Very helpful!! Thanks. Nice to have the list of tools, too. On cars, therre was an old tale that you never wanted a car that was built on Friday or Monday, I forget which. It kinda looks like your planer was built on that day, because of the over-tightened bolts and the lousy spring and loose chain. How long had you owned the planer before you made this upgrade? I guess the better question is how much use had the planer seen before this upgrade? (side note-- you may still be under warranty)

I just bought it right before this upgrade. I think I actually went on Amazon and bought the Shelix before I returned home from the trip, since it was about 3 hours from home. Not sure how long the previous owner had it, but the blades were completely worn and loud as hell. There is also some damage to the base as well. However it's been amazing since. One thing I did realize afterwards was that it wasn't cutting square, the right side was a few thousands thinner than the left. May not seem like much but on my CNC it made a huge difference. I've got it pretty much squared up now.

I've started a go fund me me page for a workbench and camera stand. No-one... and I mean no-one's back deserves to work under those conditions!!

I don’t mean to be “that guy” but the “cutters” are called inserts.
    Nice to use aren’t they?
