How I Wash My Car
I was washing my car anyway, so I figured I'd put together a quick video showing my process. Here's a list of all the equipment I use:
- Two 5 gallon buckets. You can get these at many different stores.
- A smaller bucket for the wheels. It really doesn't matter what you use.
- Grit Guards amzn.to/3qe0jJT (affiliate link)
- Wool Wash Pad (for the top half of the car) amzn.to/3q6zRBP (affiliate link)
- Bear Claw Wash Pad (for the bottom half of the car) amzn.to/3q737sc (affiliate link)
- Adam's Car Shampoo amzn.to/3q8vVR4 (affiliate link)
- Meguiars Rim Brush (I couldn't find my exact one online, but just search for "rim brush")
- Jelly Blade (or equivalent)
- The Absorber chamois amzn.to/3GWhMgx (affiliate link)

Turn on the radio and set it to channel 16 2. Turn off the radio 3. Press and hold the button while turning the radio back on. 4. You will hear the "Power on - 16" message, but in Chinese. Perform the steps again to change back to English.

    I have this set. They are okay for what they are. The price is right. The fact that you can program them is very positive. CHiRP will not work with them. I had to use the poor Radioditty software. It does the job, but no copy and paste???!?!? Eeewww. You can add more than the 22 channels. 99 is the max I could see. That is plenty to play with if you plan to operate outside the lines. I'm not condoning it. I just like the option. I had one knob that was really tight. Otherwise the seem to perform fine. Short range of course.

    G'day Jacob. I got a question, What software did you use to convert ROM files to BIN? I thought I ask as I got the T48 EPROM programmer as I want to program a ROM hack I did to a game cartridge. Any help would be appreciated.

    • @JacobExplains
      @JacobExplains 3 місяці тому

      The ROM file should be a raw binary file already. You may just be able to rename it to .bin and use it as-is. There are probably some other tools out there that will let you inspect the file to see if it really is just binary, or if there's some extra header information in the file. A text editor might show you that, especially if it has a binary mode.

    Dear question, I have an EEPROM memory with a specific number that I could not find in the market. The memory size is 256 KB. Can it be replaced with another? It does not. have to be the same number, but of course the same size, or it must be the same number and the same size. The one is damaged is one time only read memory"TMS27PC256-20NL". The one i will used is UV EPROM"M87C257-20F1". With same size of course i will transfer data with programmer from TM to M8. Can do that because idont have TM eprom. I have M8 eprom.

    • @JacobExplains

      It depends on the pin configuration. I looked at the datasheet for the old chip (datasheet.octopart.com/TMS27PC256-20NL-Texas-Instruments-datasheet-10254030.pdf) and the datasheet for the new chip (www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/389/stmicroelectronics_cd00000523-1204360.pdf), and I think it will work as a replacement.

    I bought a set of these for our Race Team, 6 Radios, 2 For Drivers, 4 for the Pit Crew. I used this this weekend for the first time and had a terrible experience with them. To start with it seems a handful of other teams were using Channel 1, But Comms to the pits seemed fine. We changed to Channel 14 on all the radios for the remainder of the day, and unless i was in direct sight of the other radios (within 0.5m) i was unable to get radio contact. Is this because Channel 14 is 0.5w as in the video? Changing to a 2w channel will allow the radio to work for a further distance?

    • @JacobExplains
      @JacobExplains Рік тому

      Yes, channels 8-14 are only 0.5W of output power. I recommend using channels 1-7 or 15-22 for something like a race track. Since these radios only go up to channel 16, that limits your options a bit, but you should be able to find a mostly clear channel. You could also program in some privacy codes to at least filter out the other people on the channel.

    • @JacobExplains
      @JacobExplains Рік тому

      Your RT22s are probably programmed with privacy codes on each channel. The flashing green light shows that they're receiving the signal, but they're not opening the squelch so you can hear it because it's not using the privacy code the RT22 is listening for. If you have a programming cable and a Windows machine, you can use CHIRP to read the default settings, remove all the privacy codes, and write the new settings to the radios.

My wife doesn't want to be tethered to the base station at home. You can also make a duplex repeater out of two GMRS radios, using a Kenwood K1 connector and put the set in a tree at camp to reach out farther around your camp, using the little FRS as a remote mic to connect to the temporary repeater in the tree.
