When I was a kid we moved to Maryvale. It was a very nice middle class neighborhood. Apparently we lived in the Dover but we had a double carport not a garage. Also had a pool. Dad, mom and four kids. We had plenty of room but then again that's when kids used to play outside!
It's so weird seeing Buster Keaton walk through my house....
That’s your house no way 😮
@@jesrovalenzuela1346 It's the exact same model, paint, etc. Built with that first neighborhood, so not my lot, but looks exactly like it!
What did the other two occupants do with a half bath? Did they go into the master bath to shower? That seems to defeat the purpose of having a master.
Incredible that he was still taking falls at...well I guess he was about 65 years old here. A legend! Love him.
peter lovstrom Too right! I wish I had the know-how to put together a reel of him taking falls right through till he died. Man, did he hit the gene pool jackpot!
66 actually. But Master Chan is 67 now and still doing his own stunts.
Norman Wisdom was doing this in his 70s
Priceless...
We lived in Maryvale for 12 years then moved back to PA, but I tell you it was the best days of my life!
We lived at 64th drive and IndianSchool road from 1961 to 1965. They built Maryville high school then. 67th Ave. was the western border of Phoenix, 3 blocks away. My brother went to the school after it opened, previously having attended Carl Hayden high school.
We paid 10,500 for the Lexington in 1957 on 49th ave. Lived there until 1964.
Buster is AN ICON ⭐️❤️

Hahahaha! I cried laughing at the first 30 seconds already! Buster is so funny!
Indubitably ! He was rather droll !! 🤣
Wow I heard of people that were easily amused but youre in a complete different category!
Buster Keaton’s universal comedy always pleases 😂 Love his work and love his creativity ❤
Love Buster Keaton
The standing back flip is impressive......ALL of his stunts were far more impressive than any stunt guys we have today. Just due to the sheer volume of them......I mean, COME ON....THIS GUY WASN'T HUMAN.
He was drunk.
@@alphaomega8373 He was never drunk when he worked.
Dang most of my tios and tias have had some of these houses it's so crazy to see this.
It's where I grew up. I was 6 years old when we moved there from Illinois in 1960. 61st drive south of Bethany home rd. I left after graduation from Glendale high school in 1971.
GHS still shoving out grads and Dazzo's Dog House is still across the street!
That was fun. Never saw this before. Thank you.
The sad part of all this is the "Shannon" is now worth $425,000. Phoenix real estate is absurd.
it isn't "worth" $425k. that's it's market value. the dollar is worth LESS today. to reconstruct that property would cost way more than $425k. as it was, materials are no longer available, and in addition it would never pass today's codes.
The human condition: greed and stupidity.
@@suppylarue220 Codes are a scam.
For years, barely anyone knew this existed!
Legend actor
Wow really nice movie.
Le grand buster keaton est unique
I live in a very similar house 4 miles from Maryvale. the crapola hollowcore doors are the bane of our existence!
I grew up in a John F. Long home built in 1973. The el-cheapola assholes used a hollow core door for an *exterior* door, heading out of the garage to the back yard. It died by 1979 after a bad hailstorm in '78 beat off the paint, and had to be replaced.
Parents paid $11,000 for a JF Long home back in 1964. Lived on Kimsey Ln until 1975 in south Scottsdale.
I bought my 1st house in Maryvale when I was 29. $55,000.
Behold the Master even in his old age. What would it take to put this guy in the hospital? It's like he's a trained gymnast made of rubber.
I very much agree! He must have had a background in gymnastics. I did gymnastics in high school, but I could never do the kind of stuff he's doing in this video - and he was in his sixties!
5:50.. someone placing back the fallen placard.
But what happened to the nice elegant blonde lady Buster locked in the garage?.....
She has been sold...
Is there a full film somewhere?
+Boogster Su Hi Su - I got this message on May 4th, but never got a response to my reply. Said that I would love to have a link to where people could buy it, am still waiting to hear back.
Mr. Hall,
It appears that you have downloaded clips from Laughsmith Entertainment's copyrighted restoration of THE HOMEOWNER, as well as taken information from my commentary track. As I was the one who found and discovered the film, you could at least give me a mention or credit for this.
Love your Phoenix History website BTW.
Here is what I found on Laughsmith Entertainment www.imdb.com/company/co0026466/
+Boogster Su Hi Su - You can get the full film on the two DVD disc set called Industrial Strength Keaton, it is readily available on Amazon and other places! It is on Disc two under the Industrial Films section.
Really great collection of rare and hard to find Keaton televisions sketches, promo films, archival footage, commercials and the like!

12.000 Dollars for a house includig Buster? I will buy it!
Yes! And even in 1961 it was very inexpensive for the time. And Buster included!
Acoustical ceilings? WTF are they? Apparently one of the high quality products used in the Shannon. Buster Keaton was a comic genius.
Acoustical ceilings would be the paper/cellulose drop ceiling blocks (I think they could be just glued on as well instead of using the metal framework). This is a cheaper way of finishing than to have plasterers come in. It's advertised as absorbing noise and cutting down on the echo in your home. Today, I think the ceilings are usually down with drywall, the same as the walls (in the USA, anyway).
Acoustic, or popcorn, ceilings are a lightweight material (until the mid 70s contained asbestos) sprayed onto the ceiling to reduce noise. They look like cottage cheese and were pretty cool at the time but are an eyesore today. Many people have it removed
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
brilliant
Is this the area around 83rd and Indian School? I’ve not lived here very long.
Yes
Bet that neighbourhood hasn’t aged well ?
I lived there in the 70s and it was a very nice neighborhood. Sadly gangs moved in and there was a lot of drug activity, it went down hill for many years but I recently viewed the house I used to live in online and they did some very nice upgrades. Looks like they are at least trying to fix up the neighborhood. Amazes me it still has the same kitchen cabinets! They just painted them
Man that Shannon was $10,405 FURNISHED.
@5:15 alltime perfection
Does the 'shannon' come with the buxom blonde?

Buster worked up until right before he died.
Looked beautiful back then. So sad to see how disgusting it is now. The worst scum of society lives there now.

You are what you make it, there are still beautiful homes there, it good house , bad house and good people too
These houses are better built than those new cardboard homes,, a little TLC
And you live in a lovely trailer park.
Still wearing those silent movie oversized clown shoes? Seriously? Did he think that was still funny?

It was just part of the character. In real life he wore very fine clothes.
