Hello brother, you are right - your caption was confusing. When you say you are not going to India anymore, it means you would never go to India as if something bad happened. If you had said, you weren't going to India now, that would have been perfect. I wish you find peace of mind, enjoy life and come to India when situations are safe.

Please avoid Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in monsoon. Landslides, cloud burst and floods are very common during this time and it is very risky.
Late Sep to Nov - mild winters
Dec to Feb - winters (snow and very low temperatures in many parts)
    March - spring
    April to June - summers
July to Sep - monsoons (risky)
    Hope this helps!

Good decision, Gabi! During the monsoon there are many floods and landslides in the mountains. The roads are often impassable. Right now in Uttarakhand they are telling everyone to stay home and avoid travel. Things should dry out by October. The high passes start to close up with snow in late November but up to 8,000 feet the roads are ok then.

Once again, nice video. I love DaNang and Hoi An, I spent 10 days in DaNang in May and once again stayed at the Seashore Apartment Hotel. It had been three years in between trips to that area and I could not believe how commercial Man Thai beach in front of the Seashore had been built up. Hey Gabi.
As in another comment above monsoons are not really the best time to go up to the Himalayas. The best time is Sept - Nov. And then you can head down to South of India, the spice mountains and give it another shot March-May.
I have been hiking in the mountains since i was six (yes my parents were irresponsible 😂) and you do get a lot of altitude sickness if you travel up too fast. But if you take it slow and stop at multiple spots on the way overnight your body will adjust to it.
Flash floods unfortunately happen a lit because of all the build up and construction.
Also you should try out the other side of the Garhwals. Places like Har ki dun and the Valley of Flowers 😊

Actually the northern Himalayas in India are not under the influence of the monsoon. There is a mountain climate instead. But it's true that this year we've had a lot of rain. See my comment above.

The best weather slot for the Himalaya is September October. Just as the monsoon relents and before the passes close. The harvests are coming in and there are lots of festivals. Good times all round.

July and August are in fact the best time to go into the heights of the Himalayas. Than surely the roads are open. But indeed this year we've had a lot of rain (and snow in the higher regions) and the level of the rivers and lakes are high, Dallake and Nageenlake (in Kashmir) levels are about half a meter higher than same time last year, when actually the levels were extremely low.
I wouldn't worry about altitude disease when you travel by road. This problem mainly occurs when you fly straight from Delhi to Leh. But if you ride first to Srinagar (or Manali, depending on which route you take first), stay there for a few days, your body will already adapt to a higher altitude. The main thing is to not rush and than your body will adapt automatically. This is how I use(d) to do it, than there is no issue whatsoever. I live in Srinagar. CU next year! You're most welcome here. 😉

The natural reason behind these massive disasters each year in Great, middle and lower Himalayan regions due to plate tectonics. The Himalayas are the youngest folded mountains in the world. They, indeed, move continuouly. Therefore, It's better to avoid during monsoon season which is from July to september. But, there are also anthropogenic reasons like deforestation, mining, climate change etc.

During 2020 Covid Pandemic lockdown, I stumbled across the music of Mizoram, India. I saw music videos in Zorimawi and MDM channel and I was impressed by their music. It sounded like 1970s USA. My 5 favorite Mizo Artists are the following:
    1) K Hminga he is like Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler combined
    2) Kimkima he is my favorite Indian artist in Modern times.
    3) C Sanga lived from 1974 to 2017
    4) Sangtei Khuptong
    5) Mami Varte
My 5 favorite Mizo songs are the following
    1) Zorinzuali Khiangte: Pawmalai Tingtang this song is like Stevie Ray Vaughan House is a Rockin or Stray Cats Rock this Town.
    2) Sangtei Khuptong: Di Ruk Te, this 2023 song is in disco form like Gloria Gaynor I will Survive
    3) Cassettes: E Khai, this 2021 song features slide guitars and sounds like Elmore James, Muddy Waters or John Lee Hooker.
    4) Kimkima: I zun ngaih lunglen Vangin, this song is like 1970s rock song from 2019.
    5) Zo Rock: Thahang Ngainhnobein, this song is like Scorpions Winds of Change.
Honorable Mention Anthem of the Hills.

Gabi, many tourist become very poorly due to the high altitude in the Hymalayers. Many of these have long lasting effects & some never recover fully.
It's imperative that anyone going there acclimatises properly in advance.
    You made the correct decision.

Good to hear you cancelled it. You should not do a himalaya tour during peak of monsoon imo. Go before or after or at the end of monsoon e.g. september or early october. Later on (november) snow will come at higher altitude. Therefore also don't go to late if you want to go high up because you don't want to be stuck in the snow on some far away place. Just google climate of the places you want to visit. You will see huge amounts of water fall July-August causing landslides etc. You will put yourself at risk by going that time so good that you postponed it!

    Hi Gabi,
I am Luckas, I am from Brussels, Belgium.
I spend 4 or 5 month months a year in India for 20 years.
I was very interested by your video about mental health.
To be honest, Mother India help me a lot against depression etc...
In Europe it's easy to stay alone be sad 😢 anxious 😖 etc...
But in India, people like to talk, they need to interconnect with each other. This life style suits me much better to fight the nasty depression.
It's so important to share your experience, your feeling. And to share the life of the person you are talking.
I will be in India from January to April 2024
Are you planning to be there ?
I will be very happy to share my impressions with you if you have a free moment.
    Thank you for reading me,
Take care, stay open and positive.
    Luckas

Perfect decision: never do a travel esp. A challenging one, if you are not in best mind and body 'shape'. Traveling is challenging, esp. nowadays. And, yes, do South India, awesime temples there, start at Kanyakumari, Madurai, Chennai with awesome carvings of Mahabalipuram nearby, Gangaikondacholapuram, the awesome Brihadisvara temple, Padmanabhapuram Palace ( biggest wooden palace worldwide mentioned in the Guiness book of records) in Thiruvanantapuram, Sri Ranganata Swamy Temple in Tiruchirapalli, all this Dravidian architecture is mind blowing!!! The south is awesome. Don't miss it🎉❤

If you work on your anxiety in stead of the depression it will help, so your problem is quite treatble and that's the good news :)
