. It is Theater from the highest quality. Their videoclips are better than Hollywood blockbusters. And their live shows are a not to be missed experience. Their pyro's , their backdrop, everything is the best of the best. Like we did not forget about the Beethovens and Mozarts from the past, I can only hope Rammstein will still be remembered in a couple of hunderd years to come.
They really are from that level and fully deserve it.

I think this is such a sad song. In this version I almost feel sorry for the creep. Like, he is really sad to be such a horror. I think Till did a great job to give people such mixed emotions.

Did you notice, the lighting progresses with the song represented the circle of a night? And in the end when he (nightmare) descends into the pool, the sun (light) rises and all that's left from the dream is the narrow rise of a plume of smoke. A new day begins.

Did you notice it? At the very end as the lights are fading the white smoke? I believe the white smoke/mist you see in the very end as the lights slowly go off was his spirit/Soul.❤

Combine Canio, the clown from Pagliacci with Pennywise from It and you have Till's Sandman. It's an amazing performance of sadness, he doesn't want to be who he is but he's obliged to be so. The piano is exquisite and Till's voice, movement and facial expressions are appropriate to the role he's playing and install different emotions in the viewer and listener throughout the video. As he descends down the steps and says " Ja", his face is filled with so much pain, it's indescribable. Outstanding.

here's my take on this incredible performance: 'Nun liebe Kinder, gebt fein Acht' = Now dear children, pay attention........'Ich bind die Stimme aus dem Kissen' = I am the voice from the pillow'..........Till portrays the "Sandman" (a character in a German kids' show), who has the power to deliver children from the monsters in their nightmares OR allow their terror to continue until the 'bright light shines from Heaven' in the morning ( ein heller Schein am Firmament ).....while terrifying, the Sandman actually cares for children, which explains the sadness and tears while he sings......and why his smile is so painful.......'Mein herz brennt' = my heart burns..........Till is a theatrical master ..........many have covered (or tried to cover) this masterpiece........attached is a link to one from a European talent show........the vocalist is NOT German, so his pronunciation is lacking, but, man, what an interpretation ........ua-cam.com/video/EqxldLEjeBs/v-deo.html

This is the *original* original version of the video, and personally, I don’t care for it, but I still think it’s worth a watch at least once. It doesn’t really fit with their other videos to me, almost all of their videos since the beginning have had a plot, while this is just a collection of beautiful but disjointed images.
