Rolling Hills is now known as Grande Oaks Country Club and is located in Davie, Florida. And indeed, it is right below the flight path to runway 10L at FLL.
You notice no palm trees. That's because Davie is inland so less palms, especially back then. I've lived in FL most of my adult life and they really did well making people think it was the midwest.
@@chiaralistica That's a good point, there were few/none of those trees, though it has been a while since I last watched this film. It is quite possible that they filmed in such a way as to not make palm trees obvious.
Let’s just say that between the water and chorine in a pool, a 1989-90 era Baby Ruth does in fact float for a bit before the water and apparently the chlorine dissolve it. Source: I tried it at a freshman pool party.
Ted Knight (Judge Smails) was very unhappy with all the partying and the improvisation that went on in the shoot, as he took acting very seriously. In a way, that fits his character even more, so deadly serious against Al Czervik and the caddies.
I know Doug Kenney hated the gopher and thought the studio wrecked his movie by adding it. But I think the studio was 100% correct. The gopher story rules!
Buy Bushwood? The staff betting whether Spalding would eat his snot. Put your heads together and make an ass out of yourself! So manyt great lines. Ted Knight played the perfect pompass ass! What a great movie. One of the funniest.
I don't know. Baby Ruths probably have a completely different list of ingredients now than they did in the 80s. Now they're probably mostly made of corn syrup
Here, with Caddyshack, Harold Ramis & Crew did what Steven Spielberg should have done for the movie 1941. Instead of the story being around the Bobby DiCicco & Treat Williams actor combo, not should have been built around the Dan Aykroyd & John Belushi actors, as the new Abbott & Costello Buck Privates duo of the 1970s, as they were on Saturdays Night Live & The Blues Brothers. Let me know what you think
@brianjansen6057 Thank You for your comment. I think that another Buck Privates like movie with Dan Aykroyd & John Belushi like those of Abbott & Costello would've been A Better Movie, rather than having the 2 play minor roles. Let me know what you think
Technically, the "candy bar experiment" is inaccurate because of a major flaw. As pointed out, the candy bar in the film was _suggested_ to be a "Baby Ruth" but was, in fact, a _fictitious_ brand. As a fictitious brand, you cannot conduct a real life experiment using something that does not exist in the real world. Maybe a "Baby Rut" _would_ float, but we'll never know since there is no such thing as a "Baby Rut" bar. AND, if someone were to invent a "Baby Rut" specifically because of this movie, they'd have to insure that it _did_ float because that is one of the properties of the bar in the movie.
The reason Danny's girlfriend has such an awful Irish accent is because the Murray Brothers had the hots for an Irish exchange student working at the golf course they worked at when they were caddies.
How much did CHEVY CHASE and DAN AYKROYD got paid that they both came out in less than 15 minutes? And CADDYSHACK 2 was so awful that I wanted my money back.🤢🤮
Rickles wouldve been horrible, I never understood why he was so popular. Rodney was definitely the superior choice. Reportedly, Ted Knight was very uncomfortable and out of his element on the set because of the substance abuse going on and the fact he just didnt like improv.
Caddy Shack is by far one of my all-time favorite movies!!!! I've seen it many times and can still watch it whenever it's shown on TV!!!
lol i've watched this movie in my teens like 30+ times... so much fun
Never gets old.
I'm certainly not a golfer! But Caddyshack! And Happy Gilmore is definitely 2 of my absolute favorite comedy movies ever!
4:19 Where can we get a copy of the 4.5 hour first cut of the movie? That would be awesome to watch.
Thanks Rocky for yet another great piece! This is my favorite film.
I thought Caddyshack 2 was waaaay better than the first!
Said no one, ever...
Yikes, Jackie Mason was awful...
Ted Knight made the movie :P
You'll get nothing and like it!
I don't believe so. Ted Night did not produce it.
How about a Fresca?
I keep playing I don't think the heavy stuff is going to come down for quite a while
Bill Murray is now a very good golfer
And bowler (see Kingpin).
My dad loved this movie. The "candy bar" was probably hallowed out to make it float. I saw it at college with friends. Good times!!
We used to toss the fun size into local pools. Way more effective and they do float for a bit before becoming waterlogged and sinking.
Fabulous movie - perhaps my favourite film of Bill Murray. Had no idea he improvv'd the Dalai Lama bit...

I think this deserves a whole 30 minute video dedicated to the fake turd. I have so many questions...
Yes, we used the fun size in resort pools while on vacation. I'm sure they were glad when we finally grew up.
There is a documentary, I think on Netflix (could be MAX), that tells all about the filming of Caddyshack. A crazy classic.
I loved the 1st Caddy Shack. That being said, I didn’t hate the 2nd one either. I actually enjoyed the 2nd Caddy Shack. ❤
"Harpo Max? Chico Max?" What the hell?
Maybe it’s his accent

Tadeusz Konopka? That man never knew a shot of vodka he didn't like.....
@@Flies2FLL Vodka wasn't the powdery substance flowing freely at Bushwood.

Be the ball 🏌
Nananananananana !
It's hard for me to be the ball while you're talking.
You're not being the ball Danny.
LOL 😅😂😅😄🤣😆😂😂🤣🤣
@@DEVOn.A.Skertic I'm not talking now Danny. I've stopped talking. I'm no longer talking now Danny 😂😂😂😂
The Voice of the gopher was a soundtrack from the TV series “Flipper”.
I have no idea how two children got ahold of a "Baby Runt" to experiment with.
The golf course I work. Declined to have the movie filmed at.
Jacaranda? Palm Aire???
Bob Marley joint
cannonball coming
Classic comedy

Might have made a better movie. But I recall that 1941 put Spielberg into a funk. George Lucas got him out of it by having him direct Raiders.

Spielberg is one of the most overrated directors of all time. Jaws was good. Schindlers List was utter garbage!!!!
@whiterabbit1632 Thank You for your comment. I thought that he'd done A Decent Job on Schindler's List.
@whiterabbit1632 Schindler isn't garbage, but why do you think so?
Thumbs up for 8:36
😂about 20 odd years ago my now wife insisted for years that 🤦🏻♂️wait for it … Bill Murray wasn’t in caddy shack 🤦🏻♂️bless her she’s educated now 😂😂

I had one hell of a crush on Cindy Morgan.
She died recently.
I didn't hate caddyshack 2 but it wasnt as good for sure!
"Oh, this is the worst-looking hat I ever saw. What, when you buy a hat like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh?" - Al Czervik 😁

But I bet you know PUTIN Yevgeny....
How's the weather in Russia this morning?
Sorry to state this but the Marx Brothers surname is Marx not Max…..you’re probably too young to know them…..
