Thank you Will and Derek for taking time from your busy lives to produce this series. Your passion for Porsche is clearly evident and your advice is very appreciated.
This was a great series, Will and Derek! Thank you for putting these 3 videos together and giving us all these great things to think about the next time we go down the rabbit hole. Cheers.
100% of the time, I'm flying out to drive that car home. I'm in MD, and enthusiastically buy a car further from home than closer to get that seat time. NO better way to develop a bond.
Man, you hit the nail on the head with transport. Lots of Eastern Europeans who barely speak English. One thing that I will say is they’re NEVER on time. Pick up was scheduled at 9am they showed up at 10pm. Same for delivery. Good thing is car was picked up and dropped off safely and I had to the same thing with helping him navigate a car off the truck. I unloaded my car myself, but, overall was a good experience minus the waiting.
Great content. I've purchased 2 cars from the other side of the country and it's not for the faint of heart. I will say there are ways to mitigate risk, using an escrow company, or even getting a loan to ensure the title gets sent to the company loaning you the money. I did that to protect myself and paid the car off the second I took possession. Yeah it cost a little in fees but it was worth it to know the title was with a company initially.
Using a transportation broker is an option, however, there are also national shippers that you can deal with directly. Some of the familiar names are Reliable Carriers, Intercity, Passport Transport, McCollister and there are higher-volume national shipper like Dependable Auto Shippers you might consider. For those who are extra-cautious about the purchase transaction, you could consider using a local attorney in the seller's area and work through the attorney's escrow account. The attorney can ensure that the paperwork is all in order and potentially oversee possession of the car as well as ensuring the seller is paid in full.
Brilliant guys thank you, I almost bought my first porsche 32 years ago as a youngster. The seller tried to sell me an emcumbent 911 sc 1983 model. Check that there is no finance owing. I met him with a cheque less the amount owing ie I caught him out. He walked out of the coffee shop and drove away, close call taught me a big lesson. I would have owed $27k onto of the value of the car had I not been careful. Lets put it this way he never showed his face around my neighbourhood again😂😂😂 buyer beware can happen to anyone😊
Hey guys love listening to the podcast you guys are doing amazing job. Love to hear your journey with other Car brands. I sold my 2015 Carrera s and in my Journey with a BMW M2 CS and loving it. Thinking next car will be 997 or 991.2 GT3. We will see :) also have wife 59 corvette in or stable for or fun toys. Look forward to your guises future podcast take care.
As the others have commented thank you for doing this series! Do you guys have an opinion on getting a separate PPI on a Porsche CPO car sold from Porsche? I don't think you guys addressed this already. I was burned once by another manufacturer CPO car and it was a nightmare to unwind the deal. I guess I'm answering my own question here 😆
Anyone trying to save a buck to have the car shipped at the lowest bid is ridiculous. Use a shipper you know, can vet and ask questions to. If using a broker, you have no idea who and how that car is getting shipped. It's just not worth the few hundred bucks to be honest.

Totally agree. Halfway across the country you can look across the bonnet and it hits you, “I love this car.”
Kind of like flying to Russia to get my wife….
@@TTT-1961.😂
I had good success with enclosed transport for my first 911 to Atl. Though you’ve laughed at Porsche side badges I like mine.
this series was fantastic, thank you!!
Always enjoy these; thx!

Great series and used several of the various “best practices” discussed in all three of these sections.

I'd want CPO so it would always be dealership for me, fortunately or not.
Compare review of 991.1 vs 991.2 Carrera 4 GTS would be great chaps- keep up the good work

...would it not be okay to buy the Porsche directly from the Agent.
Porshe dealer would take a cut it’s called Porshe tax 😂
You’re 100% right
