    This is the best guide I've ever seen. It is excellently explained, easy to understand, perfectly filmed and very well explained step by step. I'm excited. Thanks for the fantastic video. Your corset turned out beautifully.

    What a beautiful corset! I've always been intimidated by this pattern because of the tuck so it's wonderful to see it done in video. I'd really like to try this pattern now!

      Thank you so much! 😊I hope you try it, it comes together pretty quickly (if 1.5 weeks is quick by historical sewing standards)

    I picked up this pattern at a flea market recently but was nervous to take on such a complex project. I was thrilled when I saw this video! You really demystified the process and I’m no longer intimidated by it. I‘ll definitely be referring to this video when I make this corset for myself.

    I need to find a busk and am thinking of trying to make a mock up with some green fabric I have to see if I like the fit, but this looks amazing and this video makes the process look way less scary

    This was such a helpful and detailed tutorial, thanks! One of my goals this year is to have underpinnings for every "major" historic period so I can concentrate on designing and sewing some capsule wardrobes...

      Fun! I have trouble getting things done for one decade let alone all the major ones! 😅

      Any suggestions on a good option that could be used as a bit of an all rounder?

    Blargh, I need to make a corset and I dun wanna, the sizing is always so wonky on my dad-bod-with-boobs figure, my measurements always lie and my ribs get really annoyed if they get the least bit pinched. I'm trying to make stays using an online pattern generator which looks promising at the mockup stage. If I make something comfortable and supportive, it's going to be what I wear no matter what era I'm doing, silhouette be darned...
    I love your idea of doing buttonhole stitch at the bottom of the slits for the gores, if I ever do something with bust gores like that I will definitely use that trick. I've already reinforced the edge of my workpants pockets by practising buttonhole stitch where my clip on knife tends to shred them.
    I love how that came out, I think a single-layer corset pattern is a lot less imposing to someone new to corsetry than ones withe multiple layers, so that purple canvas in my stash is going to get used eventually.

    This was so clear and helpful, and I love the corset. I’m about to have a go at an Edwardian corset because I need a costume for an Edwardian event. Your video was so useful for all corset making! ❤

    Lovely work. I have recently started wearing a corset occasionally. It's very comfortable and the support aids my back. I think I have this pattern somewhere, I need to find it. 🤔 ❤

      Thank you! Corsets can be tricky (out of the 3 I've made, this is the only one that fit me well) but they're a fun challenge, go for it!

    Thank you so much for making this! I just bought this pattern after I saw your chemise video; I'd been trying to find a chemise without poofy sleeves. I'll try the corset next!
    P.S. I would like to see a comparison with the other pattern, if you're able! :)

    What a great video. I will be trying this soon. Question: what do you have the wax in? I would love to get it ❤

    • @Pour_La_Victoire
      @Pour_La_Victoire  6 місяців тому

      Thank you! The thread wax I purchased from the big box craft store (JoAnns) came in that little plastic carrier. I've also purchased thread wax from Etsy sellers that comes as a brick shape or other shapes, without the plastic carrier.

    I do not like the fact that I would have to use the size 18 in this pattern (looking at the size chart you showed.) but my bust is cumbersome at times 😅

    • @bunhelsingslegacy3549
      @bunhelsingslegacy3549 4 місяці тому +2

      It's just a number, the more important thing is that it fit... If your waist and hip measurements match a smaller size and you're comfortable going off-pattern, you could try that size and make larger bust gore inserts.
      If it makes you feel any better, I don't wear plus-sized clothing but by that pattern guide I'm between a size 12 and 20 depending on which measurement I go by, which of course means nothing's gonna fit me without modification and then I'm still gonna look like a potato unless I pat the crap out of my hips :P
