    Thanks for such a complete A to Z tutorial! I appreciate that you included the "gotcha's" along the way. I found the video's link on David McCan's website.

    Do you provide a jet plugin plus Gutenberg e-commerce full functional. ☕

    Is it necessary to have JetEngine to be able to use JetReview? or does JetReview work alone? (Do not use Elementor, only Gutemberg + Spectra PRO)

    • @NelmediaCa
      @NelmediaCa  4 місяці тому +1

      Honeslty, I only used JetReviews once or twice... but I don't think there is any link between that and JetEngine (it can intergrate it, but it's not required)...

    hi, I remember to let Custom Fields created by Advanced Custom Fields to display on WordPress, I need to edit the PHP file? How about the situation now in 2023? To let it display, do I still need to edit php files?

      If you use a page builder, most of them now allows you to do it visually. For Gutenberg, you will most likely need an addon (like Kadence Block). If not, then you still need to rely on PHP… hence why I never was a big fan of it at the time…

      @@NelmediaCa You are very knowledge, I currently want to learn CSS for WordPress, genenerally the course for CSS is very broad, I only want to learn CSS for WordPress, especially Kadence Blocks and Gutenberg, do you have someone to recommend? Thanks!

      @@HaifengZhu-pn3uq I don’t know if there are courses just for CSS in WordPress…
      Here are few options:
      - a great resource, though from a page builder POV, is Kevin Geary’s PB101 course on his YT channel;
      - also, if you want to use CSS without having to learn all CSS (though it certainly helps to know it) is using a CSS plugin; my recommendation goest to Microthemer. Second place is CSS Hero, which is more visual, but Microthemer is more powerful and once you get how it works, you’ll find it probably as easy to use.

    How much can you customize the query?

    • @NelmediaCa
      @NelmediaCa  Рік тому

      I think it now supports the Query Builder... If so, you can customize pretty much anything.

    Which is beter, JetEngine or Toolset?

    • @NelmediaCa
      @NelmediaCa  Рік тому +2

      Well, I was using Toolset for a long time... I slowly stopped using it a while after they released Blocks (instead of Views), since it was only for Gutenberg (and I was using Elementor)... So, JetEngine is working way better with Elementor (and Bricks) than Toolset...
      Also, Toolset have released a statement last year saying that they would stop development and just do maintenance updates for at least 18 months, until they see where Gutenberg (with their full site editing) is going. After that, they'll see where subscriptions are and all... So, not very comforting...
      My choice is now clearly JetEngine over Toolset. They both have the reputation of being slow, but it's CPT, so I guess all visual interfaces are slower... I also start using ACF a little more, now that it supports the creation of CPT and Taxonomies, but it still doesn't support filters (at least not visually) or front-end forms, etc... So, use it when it's included with a tool (like Advanced Themer for Bricks Builder), but JetEngine otherwise...
      Never got the time to really test Metabox, and with all the tools out there (and ACF improving), I might never do it...

      @@NelmediaCa Do you mean Advanced Custom Fields is even slower than JetEngine?

    • @NelmediaCa
      @NelmediaCa  Рік тому

      No, not at all! It's probably faster... but has less features and more advanced features (when present) require coding, hence why it's probably lighter.

  • @HaifengZhu-pn3uq
    @HaifengZhu-pn3uq Рік тому

    hi, my friend, is PODS faster than JetEngine?

    • @NelmediaCa
      @NelmediaCa  Рік тому

      Well, I didn’t test PODS thoroughly, so I can't say... What I can say is that the more we add features, the heavier it obviously is... So, if it's lighter, it's simply because it has less features... PODS also had the reputation of not being maintained too much... They released a major update few months ago, but don't know at which pace they are updating it right now...
      Personnally, I'm always hesitant to use a free software when there are others at least as good (or better) out there where I know they are maintained and provide support...
