Oscar Blue - Backyard Mafia (Official Video)

I wrote 'Backyard Mafia' about friendship and brotherhood - particularly what that looked like in the context of my rural Irish upbringing. The song is almost like 22 years of things unsaid, compiled into 3 and a half minutes. I think guys, particularly those where I come from, don’t tend to express in words our emotions or how much we care about one another. So this song is me throwing all that taboo out the window and saying it as it is. I'll always love the people that shaped me growing up. I directed the video myself and shot it with some friends around the streets and roads of Ogonnelloe and Killaloe in County Clare with the final scene being shot at Two Mile Gate Pier, Ogonnelloe. I was so fortunate to work with my friend and incredible producer Philip Magee on this track throughout the summer of 2020, in between lockdowns! I hope you enjoy watching and listening as much as I enjoyed putting this together - Oscar.
