- Gday everyone! another awesome game! this time against the Iron Hands in the new 8th Edition space marines codex!.. great game and cant wait to play against Shane again!

I have never seen such a beautiful game--truly cinematic! The table, the armies, the action, just all so perfect. And good on you for playing through to the bitter end rather than conceding--I cannot tell you how much fun it was to see that curtain of space marines spread out across the table trying to chase down that last pesky ork! Beyond displaying your good sportsmanship, it simply makes for a more complete game. Huzzah!

Great battle report. I think your Orks need more fire support. Mek guns KMK, Loota's and tank bustas.
Probably against space marines that would be a good idea! Fun to play though 😂

Great Game! Don't know whether I like the rule that charged vehicles can't shoot at all though (A Grot deactivating a Land Rider just by touching it^^ )
Yes, I guess it's reasonable. One may consider protecting ones vehicles more with Infantry
I agree, shooting armies have a decent advantage, and you can see how difficult it can sometimes be even to get into combat with them anyway! 😀
Would love to see the Kill Bursta brought out for 8th edition at some point
You’ll see it soon actually. Next game with the Orks will be a 4500 point game vs Nids. The bursta took a big nerf when 8th dropped but it’ll still make some things go splat!

Mate how long does it take you to set these boards up and take them down - are you literally throwing rocks and clump foliage around? :D (they look great - they just look like a lot of work on the day!)
Chris Rio heya mate. Actually quite fast. Only takes about 15 minutes to set up the terrain once the mat is laid out. Packing up is even faster. Once you have yourself a but of a process it’s quick 😀

The Orks were always going to struggle on such an open table. Not enough line of sight blocking terrain. The Ork player really needs a Mech with a force field. This was always going to be an up hill struggle for the Orks. Really don't rate the Gorkanaut.
Will see what the ork codex brings to the table next year :) had a lot of fun all the same. but thanks for the tips :)

Great vid. have you tried tankbustas yet? just about every game i have against SM's I try to fit in a unit of eight or ten. All with rokkits and put em in a truck or battle wagon. I have been very satisfied with their performance so far.

Emperor's Crusade awesome, cant wait to see them. So far this edition i've used my stompa, big meks with shokk guns and even supa kannons but they have all wiffed hard. My tankbustas have been the only reliable heavy hitter with the re roll failed hits on vehicles.

I'm new to 40k and having read through the core rules I see players on batreps make both saving throws and invuln saves (invuln save after a failed armour save). In the core rule book it states that you can only choose one save, armour save or invuln save but not both. Is that correct?
That’s correct. You can’t take both, just the best one. In this game the Iron Hands have a save that can be made after armour/invulnerable saves have been name. Also, the Orks had the Pain Boy who provides a similar save that can be made after armour/invulnerable saves also.. 🙂
It used to be called a Feel No Pain save 👍
Thats correct. there are some saves that come with special rules however, like the ones shane was using for his iron hands, that are allowed to be taken after armour/invulnerable saves are made :)

i don't know how but each time i see this particular ork army in play they seem to lose... even when they are winning, they find a way to lose. I think i've only seen 1-2 battles (2 at the most) where they came through.
All my pre-codex battles were losses. The index was shitthouse. Only lost one battle since ork codex released!
