You can use a piece of tape to start lifting the tissue back from napkin. I learned that when I was using them in my journaling. Just touch a piece of tape to the white backing and lift.
@@mirianamishra602 yes she is speaking of decorative napkins. They are usually 3ply meaning they have one printed layer attached to two very thin tissue layers.
I'm surprised you don't have to use a barrier between front and back of materials, so that the mod podge doesn't soak through. Thanks for sharing. Love it!
Gina I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if using a barrier between a t shirt would be ok since a tshirt material is more thin ot should or say porous. 🤔 I don't know. Has anyone done it. I'm excited to try this
I just bought alot of flour sacks at Walmart. I was wondering hiw to make them pretty for Xmas gifts. You've just made up my mind for me. There are alot if cute napkins out there. I bought 10 clean new flour sacks towels for 7.99. Now I know how to make them pretty thanks to you.
OMGosh! You can use personalized napkins from wedding's, anniversary's corporate logos, etc. I follow the 2 ply must separate thing...so as long as your paper is that thin top layer it should work? Yippee what fun!
This is a genius way to apply patterns and colour. Thank you for sharing. I’m in Australia. I’d like to see the offcuts of napkin used as a patchwork on fabric. Harlequin would be fun. Also the placements of the patterns placed diagonally of offset the item being applied to. Ie maybe just across a corner.
Im in northern California and. Moved back to central california. Its been humid. And then real. Springy. I just subscribed two weeks ago. I love our channel. Thank you. Peace Love and Harmony
How does it feel on the t-shirt? Is it hard and ridged? Obviously you would want to put a barrier inside the t shirt... right? I would use a dollar tree cutting mat the thin flexible ones that come 2 in a pack... but years ago hmmmm 1994 maybe... I had a cardboard t shirt form from Plaid! Back then the rage was heat n' bond fabric to clothes and the add puff paint around the outlines to accent the patterns. Like big poinsettia print that you paint and glitter up. We should do a come back craft of those so much fun!
I have collected all the "Animal Crackers" fabric I could find over the years, and I am so wanting to cut out and bond pieces onto some clothing and other projects. I would love to see those old crafting shows again.
@@NorthcoastPatty look up heat 'n bond here on UA-cam. There must be tons of tutorials! After you bond them just seal the edges with some fabric paint in the pointy nozzles not a paint brush... or you could cut out your design with pinking sheers.... super adorable!

Keep damp sponge on dish touch sponge with pointed finger & thumb then go to one corner finger on printed side&thumb on back side ply move them slowly apar t, repeat for each ply. Been doing this for years glad to see more mod podge still around😄happy crafting!
1. do i need to put a piece of cardoard between the tshirt layers? 2. how long after you do the mod podge should you wait before the 1st wash? 3. will the napkin 'crackle' after washing? i'm loving this idea on small canvas bags for the various holidays. ann

this is awesome i have been looking for this a long time, i thought it could be done with napkins but wasn't 100% sure, here i go for more fun upcycling cloths.

I have been thinking for the longest time that i wanted to do some projects over fabric and i didn't know if there was any glue for fabric, now I'm so happy! I have beautiful napkins i have brought from my country and I'm ready to start. My only question is, how do you do when the fabric is a dark color? Would you recommend me any kind of white paint or white marker to paint the part of the fabric, so as to make the design of the napkin pop up? Even over denim i think the blue color will make the napkin design, as it is very thin, fade away. Thank you for this wonderful video! I'm like... overjoyed!!!
I'm sure you could apply a layer of fabric paint (or use acrylic paint with fabric medium) underneath the Mod Podge Fabric and have it work and give you a different color base for your image, since the Mod Podge is basically a glue.
I did a search for this product and there are great ideas on using it and one of the ideas was fabric to fabric with this product :D. I hope this helps you

You can also just cut around that leaf napkin edge following the line of the pattern. So it will look painted on and not stuck on.
