  • www.Viewtron.com - Watch this video to learn how to connect an IP camera to a BNC DVR. A hybrid Viewtron security camera DVR and a 4mp network IP camera are used to demonstrate.
    Viewtron 4K hybrid DVRs support the following security camera types: analog CCTV (CVBS), HD-TVI, AHD, HD-CVI, and network IP. Video resolution up to 4K is supported for BNC cameras and IP cameras. Users can mix and match any type of camera in any resolution.
    BNC cameras are hard wired to the DVR using RG59 Siamese coax cable. IP cameras must be on the same network as the DVR so that the DVR can connect to them. This is done by connecting the IP cameras and DVR to the same network switch or router.
    A unique feature of Viewtron BNC DVRs is the ability to designate a BNC port for an IP camera. This is demonstrated in the video demo using the DVRs simple to use interface and controlling it with the USB mouse that is included.
    These DVRs are the best solution for customers that have older analog CCTV cameras and want to upgrade to 4K BNC or 4K IP cameras. They are also the best solution for customers that need to mix BNC and IP cameras on the same DVR.
    Support for IP cameras opens up many possibilities for hybrid camera applications. Here are a few.
    ~ License plate capture systems for gated community
    ~ Wireless elevator camera systems
    ~ Wireless camera systems for multiple buildings, detected garage, barns, etc.
    ~ Upgrading from low definition BNC cameras to HD security cameras (BNC or IP)
    CCTV Camera Pros supplies these DVRs and designs complete video surveillance systems for home, business, and government. We ship all of our products worldwide.

    Hi, i have a question, i have a new analog Dvr (bnc connectors in the back means analog?) ., connecting the camera to dvr With baluns that have full RJ45 connectors for video and power , WOULD making a test connecting with a **CrossOver** Erthnet cable *accidentally* for a minute or two, would it damage any equipment ?? , the baluns at either end ? , the Dvr ? , the camera ? ., you know, doing that is crossing video and power in the loop. Please help ! Thanks !!

    • @cctvcamerapros
      @cctvcamerapros  3 роки тому

      RG, this is an interesting question. We have never tested using a crossover network cable with CCTV video baluns. I suspect that it will not work quite as well because of how the pairs that are used for power are doubled up. I tend to think that keeping the twisted pairs would be best. That being said, it would seem that a cat5 or cat6 wired via EAI standard Ethernet / TIA-568B would also not be the most ideal and that just straight pair wiring would be the best. I do not think that a crossover cable would damage anything, but I do not think that it is the most ideal either. I recommend that you avoid it.

      @@cctvcamerapros Thank you very much for replying and info, what happened is that the installler ran cat 5e., then when i was going to test the wires, i put the dvr on a desk, not its final location, and used a coupler as an extension to connect the installed run to dvr with what i thought was a regular straight through cable (it turned out to be a crossover cable/orange) just to test the installed cable(permanent wire from cam to dvr), and it was not working, the yellow light on the balun turned on, no video, so i got concerned and disconnected it, [way later after testing a couple of times -i decided to really take a close look to the wire (the extension wire the orange one) and turned out to be a crossover cable i bought years ago (never used) to interconnect computers], then i retest with another and it worked. What i mean is that the 'extension'/(the orange cable that was supposed to be a normal erthnet cable and turned out to be a crossover) i used to test , made the balun ambar light to light up and no video, also turned another video feed off when i retested it after putting a regular cable in another set, thats when i really realized the cable had something wrong -> turned out to be it was a crossover ! , bottom line, crossover does not work, but regular cable works !, ** my concern is, if anything might have got damaged ?? ** with the tests with that crossover cable used by mistake ., appears no , and also by why you say , but wanted to be sure, any additional comments ? Thanks

    Is there anyway to connect an Ip camera directly to an HDMI monitor. Or simplest way like maybe just a converter in between or something.

    • @cctvcamerapros
      @cctvcamerapros  11 місяців тому

      Unlike BNC cameras that can use a simple BNC to HDMI converter, the same does not really exist for IP cameras. Normally you need to use an NVR or video server.

    So I have BNC cameras (Does the brand matter?).. Is there a benefit to trying to upgrade them to an IP system?

    • @cctvcamerapros
      @cctvcamerapros  3 роки тому

      Hi Patrick. All BNC security camera brands work with our Viewtron DVRs.
      www.cctvcamerapros.com/Security-Camera-DVRs-s/1467.htm
      And now that RG59 coax can be used for BNC cameras up to 4K resolution, there is *usually* no need to switch from coax cameras to IP cameras.
      www.cctvcamerapros.com/4K-Security-Cameras-s/1455.htm
      I say usually because the latest Viewtron IP cameras support some amazing artificial intelligence functions that BNC cameras can not do. Person detection, car detection, face detection, facial recognition, license plate recognition, etc.
      www.cctvcamerapros.com/AI-security-cameras-s/1512.htm
      And, in order to take advantage of the AI software of these AI security cameras, you must also use a Viewtron NVR for IP cameras. The hybrid DVR does not have the AI software.
      www.cctvcamerapros.com/IP-Camera-NVRs-s/1472.htm
      So, unless you must have these AI features, we typically recommend that customers with existing coax cable in place, just upgrade to HD cameras and an HD DVR. The Viewtron DVRs support analog CCTV cameras too, so the upgrade to HD cameras can always be done over time.
