- Ash-Greninja has been foreshadowed to come back in Pokemon Legends Z-A not because of the artwork in Nemona's house in Scarlet & Violet but rather because of the confirmation in the Pokemon XY&Z anime!

Correction : The old Greninja was owned by one of the Village ancient Ninja and just because ash activated that form doesn't mean he is the only one. Bonnie named it Ash-Greninja as people in that didn't have name for it but it was clear from the episode that that existed before.
Maybe instead of us getting mega forms of the Kalos starters we just get battle bond forms of Chesnaught and Delphox to go along with Ash-Greninja?

@@michaelsarmiento3057 No it’s Mega Evolution because Alain in the anime said that Ash Greninja is akin to that of Mega Evolution except there’s no stones for it so basically it’s another kind of Mega Evolution purely based on bonds and not on the reliance of Mega Stones hell in the Indigo Disk dlc there was literally this woman that created this prototype synchronization machine that let you control you’re Pokémon and in the anime Ash synchronizes with Greninja in order to create the Battle Bond that creates Ash Greninja hell Clemont even had this device tracking when Ash and Greninja were getting in sync with each other becoming one back when Ash was training with Greninja to master the Ash Greninja form so Ash Greninja definitely has to be in the game in some way and hopefully now that Ash is gone from the anime he can make his first debut in the main series games

We have at least 4 main timelines in the games: Classic (Gen 1-2), Advanced (Gen 3-5), Mega (Gen 6-9) and LGPE/USUM. SM is within the 3rd one (we know Type Null were brought to Galar and Paldea has Sonia's Book and Roaring Moon's Pokédex entry. There's a big likelihood that the LGPE/USUM timeline has time passing like how it should in the anime (roughly 1 year per gen), so Red & Mina would be 13 in Kanto and 19 in Alola. It explains why Wally still looks the same like in ORAS, only 4 years passed. While we do see Ash in a photo of Mimikyu's market, it's clear it's OS's Ash, but we don't know which one. There's a chance such Ash is the one from ICY (Movie 20) which could be an animated movie within the games universe (very meta, I know). This explains why Partner Cap Pikachu is obtainable and why there's a Pikachu Valley in USUM. Maybe Ash was a character who was popular yet fictional in the games! timeline, or not. It's very convoluted.
If anything the games depict this 2nd half of Gen 7 as Timeline 4-A while Ash from the games-verse would inhabit Timeline 4-B. This is further evident since SatoPika-Z and HatChus are only given by events, so they're not canon to the world they show up. We cannot forget that in LGPE the house Trace lives isn't the Oak house like in other versions of Kanto since Daisy doesn't exist in that timeline, much like in the anime. T4-B Ash would be a Red analog who never did the game plot or faced Giovanni, like in anime canon. This is more evident with the notion that Jessie and James exist in this timeline and its adjacents (not parallels). In T4-A Elaine got Eevee and Trace got Raichu post-Red. In T4-B the same could've happened with the games' versions of Chloe and Goh, who live in Pallet Town instead of Vermilion City. T4-A has Leaf and Archer, T4-B does not. This means ofc that a Gary would replace Blue Oak (maybe T4-B is like the ETOP manga).
With this in mind, one could infer that games!Ash bestowed Greninja to Sun (not Elio or Ray) in the DemoVerse akin to letting Charizard stay in the Johto valley for a while. This games!Greninja wasn't released because there was never a Zygarde crisis in his original Kalos. A games!Ash is possible, but unlikely. In ZA he might be a Faller like how he was for Masters EX before the PWC finals. If anything it could be his post-XYZ self since he doesn't directly segue to Alola. He would be around 15 years-old. And the Greninja he befriends in the ZA Kalos if this one is set in the past it's not his but stays by his side temporarily before it's given to the Player. It's similar to how Alder got a 2nd Volcarona before his original one passed away. Granted, I doubt that would happen. It's too messy and cluttery, even for Pokémon. The portrait in Nemona's house could be Mega Greninja A(sh) from ZA. Nice discussion nonetheless. Glad to hear it from Soul as well.

The fact that Pokémon company started avoiding Ash-Greninja in the anime and nerfing its ability in Pokémon SV, gave a painting to a Greninja in Nemona's house and we are going now to Kalos makes me really think that there's a big chance that we will be getting our boy Ash-Greninja or atleast a new mega/form.
Battle Bond. That’s what the professor called it. The ninja village called it something else. Bonnie called it Ash Greninja because it looks like Ash. Ash was like okay Bonnie.
Alright, I figured a few things. One, maybe the painting from the ninja village is created during the events of LZA, where Ash was either a Faller or, more likely, it's in his bloodline and in LZA we meet an ancestor of Ash's not brought up in the anime. Secondly, Greninja was big in XYZ, Zygarde even has Greninja as his number Two post-Kalos to defend the ecosystem. So a past version of such events as the calamity of Evil Zygarde would make a lot of sense to bring Battle Bond Greninja back into the spotlight.
They should give delphox and chestnaught battle bond forms.

I hope so. Even i was disappointed battlr bond was nerfed in gen 9. This form got me through a really tough time and when the released episode aired i kinda fell into a slump and felt insecure about liking the form

I always saw it as ash and Greninja had a strong enough bond that they could mega evolve without a stone. Mega evolution is about the bond after all

My theory- Ash-Greninja is to the original legendary battle bond Greninja as Ash is to Sir Aaron. Apparent reincarnations. Or Rye/ Rilley and their Lucarios. I also see Mellie as an ancestor for Harley in Advanced Generation, so Ash could have an ancestor here.
I'm good with battle bond Chesnaught (Alain-Chesnaught?) and Delphox (Aria-Delphox?).

If they dont add my favorite ninja frog with his transformation, i ain't playing. Like what's the point of avoiding it in the anime and nerfing it in SV but showing a battle bond greninja in a painting at the beginning of the game.
SATOSHI-GEKKOUGA!!!! There's no way they don't do anything with ASh-Greninja in Pokemon Legends ZA. We're gonna get something. somehow they're gonna bring a lot of this together with AZ's Floette, Ash-Greninja, etc.
