There's a good reason why some reviewers avoid Pagani at this point - Merkur, Cronos and San Martin are usually without any QC issues, Steeldive/Addiesdive may have questionable bracelets, but with Pagani you get more often than not dodgy bezels, frequently too tight or too loose clasps, crowns which don't like to engage with the threat and sometimes even misaligned markers.
I have had three Pagani designs and all three bezels were perfect. The issues I had was with the clasps. One was okay, the second was fixed by me, and the third they replaced the whole bracelet.
You recently posted a video of the new Explorer II homage saying it has the best bracelet yet, in my opinion this one is. It's the same bracelet, yet the end links aren't one solid piece, they are female end links that connect directly to a link, allowing the bracelet to drop IMMEDIATELY after the lugs end. I prefer this, it's the reason I hate Strapcode bracelets, and I'm wearing one right now on my SKX013!

I have the black version ordered. I’m hoping that the red stem on the crown is complimented by the red triangle surrounding the lumed pip at the top of the bezel. I really enjoyed your video, and had ordered mine before seeing it. I hope I don’t have any quality issues with mine, but even the not-so-great things that you went over, don’t lessen my desire to get it and love wearing it. I’m super happy and excited that I pulled the trigger on this one early. I’ve also already ordered a Tudor style rubber strap and Tudor style leather strap for it. I’ve waited a long time for this watch to drop....I’m thrilled!!!

Oh, wait a second....I just realized the San Martin is $325.....sadly that’s a bit out of my price range at the moment. So, if my Pagani is a mess and I have to return it. The play on the bezel can be fixed. I did it on my blue 007 homage after watching a few instructions on UA-cam, and it’s totally doable. You pop off the bezel and underneath is a bended pin which must be shortened and bended outwards. Bezel back on and now... zero play. And I’m notoriously left handed.
I just received mine yesterday that would be May 14. They’ve taken care of the polish on the sides and made it smoother and uniform. They also change the white lettering on the face to match secondhand stat color whatever that color is gold or yellow dark yellow whatever that is it matches. When I ordered the watch I told him in a note about what you brought up on the size of the watch it what other stations talked about and they told me they were changing the process it would be a while before I got mine. They threw in a nato band for free with it very happy with the watch. Indexing the dial there’s no play in the alignment is perfect

Good Day; I purchased the grey model 1761. Looks like a homage to the sterling silver version. I have had it for about 2 months now and it works perfect with a NH35A movement. The only thing is that the pointers are a lot whiter than the light cream white indices. Also the pointers Lume could be a lot brighter. There should be a review on the grey version.
Quick question Jason.... I bought this watch in March from the Trendy Mens watch shop..they said theycsent it but never did. Took 4 weeks on to them saying tracking isnt working ..then 2 days ago they say it must be lost and they have resent another. Only problem is they have supplied no tracking for this either. Never had this issue with anything on Ali before. Is there anything I can do?? Cant open dispute until there poxy 60 day timer runs down.
Unfortunately the only thing you can do is wait for it to expire as they set the delivery time so long in the future. However I would pester them until they give you a tracking number and make them aware you'll be starting a case with AliExpress
Having bought several Steeldive and a Pagani, all with zero issues, I then spent £1200 on a Longines and it was faulty out of the box - wouldn't even hand wind ! Will be sticking with homages from now on !
I just bout one. I know it's couple years after this video but it was on sale on AE so can't resist. Arrived dead, second hand does not move, hand winding, shaking, pulling and pushing the crown can't get it going. So, now sending it back to get refund. It's my third Pagani Design and already got a dead one. Probably bad luck on my part. I do like the look of the watch, I bought the black and gold one, it's really too bad the NH35 movement came dead. Bracelet felt kind of jingly, thin and cheap though. Maybe I will try another brand of the same homage as I do like the look.
Oh dear....the QC issues are worrying, and the bracelet seems a little rattly from the video. I think I'll stick with my humble Vostok homage build for now!
I wanted the red and accidently ordered the black instead. So I ordered the red on a try before you buy on Amazon and I really like it so I kept it and just got the black in the mail from Pagani yesterday. Like it enough to keep it as well. The red is better looking in my mind though.
I received mine this week. Initial impressions... it's a *very* pretty watch. I got the one in black and gold. I love the red pip triangle and the red on the crown stem. However, one of the rivets on the bracelet (not a removable one) was broken and the bracelet as it comes is unusable. Too bad. In person, the riveted bracelet is prettier than I thought in the videos. We'll see if they resolve that issue someway. The shipping was also a cluster-f*ck. They cancelled my shipment twice so it took 2 months to get to me. PD and the Trendy Mens Watch store aren't impressing me. The bezel has a very light touch, but I haven't noticed it moving while being jostled. Screwing in the crown is a little gritty. The case is pretty substantial. It's pretty slab sided, but it feels pretty comfortable on the wrist. I ended up putting it on a rubber bracelet from StrapCode with curved ends and it fits nicely, but I'd like to try it on its bracelet. The divers' extension is pretty crappy looking - has anyone had a try at removing it? Is it worth $117 US - not considering the bracelet issues. I think it would be more reasonable at less than $100. I think I'd look at one from one of the other more upmarket AliExpress vendors. This one is more of a fashion watch than a tool watch.
Do you think it would look better all brushed and a flat crystal with a big beveled edge? I do. I'm all about making these modifications on budget watches. This one I suspect has a 32mm crystal. If so, you have the full range of Seiko Turtle aftermarket crystals to choose from.
Do you feel that it is a good size for your wrist? I have a 6.25 inch wrist as well and I’m wondering if I should cave for 42mm or wait until I find something in 40mm.

Homages are just a filler for people who can't afford the thing they want. Having said that they often are a lot better value , for a similar look. But at the end of the day if you want that Ford mustang and you can only afford a fiesta , no amount of tweaking will replace the real deal. Again £90 for that black bay vibe ain't too bad, and despite the q.c issue , the watch itself is quite nice for the money. 30 paganis or the real deal, the choice is yours really !!!
Hi Jason, love your channel, i have a few Pagani watches and very happy with their quality, but i decided to give Benyar a try, i got the Tudor black bay homage in red, the price was 50$ US, for the price the quality is very good, i put it on my timegrapher and it’s +1 seconds a day , bezel has no back play at all, and it line’s up, no sapphire, no milled clasp, and i am not sure if the case is stainless steel did not say in their description, but for the price and what you get it’s worth it especially when the movement is accurate to +1 SPD.

In the fifties lot of watches were not stainless but were plated, i have a Lanco from 1961 and the plated chromed finish is coming off in some areas, I have 3 recent Vostok watches and 2 are chrome plated. Just for some context, I had to send my Ball marvelight watch back as it wasn't functioning right when it arrived and they replaced the watch no questions asked. All brands big and small run into QC problems from time to time what's important is how it is resolved.
Couldn't agree more! For a lot of people the first reaction is to write bad reviews for the piece but I think as long as its fixed, there isn't an issue

I've bought this in the deep blue dial and black bezel I think it looks amazing for the price, have the explorer 2 homage in my basket now and I'm torn whether to pull the trigger 😬

It takes some getting used to a 60 click bezel. My hamtum kraken h2 has a 60 click ball bearing bezel and it feels really odd when I haven't worn it for a while

I had a similar issue with the riveted strap on my San Martin & found out it was like that to be able to glue the strap with the rivets ! All very confusing:
If only they made a clear blue sunburst dial, would be killer. This matte dial not my favorite. I have and wear my Corgeut Bb58 with nh35, by which my only complain is the lack of AR coating.

Pagani cannot be recommended without reservations, to be honest. Its a lottery draw. There are many „nice“ watches but the thing is there should be a minimum standard of QC even if we are „diving“ under the 100.- mark ( $,£ or €, doesnt matter so much cause the current exchange rates are rather narrow: 1 £ = 1.17 € , 1€ = 1.18 $).
Unpopular opinion: I would rather put my money into the Benyar BB58, despite the case material controversy. The Pagani BB58 has QC issues which, to me, does not make it worth its price - a price which is nearly as much as an Orient Mako/Ray.
Jason please check brand Proxima on Ali! They had two models of vintage divers ( submariner 1953) with mercedes an with pencil hands, 40 mm, saphire, nh 35... I gess that those models will be san martin 1953 killer! Price is 130-135 quid, some models are with bronze bezels-madnes... No review of them in you tube yet-be the first!
AliExpress won’t process my payment with PayPal unless I send them a picture of my ID. Also tried with a credit card and they asked for the ID again. Can I trust this Chinese website? It feels odd for them to request a picture of my ID.

@@JasonTheWatchGuy A mate just had one delivered and he's not that happy either. His bracelet was fine, I think the problem with yours was they just didn't seat the pin correctly and it popped out. Not a problem at all. But he's very unhappy with the bezel. I mentioned the 60 clicks, but he has a first generation Orient Mako XL with 60 click bezel and no play. He says himself it's very bad and registered a complaint with Ali Express. Didn't see it personally but I'll probably get a look at it later. Maybe it's first production problems. Might be better to wait until they iron out the bugs before ordering it.

I think for the money it's worth it but obviously the San Martin is miles ahead in terms of quality but also price

I like it on wrist, I have 6.2 inch wrists. That being said I am used to wearing bigger watches so it really depends on your preferences

I have the Hulk version and have reviewed it. Absolutely love it myself, fits so well on my wrists and really does look the part too

Homages are just a filler for people who can't afford the thing they want. Having said that they often are a lot better value , for a similar look. But at the end of the day if you want that Ford mustang and you can only afford a fiesta , no amount of tweaking will replace the real deal. Again £90 for that black bay vibe ain't too bad, and despite the q.c issue , the watch itself is quite nice for the money. 30 paganis or the real deal, the choice is yours really !!!
Hi Jason, love your channel, i have a few Pagani watches and very happy with their quality, but i decided to give Benyar a try, i got the Tudor black bay homage in red, the price was 50$ US, for the price the quality is very good, i put it on my timegrapher and it’s +1 seconds a day , bezel has no back play at all, and it line’s up, no sapphire, no milled clasp, and i am not sure if the case is stainless steel did not say in their description, but for the price and what you get it’s worth it especially when the movement is accurate to +1 SPD.
The Chinese movements they're using are going to become very popular I think, they're getting better and better! It's the alloy case that puts me off

I will probably buy the Pagani version when they go on sale hopefully on 11/11 this autumn. I myself agree with you and would have preferred a stainless steel case that’s for sure. In the fifties lot of watches were not stainless but were plated, i have a Lanco from 1961 and the plated chromed finish is coming off in some areas, I have 3 recent Vostok watches and 2 are chrome plated.

Just for some context, I had to send my Ball marvelight watch back as it wasn't functioning right when it arrived and they replaced the watch no questions asked. All brands big and small run into QC problems from time to time what's important is how it is resolved.
Couldn't agree more! For a lot of people the first reaction is to write bad reviews for the piece but I think as long as its fixed, there isn't an issue

Do you or any commenters have any experience on sending money directly to Pagani in China for a watch that isn't on sale on any affiliate store AND having to wait? The estimated arrival date is over 30 days.
I've only ever sent money to Chinese brands through PayPal. The wait is about right however I wouldn't send it through any unprotected method.

It takes some getting used to a 60 click bezel. My hamtum kraken h2 has a 60 click ball bearing bezel and it feels really odd when I haven't worn it for a while

I had a similar issue with the riveted strap on my San Martin & found out it was like that to be able to glue the strap with the rivets ! All very confusing:

If only they made a clear blue sunburst dial, would be killer. This matte dial not my favorite. I have and wear my Corgeut Bb58 with nh35, by which my only complain is the lack of AR coating.

Pagani cannot be recommended without reservations, to be honest. Its a lottery draw. There are many „nice“ watches but the thing is there should be a minimum standard of QC even if we are „diving“ under the 100.- mark ( $,£ or €, doesnt matter so much cause the current exchange rates are rather narrow: 1 £ = 1.17 € , 1€ = 1.18 $).
I will be interested in seeing the loom. The one on honest watch reviews, the loom was not impressive and the hands didn't match the dial.
What's this fascination with lume? Nobody spends that much time in the dark (unless you're sleeping) and, want to see what time it is.

Unpopular opinion: I would rather put my money into the Benyar BB58, despite the case material controversy. The Pagani BB58 has QC issues which, to me, does not make it worth its price - a price which is nearly as much as an Orient Mako/Ray.
At least with the Benyar, it had QC which seems on par if not better than Pagani for this model, at a literal fraction of the price.
They benyar feels completely different in terms of bracelet and casing. Unfortunately you can tell the price disparity when on wrist.

@@JasonTheWatchGuy A mate just had one delivered and he's not that happy either. His bracelet was fine, I think the problem with yours was they just didn't seat the pin correctly and it popped out. Not a problem at all. But he's very unhappy with the bezel. I mentioned the 60 clicks, but he has a first generation Orient Mako XL with 60 click bezel and no play. He says himself it's very bad and registered a complaint with Ali Express. Didn't see it personally but I'll probably get a look at it later. Maybe it's first production problems. Might be better to wait until they iron out the bugs before ordering it.
