Why didn't they show the pigs being killed
I think it is because 1. Reign Buckingham, the farmer, does not actually butcher the meat.. it is done at an external site by a different group of people unrelated to his farm 2. It would be too traumatising for the audience. Some of the ways in which the pigs are killed are pretty horrific and would probably deter people from wanting to buy pork and ultimately shut down the business.
