John Muir said..... "When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world". I'm with you...when I'm in nature, I feel a oneness with it.
Wow, just wow! Those chalcedony/agates are just amazing beyond words! I tell mom wife the same thing about how lucky we are to be alive to see & be on God's beautiful planet. How small but special we are to be here in this vast universe. When I pick up or dig for a rock or gem, It hits me thinking this beautiful thing that took thousands, maybe millions of years to form such beauty & I am the first to see & touch it! When I tumble & polish them to see even more beauty, it's something that hard to explain...Too bad we don't live closer. I would be your rockhound buddy every weekend! Ha!😉... Maybe sometime soon we can hook up and you can show me these beautiful rocks and other places to visit...
@adventuresofshadowdog Salt Lake City, Utah. I would love to go down there maybe in late October/early November when it cools down. If not, early spring for sure. But shooting for fall time this year.
Being in nature is living the good life 🙏♥️ I love seeing people have amazing adventures with their fur babies. (All babies) Shadow is adorable!Respect all living creatures. These memories are priceless! Those crystals are beautiful and just a bonus to have.
Some of the blues in the Chalcedony from that top ridge are stunning, Lance! And I agree 100% about the spiritual connection one feels in nature. It IS humbling but it is also comforting-in our smallness we can sense His greatness. As Bono says so well, “I believe in the kingdom come, when all the colors will bleed into one.”
The puppy, the sky, the red blooms, the view, the rocks,… I walked this trail with you in my mind and loved every minute of it. Thanks 😀 PS don’t forget to let us see what you do with that beautiful purple Chalcedony
Thanks so much for coming along with us on this little adventure. I’m on the final stage of tumbling and polishing a batch of the chalcedony from the site and will do a video soon showing it. I’m as excited as anybody! Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Loved your message about “getting out” and enjoying the adventure regardless of what you find. “This is the real video game” ! 😅 beautiful country by the way. Thanks for sharing your adventure!
Camping while rockhounding is my favorite. The sunrises/sets and stars are a bonus. I've made it to NM and AZ and the boondocking is so amazing. Everything and ourselves are just a tiny piece of all of the cosmos 😊. It was fun to see you on Currently Rockhounding.
Thanks for watching and leaving a commenting. Boondocking is the best! It’s always an adventure and a challenge. And often there are amazing finds nearby. Especially in AZ and NM. Take Care!
Would love to see a video of you rockhounding for Petrified wood and maybe the process of identifying what tree species the pieces you find are and if you have time to tumble those pieces as well I think would be excellent!
Ohhhhhh what a stunning location. Wow! And the chalcedony is lovely. What a blessing. Thanks for sharing your video and your thoughts about the world and the cosmos. I subscribed!
Love the video. BTW: I was reading a book on Utah rockhounding the other day. In it, the author says that Utah blue chalcedony pales with exposure. The bluest stuff is the stuff still in the ground. “The deeper, the bluer.”
Good morning Lance! Newly subscribed from Currently Rockhounding, thank you for making that claim on behalf of us rock hounds! Im from South Africa and do a lot of rock hunting, my yard is full 😂 i have collected a couple of light purpleish calcedony stones here as well which i polished with sandpaper, my favourites! Cant wait to watch all your videos and see how the stones come out polished! I have 2 jack russels myself, luuuuv your pup! Keep up the good work! ❤❤❤
Hello Hettie! I bet there are amazing places to rockhound in South Africa. Would love to visit there. I’ll be doing a video soon showing the final polished product from the claim site. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. 😎
@@adventuresofshadowdog o yes we have beautiful places to hunt! And i love nature, i really hope you can come and visit some day! Looking forward to your polished video!
Lance you're so eloquent and inspirational ... silly too. lol! I love the name you chose for the claim. Its perfectly funny. I'm going to do some sleuthing to find out more about the geologic origins and dynamics of your claim area. You're so fortunate to stake a claim ... Here in Michigan there's no public land claims allowed for everyday folks. Here's to many years of adventures and discovery for you and the ShadowPup!
Watching Shadow reminds me so much of my Pom, Mimi when she was younger. So much energy and love to run in circles. She is almost 19 now. Many wonderful memories. I’m looking at an unusual telescope but would be perfect for my needs. I will let you know the details. Thank you. Do you still use your Kodiak tent? We have the same one. The sleeping bags are fantastic and well made. My Bear and I tried using their 1 person tent in winter. Barely fits me alone. Bear is a 90 pound GS. We couldn’t move and ended up sleeping in the truck cab. 😂😂😂😂
Shadow is an energizer bunny for sure! So I primarily use my camper now, but I will always keep that tent for times that I need it. Camping with friends, or just for fun. I LOVE that tent and I also love the wood stove and the joys of heating and cooking with wood, etc. And it’s so spacious. As for the “best friends”, Shadow likes to crawl into the sleeping bag and go all the way down to the bottom and sleep. I have no idea how he breathes! I worry about him and lift up the top of the bag to get some air down there. But then I fall asleep and when I wake up he’s usually still down there as happy as a clam in a shell. Somehow he gets enough air! 🤪
@@adventuresofshadowdog Mimi used to like sleeping at the foot of any bed. I like your wood stove and how you put it inside the tent. I’m just nervous about cutting the tent. Your Capri camper is a definite must, I was just wondering if you still kept the Kodiak. Glad to hear. Great for emergency shelter. Tell Shadow hello from us. I have been battling Bronchitis and pneumonia since returning from Cambodia so no camping, boating or rock hounding trips for 3 weeks. I want to get out and find some interesting rocks. I found a really cool one in the river at Denali last year. I really enjoy the way you are able to shine up the rocks you find; very cool. K, done with my book here. Until next time.
@@adventuresofshadowdog It’s grown so much since I was there in 2009 and growing middle class is helping the people so much. Kep was amazing where we stayed at an awesome resort called Veranda Natural Resort. We visited every possible temple in Siem Reap where Anghor Wat is located. Hot and humid every day. 95 degrees with 85% humidity. I had an allergic reaction to multiple spider bites causing my feet to swell. I’m all better now once I received antibiotics here.
Love your channel! Could you email us the coordinates? We will be in the area for Trail Heros and this might be a great day trip for us rock hounds. Thank you.
Simply amazing! I'm so glad to have stumbled across this! Lance you're a gem yourself. My son and I are incredibly excited at the possibility of exploring your claim. Is this the right place to ask for the coordinates? If so, may I have them? PS. Thanks for securing the claim for all of us to explore.
Thanks so much for watching and leaving such a nice comment. Please send me at email and I will respond with coordinates and more info. Lancesnarr@gmail.com 😎
I enjoy your UA-cam videos all the great information that I get. I was hoping you could send me the coordinates to your lost sock claim so that I could do some searching there Thank you in advance
That’s a great question, Daniel, and one that you might have some suggestions. Short answer is, I don’t. I have my cell phone that I can use to capture coordinates. I have a satellite for emergency reasons if I’m out of cell range, and it too shows coordinates. But as for tracking, I just take mental notes. And my memory can definitely fail me! Any suggestions?
