Soooo I just finished watching The Untamed and BOI LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THIS SHOW. First of all, the music has no right to slap this hard. After hearing this song for 50 episodes (and losing a piece of my soul every time) I KNEW I had to give writing an English version a shot. I focused more on evoking the emotions and imagery of the original Chinese versus providing a literal translation. I hope you like what I've done!

What is the meaning of it. i really can't understand
@@lilyofthevalleyandtheriver they have a term "cut sleeve" that comes from the story that one emperor was gay and his boyfriend fell asleep on his sleeve and in order to not wake him up he cut his sleeve. Since in the novel it's not censored that Wuxian and Wangji are a romantic couple it's clear. The sleeve was in the style that Wangji wears and we know his sin is being in love with Wei. Also "bloodied blades are your reprieve" means that they tolerate them being together and say nothing to Wangji because he is an outstanding cultivator.

@kpop thirst @@lilyofthevalleyandtheriver I... kinda disagree? or that this particular line likely has a dual meaning, because that line "you wear your {} on your sleeves" much more resembles the English idiom, "wearing your heart on your sleeves" which basically refers to someone who shows their feelings openly/or as the dictionary states "make one's feelings apparent." Basically I took this line to mean that in the worlds point of view wwx's sin are obvious and it is apparent that his sins have "exposed his true self" but by saying "to the world" the lyrics are implying that the world is wrong or misjudged. also the "reprieve" that the "bloody blades grant" in the next line specifically means to essentially delay or suspend punishment for a time so it likely alludes to the wwx's first but temporary death and the first siege.
also, not that I'm a position of authority on Chinese (so take this with a grain of salt of I'm wrong) but in a quick search on some of the more literal translations of wuji by other artists, the lines these two seem to coincide with do seem to generally refer to the question of "good and evil" and "wwx's death"

I am indian but love this drama Omo I though it is kdrama after seeing it becomes my favourite and then I seen this is cdrama but it's my favorite
Just finished my fourth run through the animation. I’ve read the novel and seen the live drama countless times. This song still makes me tear up. How I wish the author would come back to these characters and write some extra content from where the novel ends.

As a german speaker I watched the show with german subtitles and the translation for the song never really made sense there to me...sometimes the sentences felt so strange that I couldn't believe that this was what was really sung, or just sentences that didn't really made sense in themselves.... I just finished the show and searched for better translations to really get it, so thank you :)

I usually watch Hollywood movies and dramas but this drama The Untamed was the one and only drama which made me cry. I can’t recall how many times I cried but almost every moment when Wuxian and Lan Zhan share together with. I wouldn’t give a name their relationship but it’s a deep bond they are sharing souls each other even without words, their expressions do communicate. This is my most favorite drama ❤️ everytime when I hear this song and it’s flute version, it pierces my heart 💘

If I'm right, this picture was taken when wei wuxian wanted to take revenge after they killed the people he was taking care of... he also was angry when he thought they also killed that small boy (forgot his name). Also the lyrics are so soft.. I also Wish I knew Mandarin xD. I needed to use English words in order to understand what they were talking about in the series but it didn't stop me from watching it I usually just turn it away if its not English but the series got my interest and I kept watching it.
