I've been trying this technique. Here are a few things (I think) I've learned: - make sure your base layer is extra thin so the paint from the cup will flow over the base - It helps if your napkin is larger than the canvas you are working on. If the paint saturates the sides it can be difficult to get all of the angles pulled in for the lift. It's much easier to get a good lift if the sides of the napkin are free of paint. - pearl or metallic is really important if you want to have good lacing. Thank you Fiona. Your are an inspiration for the entire world of creatives.
Fiona? You should be very proud of your technique AND SKILL! I know I'm proud of you and VERY IMPRESSED! You do these flowers better than ANYONE I have ever seen! .No One comes close to your stunning blooms! You da man!!! Whoa-MAN that is! YOu do it like a BOSS!
So very happy you posted this. I took notes, watched and re-watched. You are an excellent teacher, and talented artist. Much love from the east coast of Florida, and thank you!
I don’t know how I missed this video but I’m happy I saw it today. I am intrigued with your flowers but I haven’t been very successful with mine. You just answered my questions about consistency. THANK YOU!! Looking forward to live video today. You’re a great teacher.
Thank you,Fiona, so much for your instructions. I love your work and videos. This was the first type of painting I really wanted to try and get right. Thank you. I love your flowers- they are just beautiful.
Ratio of 3:2 - whether ounces or millilitres. It’s quite liquid but you add one to one paint and that’s where it thickens. Thank you for sharing Fiona! That’s the best explanation of consistency that I’ve seen. I’m going to do it today because you make the best ever flowers! I’m a teacher and I know exactly what you wish for your students - that they get good results. You’re a lovely person and a great artist. I often just let the paint in my containers dry, then I peel the paint out so it doesn’t go down the sink. I’m going to try some of the tulip cups because they allow more controlled pouring, I expect.
Dear Fiona, you're a mervellous teatcher !! thank you to explain your technic with so much details !!!! Your Flowers are so shinny and so 3D effects!!!! I'm so happy when I saw your videos!! Thank you for your patience with all of us !!!
I know this was a year ago, but I just wanted to say that all three of the canvases are beautiful! They each have their own personality. I love the white one because it looks like snow on top of the flower, and I LOVE snow, but all three are stunning!😊
Honestly ? I think stretching this particular one, helped make it even more 3D ! Most times that doesn't work on these types of flowers but that little hiccup, and your solution, worked 1000% !!!!!!
This was very helpful. Thank you so much for taking your time to explain it. Love your work. I have tried a few pours, not very successful, but I am determined so I will keep trying.
thank you Fiona your flowers are very beautiful and thank a lot to share your technics it's really nice to see the process and the birth of flower i enjoy your vidéo have a nice days!
I am from far east Japan and I really apreciate your video, thank you. I enjoy every day, because your teaching is inspiring, so I will try in near future. Thank you again.
Quedo bellísima!!! un efecto tan especial le da la servilleta!! Felicitaciones.!!! que bello seria formar en un gran lienzo una composición de ellas entrelazadas con tallos soplados!! Todo un desafío,.......verdad Fiona? Me encanto!!!
I love this flower, Fiona. Even more I love that you took the time to teach us so patiently the process. Thank you for all you do. ❤️🌹🌹🌹. That black and white one that is nearly dry is so beautiful! I liked them all!! You are definitely the Flower Queen! 🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️
Thank you SO much for sharing your art and this video has been really helpful. I have tried your Black & White flower and they did NOT look like flower's at all. I am gonna try again with your helpful hint on how to achieve this look!. You make this look easy and that's a beautiful gift to share, you're awesome!
Thank you so much for your time and explanations. I haven't done any art for awhile, and now are feeling enthused to get back into it. And for me now as I go forth this is something I think I will be able to manage in between the chemo timetables.
As of June 07,2021. I just happened to catch a video. Your work is SO AMAZING !! I AM HOOKED !! I'm also so grateful that you're teaching this online. Now I have to binge watch to catch up. :) Your paintings are some of the most beautiful art I've seen. It looks so intricate and difficult. Thank you ever so much for sharing. Many blessings to you. :)
Spectacular, love it! You are the Best at Bottle Bottom Pours, you have it down like a scientist. You really did a great job on explaining every step of this technique. I think what caused 99.99% of my frustration on my pours that failed, were because I thought if I did every step, product, canvas size etc that the You Tuber Artist did, it should turn out the same. This will never happen there are too many variables. Once I accepted that and just used the Videos as Ideas, Introduction to New Products or Techniques, I was much happier. Don't get me wrong, I am far from even coming close to your amazing artwork but I'm having fun. Thank you Fiona, your the Best
So beautiful. Thank you for taking your time to show us how you do it. It will still take a lot of practice for the rest of us. I think pulling that napkin up right has a lot to do with it. 😉
Just stoped in to say Hello. I started pouring again and if course I wanted to see what you were doing. I always smile when I see and hear you. Love your work. Take care. Peace to all of us.
In the USA they sell those cups and call them tulip 🌷 cups. They sell them on Amazon. Thank you Fiona. Out of everyone I've seen attempt to make the flowers like you, you are the expert and make the most beautiful ones.
Hello, when you took the paper and said oops, I felt that you could be Brazilian because it is a common expression here in Brazil, for example to express surprise, admiration, as a way of greeting ... his work is incredible and soon i will experiment with several of his paintings as inspiration. I am grateful that you share your techniques and congratulations on your art 🌹
These are so beautiful. I tried last night b4 bed and 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️it was sad lol after I get back from hobby lobby today I’ll give it another go👍🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🥰👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You’re my favorite pour artist to watch! Can you imagine four of these flowers, each different colors on black background on a wall next to each other arranged in a square. That would look so nice.
That's the first time I understood about mixing paints. You are a great teacher. Very lovely flower. You mentioned something about varnish at the end. I didn't quite get it.

I wish I’d have found you when I was living in Nuremberg Germany a few years ago! It would have been worth the 7 hr trip to Slovinija! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nice flower gold white and black 3D method. Very NICE. And how you can move it to center it on canvas. Added touch to center of flowers as well your creative touch as well! 😁. Everyone has their comments as you stated. I like it as you made it. So relaxed .

This is so awesome! Did you ever try to make a flower on a longer canvas, and make a stem to the flower, using your napkin technique for the leaves maybe? It might yield interesting results.
Thank you SO much for this wonderful tutorial Fiona, and a VERY special THANKYOU for mentioning me. Yes, I have managed to purchase 100 of these cups.
