The AR500 plates are flat where they go into the pivot tubes. Has that been a problem with them swinging?

No, everything swings just fine. No issues with it.

What is the length of the spacing between the tubes?

    • @CountryViewAcres

      GenesisPranksters 5.75 inches between tubes.

smalltown442 thanks! Also, why does the stand have to be angled 20 degrees. The targets won't swing all the way around if straight? I'd be shooting a 9mm.

GenesisPranksters 20 degrees is just enough angle, so that gravity makes the plate swing back around and stop facing back at the shooter.

@@pekmekji The angle is the correct angle to assure that if the bullet ricochet they are directed at the ground and have little chance of returning back at you or off in a direction that is unwanted. This is pretty standard for targets and I have read 22 degrees is perfect. take that with a grain of salt as 2 degrees is probably not critical. But directing them at the ground is. The swing part of the equation is secondary, but also a factor.

If you only knew how cheap you could've done that yourself. Everyone has a friend with a cutting torch and a bandsaw or grinder cutting wheel. (for cutting tubing

Doesn't appear to be very "diy", nice kit tho, but you could of got alot more steel at the steel place and built more than what u got for ur money..

Most steel places aren't selling AR500 steel. It makes a world of difference in safety as well as energy dissipation/noise.

AR 500 steel is not carried by many local steel places and it is in short supply when the US is at war as armouring for vehicles often use AR 500. That is why people buy the AR 500 targets and then source the mild steel from their local shop.
