Who would’ve thought, right?!
I don't usually comment on youtube but this one really helped me.

THANK YOU! Did not know the reverse midi in-out plug part hahah!!

Thank you very much. I am useing Yamaha Clavinova digtal piano, and want to use my pc for recording my playing. You explained very simple way. Let's try and sure to give you the feedback.
Thanks, let me know how that went!
Very helpful video! Thank you!
Best tutorial
Appreciate it :)
Thank you very much for your video. You have been very helpful !!!👍👍🎵🎵
It looks like the driver step here is only required if you are using a Yamaha cable/UIX. Other cables likely come with their own drivers which should interface with your software. Cheers!
i have a problem, with the newest driver it need the gidital piano to be conected, and my midi-usb seem to doesnt be valid to that. Is it my fault or i need another midi-usb?
pd: im windows user

I searched the s*t out of youtube to find this chi mai arrangement and I couldn't find it! Can you please post it? All the other have the boring ending. I really like this one! And if you post the sheet music too it would be great!

I have a Yamaha PSR-280 and I'm trying to connect it to my PC with a Roland UM-ONE mk2 (MIDI-USB-cable) I followed your tutorial but when I try to install the driver, it says the device is not connected. Any ideas how to solve this? (on the cable the USB-light is on, the MIDI-in is on but the MIDI-out is not on)
how to use yamaha ypg-235 as midi controller? I plug it in but it doesnt show up even after I put in the PC modes. Im reading the manual right now but nothing seems to be working?
I have really the same piano actually
It was very helpful thanks a lot!
Hey man, great video, thank you! I wanted to ask you if it’s possible to play REAL-TIME different sounds than what FP-30X provides via VST into a DAW for example. I am sure there are better sounds out there than what FP-30X has available, that’s why I am looking into this. Lastly, will the audio be output from the monitors connected to the computer or do the monitors have to be connected to the FP-30X directly?
Did you find out by now? 🤞🏻🙏🏻
Is it the same for a korg wavestation software installed in the pc ?
I have a. DGX670 and I would like to download more songs and styles from Yamaha can you make a video showing how to go about, thanks
Damn thank but what’s the piece you played for background music?
Thank you. Chi Mai by Ennio Morricone

Hi, I have Yamaha PSR i500 and trying to connect Mainstage 3. Problem is, after connecting the cable i am not getting output in yamaha keyboard.. but i can see data flowing in the mainstage app. I can see the chords name which i am playing but no audio is coming out. I can hear only default instrument sound of the keyboard. Please help
Hi, I have a Yamaha P-95 and I just can't figure out how to get it to send signal to my mac. I just bought a FORE MIDI to USB cable to connect to my piano, I have the out and in reversed, and my computer is recognizing that there is a USB MIDI interface connected; however, it WILL NOT send signal no matter what I do. I read that this cable should be plug and play but that didn't work so I downloaded the software you covered in this video and it still doesn't work. I am using FL Studio 21 and I have an Akai MPK mini keyboard that I have connected before so I know my settings are not off. Everything is enabled and my MIDI options tab in FL reacts to plugging in my P-95 calling it a "USB MIDI Interface; Generic Controller" yet when I press notes, it sends 0 data to my DAW and does not respond. I'm becoming exhausted and discouraged, do you know of any fixes?
Hi, what is the name of the melody in this video?
Regards!

You're amazing!! Thank you!
Why thank you!
I have a question for connecting my piano to my ipad: Do the yamaha pianos use power when you connect them to ipads?
Where does the sound comes from?
If it’s midi, you will need to pick a piano under software as an instrument in your DAW (Digital Work Station, like Logic Pro, etc) you can select any sound your software has for Midi. To record the actual piano sound, you’ll need to record your piano like a microphone or ‘line’ instrument, but you don’t get the benefits of the Midi data
@@KH-mq4rg hi , I already did everything in the video, but still can’t record audio from the keyboard ( i mean the original keyboard sounds) can i do it by this cable alone ? Thanks
Hi, what kind of keyboard are you using? You will need to install software drivers from the keyboard manufacturer. If you have Mac you will need to change your sound to Multi-Output Device, on windows I'm not sure, but probably something similar@@KhalidQahtani-md7im
@@KH-mq4rg thanks for replying, I’m using yamaha psr 3000, my question is can i record audio direct from the keyboard by using this cable ? Or do i need to get an interface ?
@@KhalidQahtani-md7im You can record directly to your computer without an interface, but it depends on what you want to record:
1. **Recording MIDI**: If you're just recording MIDI data (the notes you play, but not the actual sound from the keyboard), you can usually connect your Yamaha PSR-3000 directly to your computer using a USB cable if your keyboard has a USB-to-Host port. MIDI data is just information about which notes are played and how hard they're pressed, so it doesn't require an audio interface.
2. **Recording Audio**: If you want to record the actual sounds from your keyboard (the audio), then it gets a bit trickier. In theory, you can connect the headphone or line-out jack of your keyboard directly to your computer's line-in or microphone port using the appropriate cable. However, the sound quality might not be the best due to potential noise and lower quality of the computer's built-in sound card.
An audio interface comes in handy here because it's designed to capture high-quality audio from external sources like your keyboard. It provides better sound quality, lower noise, and often has features like phantom power for microphones if you need that in the future.
So, in summary:
- For MIDI: No interface needed, just a USB cable.
- For Audio: Direct connection is possible but an interface is recommended for better quality.
i know the music but forgot the name somone remind me ?

i have the one that only have speaker and mic so i guess i can’t connect to it
My Yamaha YDP 164 doesn't have a MIDI port. It do have a USB port but u can't use the piano as a midi?
Thank you!
You bet!
Hi, I wanted to know if you know how to install it on a chromebook ?
Thanks in advance !
I don't think you can download applications on a Chromebook. You will need a PC with a Windows or MacOS operating system.
Hi. I would like to play midi files from my laptop and have the sound come out in my yamaha psr 620-hoping the sound quality would improve. Is that possible? If yes, what would I need? Thanks for taking the time to read-and hopefully reply.
Awesome.How to get virtual sounds
i used aux cable to connect the Yamaha 463 to the computer as a sound card since i dont have one but the keyboard sound coming from the fl studio is seizing like some it doesn't sound out the same time from the keyboard voice pls sir what's the remedy to this.🙏
How about the latency ?
My yamaha digital piano have latency.
I/O setting 64 samples in DAW, but still have latency
same for me, with the fastest settings (64 samples) I have a slight delay. it's just not playable
What's the name of the background music in this video? 🎬

I have a Yamaha CVP-701 with MIDI in/out but without Bluetooth. I have a WiFi adaptor and can download drivers. Is there any way for me to output video? If I can output to my PC I can view on a number of TVs that I own.
Thank you, it is very clear! And I have a question: when I see your video, my conclusion is that it is possible to connect directly the yamaha keyboard to the macbook pro and use the recording softyware (Logic Pro or Garageband) without using an audio interface between the two. Is that right?
maybe to old to get help here but... i connect my midi in to my midi out and midi out to in yet when i try to load the driver it gives and error 5600 and unable to complete is there a setting on the piano i need to activate ?
Thanks for your excellent explanation! I hava Yamaha clp 625 and it has USB to host. I cannot understand how to connect my PC to my Piano. After connecting a usb, Can I record my playings on my usb or laptop? Pls help me. Thank you
i connected my electronic keyboard ( Yamaha P-60) onto my mac. using Logic Pro X , i want to know how to play a midi file and have the output onto the electronic keyboard. all the you tube videos focus on playing the electronic keyboard and recording via Logic Pro. So i sort of want a reverse situation.
Hi. How can I make a video with sound? Have I connected video and sound to a different program? Thank you.
I did the exact same thing as you, but the installer keeps telling me it doesn't find any device. I don't really know what's happening, my piano works and it's on, there's even a blue light in my USB, everything is connected...
Thanks!!! Yamaha CLP 250 can do that?
can you do one for casio piannos please

I bought a p 45 and the velocity is super low. Do you know how to fix it?
I got the error 25001 yamaha no device connected. How do I fix it?
What if I want to use the sounds on my yamaha keyboard as an instrument? How do I do that?
Good tutorial. If let say we could connect it the MIDI USB adapter and the YAMAHA driver, could us use for self learning the piano for me as an adult beginner?, thanks for sharing.
What's the song playing in the background?

Does it work on yamaha clp series?
I hope you’re well my friend,
Thanks for this guide, but I wanna ask: is there any option inside the program that allows me to update my piano? Cuz there are some sound issues and some people told me try to update it maybe the issue will be gone after the update
Could you do a video on connecting the piano to a notation software
Hey, I have yamaha PSR-F52. Does it have midi support?
Everything makes sense except for why you state and show that the Midi OUT cable must be plugged into the Midi IN port and why the Midi IN cable must be plugged into the Midi OUT port. Why reverse them? Thx.
Do you know if this would work with a Samsung tablet s8 ultra?
Thank you
Does Audacity for mac support midi ??
@vaskomedia Im not super techyyy with the instruments, but I have a Yamaha P-71. Does turning my keyboard into a midi mean. that I will be able to translate sounds from my midi software into my keyboard? I have an Arturia Midi Lab that came with Ableton + Arturia Midi Software. Can I download that software to my Mac, connect it to my Yamaha, and produce more sounds on my Yamaha? My question might be silly, but I don't understand this stuff 😂. Thanks!
how do you get it so that you can import midi files into the instrument?
