I understand that there's a pandemic going on, and it's dangerous for everyone to be outside, but man it must be freaking great to go to Disney today. Smaller crowds (smaller in general) and shorter lines it must be amazing to just go into a ride without having to wait for 2hrs for what's basically a 5minute thrill. lol
Jack Paul Roush just because the risk is lower for young people doesn’t mean it’s non existent. Also, they still have to worry about contracting the disease because they could potentially pass it on to people who ARE vulnerable.

SettingItToWumbo issue is the way he was placed 9n the mountain would mean they would have to literally remove a massive chunk of the mountains exterior to fix him which would cost s lot, look terrible, and would make the rides foundation possibly unstable :/

This is a Must Ride even if you get sick!!! I was absolutely terrified but it was so Cool. I took chewable meclizine before and after and still felt nauseated and dizzy for about an hour after. I dont regret it. My kids loved it and rode it 3 times. I will probably do it again one day
This one was one of my favorites. I got on this ride *SEVERAL* times. If you’ve never been on it and you plan on riding it, you won’t regret it. It’s worth.
A cast member spotted a small crack on the supports, and if they kept it a A mode (which means it moves), it would worsen and would probably fall down down and break the attraction so they put it in B mode (which means not moving) so they can keep guest safe.
@@MrGodsChaos back in the day the yeti actually used to swing down toward the train and swipe at you with the lights on. Now they have the lights off and some strobes to make it look like it’s moving but it’s actually stationary right now. And yes he is so large, the mountain would have to be disassembled to fix.
Absolutely love this ride 😊 the theming, and also its thrills! The scariest part is definitely the fast backwards part. But I love the mountain feeling and the yeti lore. So great

I remember going on this for the first time when I was 10. A couple years before this, I was talking to this kid at school and I had never been to Disney World before and he was telling me what it was like. He said something about a ride where you go through Mount Everest super fast and see a yeti and go backwards. At the time I thought he was making it up to sound cool and I was just like “yeah right”. But then when we went to Animal Kingdom a few years later, while we were in line for Everest I realized WAIT HOLY CRUD THIS IS THE BIG SCARY RIDE HE WAS TALKING ABOUT, IT’S REAL AND I’M ABOUT TO BE ON IT. I tried warning my family because they didn’t know, but they were convinced that I was either believing something a kid made up or confusing this ride for a different one. I literally tried to climb out of the seat when they put the lap bar down. At the end of the ride all they had to say was “……we didn’t know.” Ok then lol. I’ve been on this again since then and I love it now so it all turned out fine:)

Love this! But as a former Disney Cast member, it pains me to see the cast walking in the attraction with their backpacks, lunches, etc....We were never allowed to bring our personal items "Onstage". I know, they have backstage access to their break room, etc. And NOT ONE looked at the camera and waved or even acknowledge you. So sad.
Yes . . also a former Cast Member (Disneyland 72-79) and I also noticed everything you did!! Very sad . . as a Cast Member you were always 'On', here they are like 'meh' . . very sad, the magic is dying . . .
So I actually went on this ride 2-4 times and it was scary, but it was so thrilling, so I can understand why people were scared of going backwards and forwards on the ride.
Fun fact: Coming back up the big drop you reach up to 3 gs which is more than mission space coming in at 2.5. If you’ve ever been on this ride you can feel it coming back up the big drop.
We were actually there just 3 days after you! We just got back from Hollywood Studios. Disney is by far my favorite place to be. So many thrilling rides and great food! Too bad the lines are back to being insane lol.
How does this ride compare to Space Mountain and Rockn' Roller Coaster? I love Space Mountain and Rockin' Roller Coaster and don't like big drops and roller coasters
@@MMcCoy-yh4ho the concrete base of the yeti cracked less than a year after the coaster was build. He is no longer able to move like intended and instead he is still and they flash the lights to represent a movement. Due to the construction of the mountain and the way the coaster was build with one thing on top of the next they have not been able to fix the concrete base. They would have to remove a huge portion from the mountain and the track from that section. Google a video of him from the first year. He would move and swip at the coaster car as it went by. It was really amazing animatronics.
@@MMcCoy-yh4ho The Yeti is fine, it works fine, the foundation beneath him is not. It cracked and if the Yeti was to keep operating as normal, it would cause severe damage. So the problem isn't that the Yeti doesn't work, it's that he works too well. So why don't they fix it? Well the ride is designed in 3 parts, the Track, The Mountain, and the Yeti. To get to the Yeti to fix the foundation, they'd need to take the mountain apart. It's a lengthy and expensive fix, but according to Imagineer, Joe Rohde, he will fix the Yeti some day. So they shut off the animatronic, put in a Strobe Light and fan, and labeled it B Mode. Most fans call him "Disco Yeti" because of it.

I enjoy low crowds as much as the next person but it being this empty makes me a little sad. Part of the fun of Disney is enjoying it with others! I’ve met and had conversations with some great people from around the world when I visit! Oh well, hopefully we will return to normal soon. Be safe if you attend!
Back when the ride opened the giant yeti used to move and reach for you but after a few years of doing that it got damaged so they added strobe lights to give the illusion that it’s still moving
I'm really confused on this ride or maybe it's your camera y'all were going up and then the ride stopped and you started going back down but how did you end up in a different place going down? As it was not the same scenery as when you were going up

The difference is Mission Space is sustained g-forces. On a roller coaster you only feel the g-forces for a short moment.

I enjoy low crowds as much as the next person but it being this empty makes me a little sad. Part of the fun of Disney is enjoying it with others! I’ve met and had conversations with some great people from around the world when I visit! Oh well, hopefully we will return to normal soon. Be safe if you attend!

Back when the ride opened the giant yeti used to move and reach for you but after a few years of doing that it got damaged so they added strobe lights to give the illusion that it’s still moving

I'm really confused on this ride or maybe it's your camera y'all were going up and then the ride stopped and you started going back down but how did you end up in a different place going down? As it was not the same scenery as when you were going up
