These interview/ informational videos are best
I love this guy both this one and the cover crops very informative
Good information! I am new to gardening and one of my goals this year is to learn about the nutrients plants needs and the options out there. I would love a show about organic matter and compost.
That is on our list. Stay tuned.
good on you. thanks 4 fertilizer dirty talk
Ha! No problem, Chris! Thanks for watching!
I have been gardening for the last 15 years using the Mittlieder Gardening method with great success after tweaking some of the fertilizer for certain plants here in the south. The last 2 years I’ve used your drip tape method with equal success. Everything you talked about confirmed the Mittlieder principles in general. Thanks for the input.
Good stuff!
Very interesting... looking forward to Dr. Harris coming back on the show to discuss using compost in the garden. I am in zone 8-A in Macon County. I ordered strawberry plants from Hoss and will be getting my bed ready for them as soon as the ground dries up after this rain. I plan to use drip tape for the first time. Can you do a segment on how to prepare a bed for strawberries and how to treat them after planting.
Yes, we are on schedule to do that closer to shipping date. Thanks for watching.
Great show! Dr. Harris is extremely knowledgeable on fertilizers. I’m going to have to watch it a couple of more times to understand it all. I hope you venture into hydroponics. I’ve been doing it for several years. FYI I use Masterblend in my hydroponic systems. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!

I must say, you have premium info here, but as a beginning gardener, I have to say my head is spinning after listening. I appreciate it though. Just feel like I have a long way to go to catch up to everyone else's level! I'll just call myself a work in progress! LOL Thank you so much for all you fine folks do!!!!! And thank you for delivering the knowledge to be learned!

Glad you like them!
I’ve watched MANY gardening videos through the years. But I’m not sure I’ve ever seen one better than this.
Wow! Thanks, Brooks! We appreciate it!
I loved this segment. Such great information.
Glad you enjoyed it, Janice!
Interesting
Doctor Glen was awesome
Hey, great show, as always, and another fantastic guest! Dr. Harris is a world of information! I learned some things today, and that's always a plus! I'm so glad y'all touched on the blossom end rot topic, maybe a few more folks got the message on magnesium sulfate, and it's ineffectiveness, in regard to BER prevention! I'd love to see him back regularly! Composting, cover cropping, beneficial companion plantings, etc. You and Ms Sheila fix the man a proper pot of collards and cornbread too!
Glad you enjoyed it. We plan on having him as a regular! :)
Does Manures/ cow, chicken, put more salt into the soil than Chemical fertilizers.
no they do not
Great content. I look forward to the show every week.
We appreciate your support, Richard!
So how do you soil test? And can you not make your own fertilizer naturally even if you had to not grow in that spot for a year? I think I asked the question right the way I’m thinking
you have to contact your local extension office for soul testing. Yes we use manures all the time
@@gardeningwithhoss ok is that better than using commercial fertilizer I’ve been researching that commercial is not really all that good for healthy soil
As these are visual, they may be a way to teach children better. They can see what the plants get in a fun way.
Good idea!
@@gardeningwithhoss The younger The better. Keep them from the TV, plus eventually eat what you grew.
Do you get a better consistency with homogenized fertilizer vs say as example a 10 10 10?
yes
I live in southeast Louisiana and am wondering if fertilizers and pest control products should be stored at a constant temperature (i.e. indoors), or will they keep well in a barn/shed subject to the cold of winter and the heat of summer?
Proper storage is key in order to keep fertilizer effective from season to season. Here are a few tips for proper storage:
Store in dry, cool, 100% shaded places
Keep fertilizer in its original bag or liquid container so there is no confusion regarding product type, cautionary concerns or product use.
Close bag securely, wrap in plastic or store in its tightly sealed plastic container to keep moisture out.
Keep off the ground and store in a protected area away from food (i.e. shed, garage)
** When in doubt, refer to product label for proper storage instructions. *
@@gardeningwithhoss Thank you for your quick response! I guess I’ll leave everything in the house...the winters aren’t bad here in New Orleans, but it gets hotter than Hades in the summer for extended periods of time. These products aren’t cheap and I have to make them last as long as possible. Again, thanks!
Mr Greg you sure are slimmin up..... Hope all's well.
Thanks, Josh!
This was a great show. I hope you have Dr. Glen on to teach us more. You two know so much information between the two of you. I learned a whole lot tonight
We will!
man this newbie learned. So much I didn't have a clue. Thanks, Greg and Dr, Glenn.
Yes, he was awesome.
Yes sir I noticed on your last corn microgreen video ( which is very interesting) that you are slimming up! Also this was a great video and very interesting as well. May have to try one of those dr Joe's fertilizer tablets.
Thanks, Cynthia! Glad you enjoyed the video and appreciate the support!
Excellent Interview. I would like to see Glen come back for some more interviews.
He will be back.
Hoss dune got them hairs cut lookin all spify I felt like I was in college Watching and listening tonight’s show awesome show

Great show as always. Loved the joke this week!
Glad to hear it!
Greg- outstanding show! This one I will watch again! Next to the lady from Sakata I think this is my next favorite guest. I couldn’t agree more that there are a ton more subjects to talk about. When you have him on next maybe you could ask on the FB group for any questions we have for him. That would be amazing!
Thanks a good idea! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video tonight. Are you going to have a spot at the Ag Expo this year.
Glad you enjoyed it. We will not be at the expo this year.
Well my brain hurts a little after that, but wow, so helpful. I’d definitely love to hear from him again on compost and cover crops.
yes we plan to have him back soon
Hydroponics for plants is like crack for humans
