You’re the only person I’ve ever heard that prefers Sonic Zero Gravity over the original. The first game takes time to get used to. Doing good tricks refuels your air. Once you get the hang of it it’s very engaging. Zero Gravity felt so basic to me,
Sonic Riders is THE best racing game around. The mechanics are flawless, id advise watching a guide if you are having issues figuring out the game. It is so fun and fluid
Did people really ignore that official statement Sega made that CrossWorlds will be a “racing game featuring the iconic characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog series”. Also, with the people who work directly on the Sonic brand acknowledging the announcement, including Sonic Team producer/designer Nakamura Shun and game writer Ian Flynn, and Sonic Team having involvement should be a heads up that this game/ its roster is going to be mostly Sonic focused.
Sonic Riders is one of those games that is hard to master but a lot of fun once you do. For example: The Air meter wont limit you at all because there are a lot of ways to recover Air and they are often, things like doing tricks, hitting the opponent, using your type-related shortcut and leveling up, also, once you are max level you will have a lot of Air. And I would know that, I loved using the High Booster and said gear took 90% of the meter away once I boosted, yet I never remember being in dire need of recovering Air.
Pus after that you have to learn how shortcuts work. Its never explained but after enough races ppl eventually figure it out and then its like playing a brand new game
Finally. Aaronitmar has played Peak fiction: Sonic Riders! 10:09 Yes. It’s a Skill issue! 15:10 Omg. I remember that flash game! Basic but Good times! 17:55 Seems like a Skill Issue to me. Lolol. Edit: He never played Kart Racing Mode in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle but oh well.
Reminder that sonic drift is NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A SMK COMPETITOR. It’s supposed to be more comparable to segas power drift as sonic drift came out before SMK.
you're right that sonic drift is meant to be like power drift, but it did not come out before smk. smk came out in 1992, sonic drift in 1994. it's almost certainly a fact, like it or not, that the choice to give it a sonic skin instead of just demaking power drift was a response to smk. i don't care for the comparison either since they are attempting different things, but it's not unwarranted and sega kinda did it to themselves
[Hawkeye:Don’t give me that hope.] Actually I do hope she is. Hell I hope we get more guest characters[“Kiryu or Majima”] in Crossworlds compared to that mediocrity that I refuse to play Team Sonic Racing.
Doubt it since the modern Sonic racing games were Western-made and focus. Korone being an ambassador is exclusively a Japanese thing. None of her involvement, except her Sonic Ring Series video and her "Fast. Friends. Forever." entry, made it out of Japan.
It’s so crazy that Mario was planned to be appear as a guest character in wii version of sonic & sega racing all stars That would be awesome to include him
Sonic Riders is the BEST racing game ive ever played. I love its skill ceiling, and it oozes charm and love and style. The story is silly but fun in a little cartoon kind of way. Im in the boat of mario kart is just too easy to me, and being a massive sonic fan helps my bias LOL. Sonic riders feels like im rewarded for learning it and playing levels again and again, which I dont feel from games like mario kart or similar titles because theyre either too easy or they suffer from just pick the best route over and over. Its difficult to get the hang of, but every mechanic like air and controls feel perfect and intentional to me now. Jumping off trick jumps alone can lead to other routes, ones that give more air or are faster, they just always have choices to make and I love it. You never run out of air when played well, you can drift every turn and burst constantly, again just played well. I actually love doing time trials just grinding it even now, and I am begging for a new title in this series since zero gravity is a massive step down in track design and skill expression, and free riders is... a game. I dont blame you for not liking it at all! The game is hard, and the tutorial is terrible. If you like parts of it, I really recommend to keep trying it if you ever have the mood to, I feel like its a game you can only keep liking more and more. I really love riders, the competitive discord and mod rock and add more characters too !
4:06 No offense but I still standby that "Why is Sonic in a car?" as one of the stupidest gaming-related questions that people asked ever. People can take Bowser playing party games, sports and kart racing with the people he tries to kill and conquer, yet can't understand why would Sonic, a hero, would play fair. 23:14 One thing to add, the DS version have a different version of some tracks. Possibly due to hardware constraints. 23:25 And the iOS version was the only version of the game that was localized and released in Japan. 28:54 I played the Android version when it became free-to-play. It has different structure (you can't even play as Sonic at the start, the titular character btw) but same maps and tracks. I remember the All-Star mechanic isn't an item that you can grab. But rather something you can spend premium currency to use, even in events where it is useless like time trials, and it is EASY TO ACCIDENTALLY TAP TO.
something i saw in a different video: in Sonic R, the vehicles can cross water MUCH better, but can't JUMP, which makes some hidden areas inaccessible.
you had the same experience with Riders as the people who first bought it had. they made Zero Gravity simpler because of that. Some say it’s worse. i LOVE both games. honestly wish they went back to it instead of staying in cars.
oh no he's playing Sonic R on Saturn HE'S NOT PLAYING THE GAMECUBE VERSION NOOOOOOOOOOOOO PLAY THE GAMECUBE VERSION Yeah nah, the Sonic Riders games' complaints are literally just a skill issue on your part.
Sonic Riders did overload with requirements, I admit. When I practiced for an hour or two, it became one of my favourite racing games ever. So did zero gravity but not as much as the first.
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing on the DS was the very first Sonic racing game I ever played and I’m happy he mentioned it aside from the console versions. 😊 Also, in the local multiplayer mode for Transformed, you can switch/exchange items with other players, so I guess Sega probably kept and renovated that feature in Team Sonic Racing for flavor.
I like to think Sonic uses the vehicles to make it a fair fight, cuz you can count on one hand the characters that could potentially beat him in a footrace
22:30 This was the first time I got to play the All Stars Racing series, and it was pretty fun, aside from how annoying it was to play on Monkey Target due to how the game controlled, which is the reason I hate that track still to this day whenever I play the console version. Also, a note about the All Star moves in this game, as they're quite different than the console versions due to hardware limitations (for the most part). As you'd expect, a lot of the small cutscenes you get for activating an All Star have been removed. The interesting functionality has been removed for some of them as well. As an example, Beat's All Star in this game removes the spray can, Tails BECOMES the tornado rather than shooting one forwards, Opa Opa only has one attack instead of 3 you can pick from, etc. But for some reason, they made it so that most All Stars can just grind to a halt when you collide with a wall, which I'm pretty sure doesn't happen in any other version to my current knowledge.
You are completely mistaken on the Apple Arcade Sonic Racing. It's nothing like the console counterparts. All levels, while sharing level themes with the console version, have layouts and gimmicks that are entirely original to it. It also adds Green Hill as a theme, and Classic Sonic as a character, with some character skins being added fairly recently. Now I'm not saying it's a good game by any means, but you have done it a disservice by describing it as such.
I loved Sonic Riders (had Free Riders on my Kinect and that was fun for awhile but that game still really sucks), Sonic R and Sonic All-Stars Racing, those were so fucking fun
Dude, whole air mechanic is almost transparent if you figure out, the game gives u air for almost everything, rail grinding, tricks, rings, and u also can find capsules with air. I'm surprised that u run out of air anyway, I guess u was just spamming boost or something
I know Free Riders is a very hated game that people hate for its controls, but the fact that you couldn't even get past the tutorial and then immediately call it bad is insane. As one of the few people who actually liked that game, I can tell that you were doing the move on that ramp wrong. 99% of the time if a move "doesn't register", its not the game or Kinect's fault, its just the move being executed wrong. You dont even need perfect precision, you just need to do the right poses. You were supposed to lift your hands a bit in the hair exactly as the stickman that is shown. I used to struggle with the game too, like for example, for the longest time i leaned my body reaching for rings and i wondered why it didn't work half of the time, turns out all i had to do was keep my body straight and it always worked afterwards, the power type characters in this game require for you to do the punching manually, and it only worked half of the time, but when i started punching forward, it always worked, i could even spam it, and so on. the tutorial just doesn't make it obvious enough that you have to do the EXCACT same gestures as the stickman, and it doesnt even explain all the mechanics either, for that the manual explains more but there's still things left to be desired. I'd suggest you'd give the game at least a second chance, an not immediately jump on the hate train for it, because you couldn't even get past the tutorial.
Thing is that even your explanation doesn't make sense. Characters turning their body shouldn't be done by lifting your hands a bit, grabbing an item shouldn't be done by just extending your arms either, they movements you are required to do don't follow the character's movement at all, so nobody is gonna think of doing so on a whim. Simply because you managed to adapt to bad controls wont stop its problems from existing.
@@toumabyakuya the part where i said he had to "lift his hand a bit", i simply meant that during the ramp section he couldn't get past. My point was that you dont need 100% superhuman precision to play this game, you just need to do the right poses, then the game and its controls will start to click. All he had to do during that jump was to lift his hands while jumping, just how its shown by the stickman, but he literally did not do that at all, hence why he couldn't get past that section, yet he and everybody who has played this jump to the conclusion that its the games fault despite him literally doing the move not how it was shown.
@sush4nz1...74 Because, as I just explained, it doesn't make sense that "lifting your hands" causes the character to twist their bodies 180°, those are different actions.
Sonic riders is really the best sonic racing game that I ever play yeah they didn't have tutorial so it's kinda hard to understand but if you get hang on it you can do crazy trick
I love playing Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed on Xbox 360 and Wii U but on PC however it's downright unplayable especially on certain tracks where the game will crash easily when it came to water textures or textures in general in Adder's Lair with you racing on Lava so I had to play the game with every single setting to the lowest which made the player experience unbearable while in other games I played on PC I had no issue with. The game isn't built for up to date hardware and I'm hoping this game gets patched to fix these crashes but sadly Sumo Digital is owned by Tecent so I sadly not touching this game again.
