- Mike owns and operates a fairly large business, but he does his part by maintaining the fleet of trucks his business relies on. The vast number of tools and knowledge makes him ready for anything. It was such a joy to talk and hear from such a senior veteran of heavy diesel. Mike, I can’t thank you enough for inviting me out! If you enjoyed the tour Mike took us on, give this video a Like!

I love this guys philosophy. He's extremely knowledgeable, and humble. He has a mix of tools, he's not loyal to a brand, just whatever works well.
You said exactly what I was thinking. He seems like a super nice guy. I like his variety of tools
Loyalty to a brand only gets you one thing: loyalty to a brand.
Hope those kids he referenced working at his shop know how lucky they are to have an opportunity to wrench and learn from someone like Mike, with his demeanor and knowledge. Soak it all up. This guy has his shit together.
Yeah they definitely struck gold working with him!
So that’s what 30+ years of buying tools looks like. I like this guy. 👍
You forgot the 100's of thousands of dollars 💰
What a great father figure. One thing people don’t realize is how dirty diesel shops get after a while with all the soot, oil, diesel, dirt, rocks, salt, rubber, and grease from the trucks just gets everywhere you wouldn’t imagine. Huge respect from a fellow mechanic.
Yeah people don’t understand how dirty we get at small repair shops. I get sent to go do dealer work every now and again and i come back without a spec of dust on me compared to how i look at the end of the day in our shop. I’m one of 2-1/2 guys lol. And our lot is gravel so our shop floor is always filthy and we make a lot of dust with sweeping. Shit sucks but I love my job lol
@@iankerr1549 Yeah I'll get done working on trucks for the night and wash up, but just from putting tools away, moving cart, etc. before I leave I'll need to wash up again. Very hard to keep a diesel shop spotless vs automotive.
Need a box of cedar floor sweeping compound to deep dust down while cleaning up.
Such a cool, laid back guy. That man has forgotten more than most techs will ever learn.
I’ve never seen 1 man with so many tools 🤣
And all immaculately kept clean.
He has an incredibly nice shop and it’s clean and organized. He’s taken good care of his tools and boxes.
Absolutely
It’s so humbling to see a real great man this gentleman’s ora just flows through him his spirit is beautiful and gentle I guarantee he never tried to screw nobody over and his work is TOP OF THE TIER!!!
It was a fun tour forsure! 👍
Wow. This was insane. I wish I could work under this guy. His setup and cleanliness is amazing. I think this is the best collection I’ve ever seen.
Definitely many years of buying tools!
That dude is a pro.
And I would loved to have a father figure like this man.
I love the US General cart with snap on stickers all over
Yeah, I saw that. I thought they were snap on it first.
@@mn4a15 same! I have the snap on one at work and the US general at home. Both get it done!! Somehow the USG feels a bit bigger..
i put snap off and strap on ones on mine
@@jnic2003 wow bro that's so cool!
Said US General cart's extremely popular; even the high end shops typically has one or more
He has one of the finest collections of eclectic tools, which enables him to fix nearly everything that comes through the door.
Not that it would take away from his knowledge but he works on all his own equipment. That's why everything is so clean.
He's smart enough not to have anything DPF/DEF/SCR.
It's also great to see someone that teaches his kids and grandkids.
Ah yes, the Saturday morning ritual is now complete.
😅 Glad I could help
Same. Except Saturday night for me. 😂
I want to thank Mike for showing all of his tools. Exellent!
Wow, that man has “ALL the Tools” and his organization is stellar. He knows where everything is located. Just Awesome
The little tip to use the digital angle gauge on the transmission input shaft alignment is gold. I would love to work under this guy for a little bit.
The amount of B-roll and then part numbers and prices..... you are putting a lot of time into these videos. Thank you, they are awesome!
Glad you like them!
I really liked the cranberry SO box setup. More so than the EPIC. I don’t know why that colour is not more popular. The carbon fibre wrap is a great touch I might copy. Thankyou for the video.
I totally agree! I’m a sucker for cranberry
I have the snap on roller box unit😊
Your videos just keep getting better and better keep it up
Appreciate it!!
Wicked sweet tour! Many, many, many years of knowledge gathered up in that shop! Dont worry about the Mic issue, youll get it figured out, we'll all still be here in the meantime man!!
Thanks Matt! I’ll have to keep dialing things in. Always appreciate you watching 👍
@@ToolBoxTour your more then welcome! Always a pleasure watching these tours🙌 i have yet to get any sort of mic setup going for myself🤦♂️
Hi another entertaining toolbox tour he seems like a very nice person to work for and learn from
I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but that cranberry is definitely the best colour.
I’m a sucker for cranberry as well!
My son got around to buying a 3/4" ratchet set so he is now a diesel mechanic. He had always wanted to be a diesel mechanic but he didn't have big enough tools.
I wish him luck on his journey!
Your son doesn’t need all snap on tools I got a set of 1/2 drive harbor freight sockets that have outlasted my coworkers snap ons I’ve never broke one also got a chineses set of 3/4 sockets that I use for nuts on the pinion nuts
honestly, this is hands down the best and most complete tool collection ive ever seen.... kudos to this man for putting it all together over the years and i bet thats over $100k in tools easily
Good morning, I have been impatiently waiting for another video. Thank you
Hope you enjoyed it!
Wow that is the nicest cleanest shop Mike takes pride in what he owns what he does it show's when I looked at his tools and boxes even himself the floors I could here the wisdom of my Father when I bought my first set of snap on wrenches at a youg age take care of your tools keep them clean if you have to wash your hands after touching your tools you are not taking pride in what you do he wouldn't want to do business with you thank you for sharing mike and his tools and shop with us 👍😎👍
Great video. This guy is old school, love his set up. Nice and clean shop. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
That's my favorite one so far. Love his demeanor.
Glad you liked it!
Great review of tools, knowledgeable guy who tells you straight. Thanks for the tour Mike.
Wow. That a lot of tools. Great setup. Thanks for your time.
Thanks for watching!
Loaded with years of collection... all brands... another great episode!
Glad you liked it!
The most chill mechanic I’ve ever seen. He would be an awesome character in movies.
think this is the first time i have seen a tour with some tiger tools in the box. picked up a couple of their tools...game changer!
The best channel on UA-cam by far
Thanks Jason!
So nice to see a Equipment shop that is Clean and Organized. That tells me more about there Professionalism toward there Work than their Toolboxes alot of times.
I strive to be a diesel tech like this man one day
Glad to know that I'm not the only mechanic that isn't bound to one brand of tool...you buy what you can afford and what works! Great video : )
God I wish I knew a fraction of what this guy must know after doing this his whole life. A lot of knowledge for sure.
Thank you for the video! I was looking forward to. Have a nice rest of your weekend!
✌🕶🔧
Thank you! You too!
This guy is epic. Much better than the other videos on this channel where they rant how great they are.
I’ve been binge watching your videos since I discovered your channel. You have a gift for doing this very well and for allowing each person to speak their mind and explain their view point for what they have spent so much effort building for themselves. Kudos! This video in particular is in my opinion excellent. This fellow has such a calm demeanor and is easy to follow along with. The explanation of the various tool brands and the parent companies was enlightening. With such a wide range of application skills he really gave us some lessons to dwell on. I really enjoyed this video!!!
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Mike definitely did his homework on tools, that’s for sure.
I really enjoyed seeing what all the master heavy guy had in his shop I like seeing the older guys who have decades worth of tools because they have things I never would’ve thought of and I always am pausing to check Amazon to see availability. You’re fueling my habit lol.
Next to the guy with the Tank, this was one of my favorites. Thanks , love these videos, except I always end up buying a new tool after watching one.
WOW, supper organized which I like! Thanks for identifying some of the tools and adding a link, much appreciated!
Of course! I do it in every toolbox tour on this channel. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Mike for your time! Cool tour! Mike seems like a good ole guy with a lot of knowledge and years of experience. I would love info on that home made shop press.
Will you ever expand to full shop tours?
Thanks for watching! Box tours take like 3-4hrs to film as it is 😅
Keep up the good work, really love finding the actual maker of snap on tools
More to come!
Ive been a shade tree mechanic 21yrs. I now have a decent sized 32x48 shop. I have a decent selection of tools but this video says otherwise 😂 it also makes me feel good hes not afraid to own harbor freight stuff. If it works it works. About to check out that Hercules security bit set. 😮
Great set up and everything is so clean and the shop to thanks for the tour safe travels
Thanks for watching!
😮 Damn it'd be hard to buy this fellow a tool for Christmas. He has a great mix of brands to fulfil his needs. No bone headed loyalty to any brand, just the best tool for the right price. Everything is immaculate too! I bet he has many happy customers.
I agree! He has everything!!
I’m always waiting for the next episode 😎
More to come!
Awesome guy. Awesome shop. Awesome video.
Awesome tour
Man I love these videos. Must
be a huge commitment. You got
my attention
Thanks for watching Brian!
He has the tools and it’s as clean as if never used before 😮
After 55 years my tools have lots of ware on them but are clean 😊
This guys tools are sooooooo clean it’s crazy like I’m not hating at all and yes I clean my tools too and wipe them every day and I have the pink snap on breast cancer plier set and I clean them every day but they’re stained. The chrome on his wrenches looks immaculate !!
Again not hating I love how nice his tools are but man I wish my chrome looked that shiny
Seems like a cool guy. Lots of good stuff
Sweet shop. Great tool collection.
I enjoyed this video alot.
Thank you for these videos
My pleasure!
Man this guy I'd love to hang around with for as long as he would let me lol. Guys got the same tool buying model I have.. "it's a tax writeoff and if I sees it I want it I buy it"
Great video!!!
Insane tool set
I'm gonna pick up some of those wobble plus style capri chrome extensions to try out before I get some snap on..I'm a serious diy so I've only got limited snap on stuff..
Those snap on needle nose you said looked wierd are also my favorite in my box! I had to order them off the truck cause my dealer said he didnt have them and had never seen them but they came in off back order after like 2 months and it was worth the wait
Now that’s a tool collection, thought I had a lot makes mine look like a starter kit lol
What you have is most likely all you will need for a successful career. This guy has all these boxes and tools just because it’s fun to collect. Focus on making the bread and working safely with the right tools and equipment.
The light mod is a MUST I don't know why the made it the WRONG WAY. Gonna do it today
Sweet setup
Awesome!
Wow awesome
Lets gooooo! Psyched!!
that dark red is beautiful. will be a timeless color.
3:56 "They work. I'm not scared of 'em"
Nice to hear that out of an older wrencher's mouth. A lot of people get worried about what other people think of their choice of tools.
Yeah he didn’t have much bias at all. He is a man of value and knows where to look.
3:31.. just 1 of those VIM "Magrails" will hold double the ratchets laying there...they're the best hands down
10:54.. ARES sells this too... you can take out the tray and carry the bits you need and leave the rest in your box.. they clip in..
11:47. moisture and pH probably...
20:10.. I have this in 3/8" for engine building..so awesome, great priced pro grade tool....
28:05.. I've got those Orbis pliers too... they're great if you don't want to pay $60 for the same thing from Knipex
I need to get me some Orbis pliers. They look nice!
About to flip my icon light, thanks for the tip.
Glad to help!
They do a good job of keeping that shop clean.
Yeah they do. It was spotless
I learned from an old timer like him when I was a kid he was soft spoken and had endless knowledge about tools and heavy truck . 30 years later I still apply what he taught me . This younger generation doesn’t know when to shut up and listen ! That’s why they don’t know shit
It’s amazing to be able to learn from someone with a ton of knowledge.
The blue point ratcheting wrenches are actually Williams. Snap on owns them
Legendary setup
Agree 100%
At 39:05 the light gray board would really help people. It measures zert fitting threads.
I worked on semis for 8 years… how in the hell do you keep your tools looking so clean?
That's the thing when your in business and have tools, it can cost you more if you don't have it but need it to get the job done.
I agree 💯
Lol, I like how he takes a US General box, blings it out so you cant tell, then sticks Snap On logos on it.
And its really ez to buy the name plate Logo's.
my Brother In Law and myself had SeaDoo Watercraft for over 20 years and for Christmas i used to go to Sears every year and buy one of every 10mm Socket to put in his Stocking BTW we Vacationed together for years and i always did all the Wrenching at the Lake house they had a way of getting stuck under the Engine Mounts inside the watercraft i usually pulled. engines in the Winters to Refresh m Replace and / or Rebuild SRT did great jobs with Longblocks on price and Shipping right to my shops loading Dock Easy Peasy System with a prepaid Return Core Exchange with the same box they sent the new ones in
Glad he showed those capri extensions, I was just about to buy the snap ons😂 not anymore
Awesome! I’m going to pick up a set as well. I love the trays they come in.
Now that’s a beautiful shop
I agree! He keeps that place super nice
It was only for half a second but he showed the Knipex 98 55 knife and I finally got one. It’s a thousand times better than using those small seam rippers and trying to push them through layers of thick wire wrap. Sometimes they snap off inside and it’s a huge pain. This knife cuts like butter and has a comfortable grip.
Very cool Mark! Just be careful with that knife - it’s been known to be very dangerous and some companies prohibit it’s use because of it. 👍
@@ToolBoxTour I agree, it’s super dangerous for its intended purpose of cutting heavy gauge wire insulation. For wire wrap it does just fine and requires almost no effort. I never pull towards myself just in case it slips. Having a comfy handle like that is so nice. The pros far outweighs the cons.
The mid length or machine i think is what they are called wrenches are more handy than ppl would think i want to get a set that will be my next purchase when we get a new dealer i use my bosses often nice collection
57:39 The good ol Devil Analbeads. A very usefull tool
You should do a video with Jimmy Making it Work! He got rid of most of his Snapon and got an Icon box that is awesome! He uses Capri, Gearwrench, Texton, Vim, and other awesome tools that do the job as good as Snapon! Capri and Gearwrench are just as good as Snapon! The rest prove it! Jimmy is in Kissimmee Florida at All Car Auto!
Awesome!! Thanks for the tip!
LOVE IT
This dude is cool
I wish my life was half as organized as this guys tool boxes lmao
Saw the Packers tool. Are you in Wisconsin? Just wondering because i live in Wisconsin and would love to have you do a video on my box.
I’m based in utah, but I travel a bit for these videos sometimes. Hit me up on instagram @toolboxtours
I love that snap on blue color
We have very similar taste in tools!
That zip tie part is wild. My jaw dropped when I saw $350 and then the other one was $15?!?!
Yeah. Huge price difference!
I have the bahco wide mouth adjustable best I’ve ever had
Also.. his homemade press looks exactly like one I just bought from an old guy🤔🤔 lol
Nice very Nice....
