Indeed, you're absolutely right. In my view however, I believe that such course is not worth it from a perspective of value for money. Especially for CFA Charterholders as they are able to get the CAIA Charter for roughly 1400USD.
I have a specific question with the hope you can advise. A while ago I got CISI level 4 Diploma in Investment Advice, but now moved into private markets as an IT Product Owner and need to enhance my domain knowledge. Which certification would be better to go for overview? Unify by CAIA or CFA?
@shipka9141 I am not familiar with the CISI curriculum but it seems to me that it leads to the Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification, which can also be a path for you to consider. In any case, if you're looking only to have a superficial but broad level of knowledge about Private Markets, I think that the CAIA would be best but it goes way too deep for what you want. If I would be in your shoes, I would seriously reflect on the reasons why you want to have this broad knowledge and what is your purpose. This is just me, but I personally would not care about committing to a study schedule just to have a broad knowledge of a topic. I want to know it all or I would chase something else. Hope this helps you to make a decision. For more questions, I suggest you connect with me on LinkedIn and we'll talk through there. Cheers
once you have the CFA charter, the marginal effect of having other designations such as FRM, PRM, CAIA etc. is negligible and therefore no worth it (source: personal experience)
UniFi by CAIA is also doing around 15h certification for Fundamentals of Alternative Investments and with the cost of 795$.

According to the HR professionals I have queried on that topic, it looks that way at least with regard to job applications.
Absolutely true for employability but not for upskilling :)
@@yashdhikle4825 Indeed.
Just to be clear, this is a separate certificate from CFAI rather than new CFA charter regime with specialised streams including for Alernatives?
@@kashansamad197 the CAIA Charter is under the responsibility of CAIA association not CFA institute
