Hay Justin I lost my son 3 years ago ,,, I’m a multiple instrument player,, I love your music cause I hear my son in you,,,, thanks for keeping the Blues alive. Love your Work keep it coming 😎
I appreciate Justin's no-nonsense demos, and his playing is always superb. Further, you can hear the sound of the guitar instead of the multiple effects that other You-Tubers use, in which every guitar sounds the same.
I think what separates you from other guitarists on the internet, is that even though you may have many of the same influences and know how to play much of the same styles, you have a very clear and defined style of your own.
Your enthusiasm for this instrument is contagious!! I sure hope your hands are insured!! Your knowledge of the instrument, and how your convey that information to the rest of us, is absolutely wonderful!! I'm not any sort of a musician, but I am an enthusiastic audience member. Thanks so much for your skilled demonstration of this guitar...much appreciated!
Thank you for playing this guitar and for your great guitar playing my name is Coyote red skies I've been playing slide over 45 years I'm 70 years old and you are the best for a young man I've played with many of celebrities in the past but you beat them all I love your slight guitar playing in your techniques I love to watch your videos this old man is learning from you all the time God bless you Justin
I never knew there's a guitar so beautiful like that. The guitars are lucky because it is in your hands. Nice playing justin! Always take care! Love from the Philippines!
You've got a real keeper guitar right there JJ. I just watched some videos from Mule Resophonic in Saginaw MI. Outstanding workmanship indeed. Rhett Shull and Tyler Bryant are big fans of Mule also. Slide Guitar playing sure has kept it's appeal from the old Mississippi Delta Blues era.
Mule always blows me away and this is no exception. There are a handful of resonators I'd like to upgrade to one day any of Mule's lineup including this are on that list of things worth buying. The tone this thing produces is outstanding. I could listen to this all day.
When I was listening to you play it sounded like you were channeling Ry Cooder. I have always enjoyed his music and it looks like he has passed the torch. Thank you Justin Johnson for more beautiful music.
You think to yourself, "The last thing I need is another guitar" .... until you see and hear this. Dammit. Some marvelous playing in this demo to go with that killer gut bucket tone.
What sweet tone & frett'n. It looks like it was dug out of 200 year old beached riverboat. You never disappoint Justin, your a National Treasure keep'n our culture and the hart of Rock n' Roll alive. ~ your neighbor.
Justin ... all I can say is that I thank you for sharing that experience with me !! Just unboxing the new instrument and playing it for the first time ... Jeeezzzz , that was AMAZING 🤩!! I think I still have goosebumps lol 😂 I could feel your excitement and attachment to the guitar, it’s like I was in the room with you !! Thanks again !!
Thanks Justin, I got old. And lost my fire for playing. But watching how much you enjoy guitar. It lit a fire back. I’m 56 yrs old and think it’s time to pick it up again. Paying bills and women can ruin a love for pickin. No more my friend. God Bless...
Justin, this machine is beautiful to look at, beautiful, exquisite tone, and, of course, the ways that your fingers move across the strings and the frets ... Blues in the deepest most wonderful way. Sheer beauty ... Perfect machine for a midnight full moon dance in the swamps ...
Justin, so glad you're endorsing Matt Eich and Mule. I've got one of Matt's 12 fret tricones and I just love it. The only other thing I wish is that I could play that thing like you. cheers.
Wow! THAT was Fun!👍👍You are a great Teacher! We love your calm quiet way of expressing what is going on and then demonstrating every part! Just awesome, Justin!
Is it just an unboxing? So why I wanna watch to this one more and more and still again once more? Thank You for these 20 minutes of clean blues energy!
What a fine guitar. You can hear the quallity. With you playin, What a rockin pair. Unbeatable. Thanks Justin I always feel so good after hearing you play. I love this kind of blues tunes
Many years ago, don't know if I should say, I was just a kid, My cousin Al played Lap, guitars no one else knew about, thanks for reminding me of those days, very rare. My late brother was from the very early 50s, made he's own amps too, keep it up!
I've got as much respect 4 the lad that can tell me what is what with this guitar ,that's 4 sure he plays it ,and I wish I was as talented a player that can pick it up and reveal what a talent sounds like ! Great stuff and thanx Justin ,I've got and had the blues practically since my teens I'm now 67 and would love 2 live next door ! Exceptional and really what it's about cheers!!!!
Just discovered you and the Mule...VERY GOOD review from a player who knows and understands the genius of its creators (past and present) and how to actually make it talk like its supposed to...Nicely done mate! Good on ya!
Is that a Matt Eich resonator? I met him while cycling in NC with the Steel Wheels during their last Spokesongs tour. He’s a pretty funny guy and was very strong on the bike. I think he was pulling all the bands merch on the little trailer. He’s a true craftsman!
Wow , loving the sensual sounds coming out of my now second favourite guitar you play , the 00017 being the fave. Certainly a well thought out design and build , bouquets to Mule Resophonic . We are all glad you chose to introduce their Resonator on your channel . Cheers from NZ .
I've been watching your videos from the begining. You were the first youtube channel I subscribed to., I was your 269th subcriber. I never get tired of listening to you play. Thanks justin for all the work and effort you put into tour videos. Now for the guitar, wow, just beautiful. The music penitrates my body to the bone. Love it. Thanks again.
you would put a smile on Robert Johnson's face ....if he was alive today that's how he would play and sound ..you're a gifted individual my friend planet earth is lucky to have you , we are lucky to the guitarist world . well done . big inspiration you are. uk
This guy blows me away with his talent, and what a class act. Lovin' absolutely lovin' that ole ironing board slide in th background. Now I gotta search his vids to see if he plays it!
That is a drop dead gorgeous instrument and when you began to play, my jaw dropped and I jumped a bit. 🤯 I hope you use this guitar in more videos, it is AMAZING!
WOWEEEEE! Oh! Gorgeous. As a visual artist, I so appreciate the thoughtful creative work that goes into a guitar like this. It IS a work of art. Particularly love the attention to detail as far as finishing. Love the wrap pattern around the edges. You know, these things are important. It's like the frame around the painting. Presentation isn't really complete if you don't frame your work in a way that highlights it. And that PIC GUARD! Whoa. The pic guard may be my favorite part of this instrument...next to the SOUND, of course. I'm writing this before the video has finished and am wondering about the price on this guitar. Whatever it is, this is one for the wish list for sure.
Always fun to see your delight when unboxing a new guitar, like a kid at Christmas--understandably. That Mavis is a gorgeous instrument. Your expertise just slays me. Go, cat, go!
Hmm, just about the time I start to feel like I'm making good progress on my own playing... here comes Justin. Great job, beautiful axe but I gotta go. I've got a lot of practicing to do 🥺👍
I like a lot of guitarists, both old, legendary, who are no longer with us and are now acting, but all of them, let's say, are narrowly focused. When I saw Justin for the first time, I really liked it, but when I saw Justin doing magic on a guitar shovel, I realized that I don't understand anything about guitar music, and Justin's fingerstyle is just fabulous! Every time this magic pulls me into this fairy tale of magic sounds! Damn! It's like a drug!
I first discovered JJ because a Wide Sky Unboxing. I really want the wide sky but now I REALLY REALLY WANT a Mule! I live in a Southeast Texas swamp so I believe my neighbors are entitled to be regaled on a nightly basis, whether they want it or not.
Good playing , I like your critical view of things too , your understanding of ythe instrument and how iot feels is so appreciated. Thanks for your sharing this from the bottom of my heart man, your great!
maybe the 2nd time I have commented on you tube since they invented the internet........ You define professional for the next generation Justin.....Much respect & inspiration. Fur,Fang& Claw!
That's awesome Justin! Very happy for you kind sir! I love how she's talking to you before you get her out of the case. Mighty fine pickin'....picks me up when I'm feeling blue how bout you.
Mule got it ALL RIGHT ...EVERY last lil detail..sound,looks,and set-up...ummmm..O'l Mavis sure is One UNIQUE & Very Beautiful Gal....... Have fun w/ dat one Justin.....Stay Safe & PEACE
I love seeing the little smiles to himself when he's playing. You KNOW he likes it, you can feel it in the music.
Hay Justin I lost my son 3 years ago ,,, I’m a multiple instrument player,, I love your music cause I hear my son in you,,,, thanks for keeping the Blues alive. Love your Work keep it coming 😎
If it’s half as delightful for you to play as it is for me to listen, we are both getting a hell of a deal! Thank you!
They’re about $3900 and a deposit of 250 with a3-4 month turnaround. To much for my poor self but enjoy watching you!
Well said Mike.
Man,great!! Every time I watch you it makes my day
I was trying to find the words but what you said described it all
Watching him open it too LOL
I appreciate Justin's no-nonsense demos, and his playing is always superb. Further, you can hear the sound of the guitar instead of the multiple effects that other You-Tubers use, in which every guitar sounds the same.
There's gold in them there fingers.
Killer tone.
Magical gold
I think what separates you from other guitarists on the internet, is that even though you may have many of the same influences and know how to play much of the same styles, you have a very clear and defined style of your own.
A beautiful looking and sounding guitar in the hands of a master. I could listen to you play all day.
Havent even finished the video yet, but I'm already in love with the look of this guitar!! It's so rustic and dirty and I'm all about that!
You always get beautiful guitars, Love how you are detailed telling us about them, And damn you can play them. What a artist! Absolutely perfect.
Now that’s one of the best resonators that I’ve ever heard. I could sit here all night listening to you play that wonderful instrument.
THE CEREMONIAL KNIFE IS AWESOME...😁🙃🎼🎵🎶🎸AND THE GUITAR IS A JEWEL!!! WOW...BRILLIANT IS A GOOD WORD FOR THIS SHOW...
That was a gorgeous guitar, from case to the guitar itself. It really deserves to be in your hands. !
I never knew there's a guitar so beautiful like that. The guitars are lucky because it is in your hands. Nice playing justin! Always take care! Love from the Philippines!
I never heard Justin talk before! Cool! Huge inspiration to my slide learning.
Let's hear how she sounds, damn I love The Resonator it has a special sound to my ears, especially in YOUR hands 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
That's not a guitar, it's a work of art that crawled out of a swamp.
It sure is pretty aint it? Even the case is beautiful.
AMEN!
😂
You've got a real keeper guitar right there JJ. I just watched some videos from Mule Resophonic in Saginaw MI. Outstanding workmanship indeed. Rhett Shull and Tyler Bryant are big fans of Mule also. Slide Guitar playing sure has kept it's appeal from the old Mississippi Delta Blues era.
Those knobs are like the old Raytheon gear from the 50' and 60's. All the little touches are spot on, what an instrument!
"Spot on"...hmmm...I thought if any cliché was used it would be "on point"...
Love the aesthetic look of that guitar it's almost as pleasing to the eyes as it is to the ears to hear you playing it.
Awesome that you speak of the experience of opening the guitar, the presentation really does show how much the company cares.
Mule always blows me away and this is no exception. There are a handful of resonators I'd like to upgrade to one day any of Mule's lineup including this are on that list of things worth buying.
The tone this thing produces is outstanding. I could listen to this all day.
That, is one BEAUTIFUL MACHINE!! The craftsmanship is on point, perfection! Well done, excellent review too Justin. Thank you!
When I was listening to you play it sounded like you were channeling Ry Cooder. I have always enjoyed his music and it looks like he has passed the torch. Thank you Justin Johnson for more beautiful music.
I usually don't click "Like" before watching a video. But when I do, it's a Justin Johnson video.
Which invalidates your "like". And your comment.
You think to yourself, "The last thing I need is another guitar" .... until you see and hear this. Dammit.
Some marvelous playing in this demo to go with that killer gut bucket tone.
Q: How many guitars does a guitar-player need? A: Just one more.
What sweet tone & frett'n. It looks like it was dug out of 200 year old beached riverboat. You never disappoint Justin, your a National Treasure keep'n our culture and the hart of Rock n' Roll alive. ~ your neighbor.

Mule really pulled it off with the Mavis,an it looks an sounds great in your hands.
The only other thing I wish is that I could play that thing like you. cheers.

It must be great for the craftsmen who built this guitar to hear you make sweet music with it. Awesome.

He says "vintage style" and my attention is hooked! She's got a nice voice on her.
Such a wicked looking guitar! I'm amazed at how thin it is! To say nothing of that sweet, warm tone she sings in!
Cool resonator, you make it look easy.Love the video.
What an awesome guitar! Love the swampy sound. Well done Mule! And there’s no one better than Justin to show what it can do.
