It feels so eerie watching this part and watching Phillip stumble on seven when counting in French, along with the melody being that of "The Ten Duel Commandments", knowing that (in the show) Eacker fired at seven, and Phillip died in his mother's arms counting in French.

Such a good crossroads song. This and the next one. He really could have chosen different in either of those songs and had his entire life change for the better.
His life might well have had a better end if he'd made a different decision here, but his decision to stay and try to get his plan through Congress was probably not a bad decision in itself. The world we live in would be very, very different if he had not gotten that plan passed, and it was something he'd invested a lot of time and energy into.
The NEXT decision you refer to, well, that's another story.
@@grelna Too too true. There is a give and take there indeed. His life would have improved but so many others would be impacted. The next song for sure is one with a choice he (and his family) could have done without.
