The stm ones aren't too important for what I need but the others would be life savers, I know nothing about this area of expertise but some electronics knowledge and trying to fix a few machines using those chips that I think are the culprits
This setup may help you, but if the ROM chips are damaged or faulty, it would probably be better to write some new ROM chips with the appropriate data and replace the old ones.
Dear question, I have an EEPROM memory with a specific number that I could not find in the market. The memory size is 256 KB. Can it be replaced with another? It does not. have to be the same number, but of course the same size, or it must be the same number and the same size. The one is damaged is one time only read memory"TMS27PC256-20NL". The one i will used is UV EPROM"M87C257-20F1". With same size of course i will transfer data with programmer from TM to M8. Can do that because idont have TM eprom. I have M8 eprom.
It depends on the pin configuration. I looked at the datasheet for the old chip (datasheet.octopart.com/TMS27PC256-20NL-Texas-Instruments-datasheet-10254030.pdf) and the datasheet for the new chip (www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/389/stmicroelectronics_cd00000523-1204360.pdf), and I think it will work as a replacement.
G'day Jacob. I got a question, What software did you use to convert ROM files to BIN? I thought I ask as I got the T48 EPROM programmer as I want to program a ROM hack I did to a game cartridge. Any help would be appreciated.
The ROM file should be a raw binary file already. You may just be able to rename it to .bin and use it as-is. There are probably some other tools out there that will let you inspect the file to see if it really is just binary, or if there's some extra header information in the file. A text editor might show you that, especially if it has a binary mode.
Sometimes people set them outside in the sun, but it's not as reliable as using a UV EPROM Eraser. You can find them on Amazon, Ebay, AliExpress, Banggood, etc. This is the one I bought, and it has worked so far: amzn.to/3FpPxpm (affiliate link)
As long as this reader is compatible with your ROM chip, you can read the binary data off of it. You could then decompile the machine code and fix any bugs you want.
I've just bought a T-48 programmer and your video was very helpful. Thank You So Much!!!
I'm glad it helped!

Do you know of a site where you can download ROM chip programs?

@@JacobExplains thanks for your time i appreciate that i will try
Thank you.. Can I Program with the TL866 Plus using windows 11?
I don't have Windows 11 on any of my computers yet, but I will let you know when I try it.

How can I erase the chip with UV, is there a special procedure?
Thanks for your reply

Where do I get the software at?
sir ive tried copy the efrom but feiled, solution please
I would love to get in to erom Science
Can this setup detect and fix eeproms and similar memory carrying ics with bugs/faults in the programme that's on the chip?

where do you get the xgpro progam?
I got it from the manufacturer's site, which is www.xgecu.com. I'm not sure if this software will work with all TL866II Plus clones.
Total froud programmer not working
I’m sorry you’re having trouble with yours. I’ve heard of people having issues. Maybe I just got lucky with mine.
Email? To ask you a question about eeprom thank
