Dana Barron, who played the original Audrey in National Lampoon's Vacation, was on board to reprise her role in European Vacation. But since Anthony Michael Hall wasn't returning to play Rusty, and they were going to have to replace him, they went ahead and got a new Audrey as well. So this movie kind of wrecked Dana Barron's career.

So back in either 2018 or 19 the cast of Weird Science did our local Con in D.C. My daughter and I were cosplaying Barf and Dark Helmet, and we had bras on our heads for the photos!! Anthony Michael Hall could not stop laughing. Kelly quipped up, "OMG...I LOVE SPACEBALLS!!" and Ilan could not stop pointing at the back of my daughters helmet because it had dropped and cracked the day before. We put duct tape in big X's over the cracks and wrote "LUDACRIS SPEED SUCKS!!" on the back in silver sharpie!!

  • @stuntmanmarc

I never realised Ilan is wearing the same shirt and suit in The Goldbergs!
Also: I have the same issue of Time magazine and there's an article in there about the Apple Lisa actually - I've always wondered if the magazine came first and they got the name for LeBrock's character from it or if it was just a coincidence.
Also also: Chet wasn't turned into a turd, though lots of people seem to think so. According to SFX artist Craig Reardon on a blu Ray special feature, they referred to it as the 'Chet Blob', and he's just meant to be a disgusting creature

The 64 KB Memotech MTX512 (and its 32 KB brother, the MTX500) was pretty obscure at the time, and even more so now. Obviously, this is the computer that I learned programming on, in BASIC, assembler, and Noddy. Yes, Noddy.

I don't know why they felt the scene had to be reshot. It fits the scene. It's not out of character. And it's a good humorous touch. The director should have regarded the accidental fart as a stroke of luck, kept it in, and saved the considerable expense of a reshoot.

Minor correction: the nude pianist was the Playmate Of The Month (and hence had the centerfold) in May of 1982, not October. Also, her name is spelled "Kym Malin." 😉
