I have never forgotten this, from years ago -- I'm a mom, I had just gotten off work, I worked a heavy-duty blue-collar job, it was horrible winter weather, so I was in my Helly Hansen rain gear on my way home. I was driving our old work pickup truck. My daughter had called and left a message at work, the SUV we had been looking for, for her, was on the showroom floor at the dealership. I drove straight there, and parked by the big window. I went straight to the SUV and opened the doors, I climbed in the rear to see the inside. It had a custom trim, custom paint job, custom rims, really nice little rig. Yes, I still had on my raingear overalls. The salesmen were all in a big glass room eating ice cream bars, I asked the receptionist for a salesperson. Yes, they could see me out there. No one came out. I hung around but finally left. I was planning on buying that car that day, right then, cash purchase. Olympia, Washington dealership. Kiss my a**.

This happened to me. I was working as a cashier for an exhibition of international brands. A man with old clothes came. The sellers of brands did not deal with him. Only one person dealt with him, and here was the surprise. He bought from the brand enough for two months’ commission for the employee. Everyone wished that he could provide the service to him. The view does not determine who is rich or poor. Some people don't show their wealth. .

My late brother in law told a true story about how he was driving the legendary Leslie Cheung around in SF. Took him to an Armani Exchange store. That's never going to happen on a world wide scale. People do judge and look down at others who are poorer than them, and creep up to those who are richer. But soon things will change as this wicked system will end. Money is peoples God. It's called the great reset, and Russia is playing its role at the moment.
I like the sales lady she has good customer service with etiquette... And the customer has a great sense of humor and she insist to contact the sales laday who never looked down on her!. Cheers.
This really happened to me. My boyfriend took me to a jewelry store and we were dressed in our casual clothes after hanging out. We walked in and asked to look at some jewelry in the meantime a guy came in and the lady went over and immediately started waiting on him instead because he said he was going to buy an engagement ring. The lady then proceeded to ignore us completely so we walked out of the store. We went to a second jewelry store stood there for 10 minutes no one would wait on us. We went to the third jewelry store and he told me to go in by myself and to pick out three different things and then he would decide which one he was going to give me as a gift. I was greeted by a very friendly young woman she took me over to the jewelry case I picked out three different bracelets. I went outside my boyfriend went inside and got me my gift. He came out and gave me a beautiful diamond bracelet. Then he went back inside for some reason. When he returned to the car he proceeded to tell me he asked for the manager of the store. He told the manager that he wanted to thank him for the wonderful service that he got and that young woman deserves a raise! He also told him the two other stores lost our sale because no one will come and help us. He told them people who live in Palm Beach get off their boats and yachts and go in casual clothes and no one will know they have the kind of money they have.
Not just race. They are very prejudice to the overall look of a customer. I don’t walk into a place like that not knowing what I’m in for. Just because I look like I just walked out of a barn doesn’t mean that I don’t have money. A good salesman only sees $. Race and dress has nothing to do with the depth of a person’s wallet. A good salesman knows this and treats every customer as though they were a millionaire.
Yep west palm beach has the super wealthy and the poor who live so close to each other crazy how you can go from a multimillion dollar Yacht to tamarind in just 10 mins.
Me and my mate who's quite wealthy were having a drink at when he said let's have a look at LV. He asked the saleswoman if there's a particular size in shoe and sneaker. That’s why you should give each customer the same respect as you would like to be treated. I’m not rich but I knew someone who is. We went house buying together and people had a hard time believing he could afford a million dollar home because he was in his twenties and we were dressed very casually, T shirt, khakis. Our clothes weren’t even ironed. Needless to say the real estate agent who worked with my friend to buy his million dollar home got an excellent percentage. The irony? Just several years earlier when I was with someone else who looked rich but was actually poor, the agents flocked to him only to later to find out he barely had a thousand in his bank account. I learned people really do treat you differently depending on how wealthy or poor you look. Note: I said we because I went with both of them but the house buying was not for me since I can’t afford anything. Just wanted to share a story on what I personally witnessed.
What people don't realize is is that younger people looking to buy something expensive OR us older folks, how we dress shouldn't matter. We could be lottery winners... Saving money for years....or inherited a bit of money. I know of a young guy....he was about 25 yrs old then, sweetheart of a kid...whom had inherited millions from his Step-Mom who had died. He was friendly with the security officers in the country club where Id worked as dispatcher on the property. I saw him a few times and chatted to him. He bought a $2++ million home up in the Estates, a huge 5,000 sq ft home. No one questioned him pulling up in an older model black truck. You'd never know he was worth so much. Real nice kid. The other 'rich' kids in the community had Porche, Mercedes, Ferrari's....not this young kid.
I had a long drawn out divorce, but finally it settled and I got a fair amount of money. I was a 40 year old mother of three. I walked into a model home I’d liked for a while, and not one sales associate even greeted me. As couples walked in, (man and woman) they were greeted and offered coffee. Finally, I approached one salesman. He was polite, but I sensed indifference. He seemed hung up on the fact I was a single…..DIVORCED…..female. He said banks are reluctant to give mortgages to my demographic and asked how I intended to finance the house. When I said “I’m paying cash”, he almost swallowed his tongue. They literally fell all over me, coffee, cakes, etc. That was 30+ years ago, things have changed regarding women.
@@mchapman132 Oh my goodness. That initial treatment must have been tough, especially when they shifted how they treated you once you said all cash. Yes all cash usually is preferred in house buying so you take out the middleman. But it was wrong of them to treat you differently from just your status. I would be so upset, i'd probably be tempted to go elsewhere to buy a home, but if that home was a rare find, that would be a different story. Still it really bugs me how mal aligned divorced women are. People automatically assume a divorced woman has problems. Not always the case, wish society didnt make these negative assumptions.
@@Divineeyereadings - I have several stories pertaining to bigoted treatment of divorced women. I’m not a womens lib zealot, but I do think women need to stand up and be counted. My eldest daughter was raped when she was 15, and because she was not a virgin, we were told to drop the case because she would be blamed for the rape, and dragged through the courts. That was 1989. Things are much better, but there’s still room for improvement.
That happened to me recently, I was buying wedding shoes for my daughter & the sales assistant couldn’t be bothered to help her, we walked out & went to the flagship store, where my daughter was treated like royalty, the original sales assistant missed out big time…I’d saved up for the shoes for a year & they were very expensive…you should never judge a book by the cover x
I really don't get why these sale rep act like this like bruh it doesn't cost anything to be nice!!! I know working in retail is hard especially when it's commission but like being an ass would only make tbe customers go away. Like you'd rather have some sales than no sales at all. When I bought my dress the rude lady tried to do the payment so her name can appear but i simply said no and waited for the nice lady 🙄🙄🙄 and the look of disgust she gave to me was amazing 🙄😂😂

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER judge a person by the way they look..... I'll tell you 2 stories.... 1. years ago, my boss worked at a boutique a young lady walked in looking like poor, no one wanted to help her except one kind sales lady, was very kind to her... she spend about 2 hours there....all the sales ladies were making fun of her and calling her names.... the lady walked out buying $160,000 and end up giving $20,000 tip to that kind sales lady, that sales lady quit in less than a month and opened her own boutique.... that customer became her customer for life... 2. A lady, was remodeling her house, didn't have time to fix herself walked out of her house without thinking twice about her appearance..... went to the mall to get few things needed for the house...as she entered the store, store manager was watching her and treating her as if she was a thief.....when she walked out of the store, her purchase was amazingly huge.
One of the biggest mistakes any salesperson makes , is telling themselves what a customer can or can not afford , simply by physical appearance , even before speaking with the prospective customer...just sayin.
This happened to me as a real estate agent in the Philippines. Our manager hijacked my commission. I was really discouraged afterwards. All the time, money, and effort I poured into marketing, touring the client, showing them the place, the sleepless nights and everything in between. If you're reading this and planning to buy a house, make sure your agent gets the commission and not their manager. You never realize the pain and hard work it takes the agent to sell a property.
This happened to me but on the opposite side. Years ago, as a college student I was working at a retail store on base pay and commission-part time. I had a full timer with me and two customers walked in at the same time. One was wearing old jeans somewhat dirty and a t-shirt. The other was in a suit. The full timer came to me and said you take the t-shirt guy. I was happy and my feeling this was someone that may be a good sales opportunity. The full timer kept looking at me and laughing a little. Bottom line is that my t-shirt customer bought 1000's of dollars on merchandise and his customer bought about 20 or less in merchandise. the full timer asked me how did I know. I said you can not judge someone like that. He said I learned something from me. I never forgot this.

Something similar occurred to a friend of mine. In the most expensive jewelry boutique of our beautiful city a plainly dressed, elderly lady walked in and asked if she could look at the most expensive and beautiful watches they carried. She was not badly dressed, but neither did her clothes look expensive, so no one seemed eager to serve her, except for my friend, who is gifted at making everyone feel welcome. This customer finally placed an order for 11 non-identical watches (different genders and prices). My friend inquired as to who would be the lucky recipients, grandchildren perhaps? The cusromer replied "No, not for the grandchildren but for the staff that has been taking care of me and my husband, who is an invalid, for many years and these are Christmas presents". This was many years ago, around 50, and people were very judgemental about what people wore then.
@@laurendyer8619 Yes, I did realize this was staged. Might have been a training video. My story is a true story, back in the day when people wore watches. Now, young people wear utilitarian smartwatches or their smartphones in jean backpockets...LOL In those days watches were like jewelry.
Many years ago I worked at petite department of Dillars before Macy's bought it and one day a nun came to shop, nobody wanted to approach her and I did. If I was off that day, they would leave without buying.
Same thing happened to my dad at a very popular jewelry store for my mom's wedding ring. He went in with sweat pants and a white t-shirt. My brother said the people working there looked very stiff necked and barely wanted to assist him but as soon as he paid it all in cash immediately other employees started being all smiley and "friendly" 🙄
I believe it. Even though this video is not real, I would go in the same way, gather some items and at the register pull out a big wad and say "I would buy this, but I feel some type of way." Then, walk tf out. And, not buy anything.
I worked in sales in a fine jewellery store. A couple entered, wearing bib overalls, cowboy boots, his wife was in a cotton house dress, they looked like hard working farm folks, not very well off. The manager told me to wait on them, he wasn’t interested. Well, they bought over $25,000 in jewelry……cash..(this was 1989).The roll of cash he took from his overalls was all hundreds, 3” thick. They owned a major farm, an airplane, with hanger and a helicopter. They were very, very wealthy. I made a fabulous commission. I was very polite and helpful to them, and they tipped me $100.00. I know of two similiar situations just like this. One of our salesman waited on a customer who was looking at the higher prices items in our store. This customer didn't look like she could buy bubble gum let alone anything else. As the customer kept browsing, our salesman kept insisting she look at the lower priced items. Our salesman who was getting impatient ended up telling the customer we had to verify her credit before showing her anything else in the store. The customer didn't say anything, but kept looking. Our salesman started talking to other customers "during" their conversation. Finally, the customer left our section of the store. She went in the main section and asked for the owner or the General Manager. The owner came out, and this customer asked to speak to him in private. She told the owner what she just experienced, and expressed how upset she was with our employee. The owner deeply apologized, but at this point, the customer had already made the decision she wasn't buying from our company. The owner again apologized. Before this customer walked out the door, she asked the owner to speak privately with him one more time. They went into a private office where this poor looking customer opened up her purse showing the owner her purse was full of $100.00 dollar bills rolled up. She stated she just wanted to show him she was able to afford the $40,000.00 dollars worth of merchandise she picked out, and she was sorry that she wasn't going to able to spend her money here. The owner fired this employee as soon as this customer left. I was very young when I witness this, and I have never forgot it. DON'T ever underestimate anyone who walked through your doors. You never know what they are able to afford. The reason I have wrote this story is because about two years later a young handicapped gentleman came into the store I was working at. NOBODY wanted to help him. I took the time to introduce myself and spent about two hours with this person. Even my supervisor was trying to get me away from this handicapped person. When this customer picked out what he wanted, it came time to settle the finances. The manager asked this person several times how he was going to pay for this $30,000.00 thousand dollar item. Everyone was becoming frustrated with this customer. I stuck with him. The customer asked to make a phone call. Whoever he called, he told this person where he was, and he has made his decision. About 20 minutes later, and man dressed in an expensive suit with a briefcase came in looking for this customer. They went into the managers office. They were surprised to see a very well dressed individual come in to help this customer. This person didn't want to look at any paperwork, not anything. Our manager asked how the payment was going to be made. This person put his briefcase on our managers desk, and opened it. All we saw was $100.00 dollars bill stacks inside of the briefcase. He pulled out 3 bundles ($10,000 packs), and counted out the rest. Everyone else in the store this person talked to tried their best to take the sale from me, or for me to split the commission with them. After the owner heard the complete story, I receive the full commission. End of story. Everyone from this point forward started talking to everyone who came through the doors! Never underestimate a customer! I have a few other stories I could share, but these two are the best I have seen happen right in front of my eyes.
I had fun experiences like these sometimes because I don't care about my appearance much, I just love watches and once wore a very cheap watch my father bought me while I was in school and visited a Tissot store, the very next day I went to the same site wearing my actual Tissot watch and a more refined look, the same guy attended to me and the look on the guys have and the experience was different on another level 😂. The moral is, people always go by external appearances and they do matter a lot I guess.
This brought back memories of when I used to work at a jewelry store. I was too sweet to stay past 6 months. The assistant manager was a lieing amoral shark and stole so many sales. From the snubs, the hovering vultures, the envy and little applause... this was a very accurate scene.
I once went into a jewelry store and told a clerk that I wanted to look at silver rings. The owner or manager who was standing nearby disdainfully sneered, "We don't SELL silver jewelry!" I shopped elsewhere and the store went out of business a few months later. I wonder why.
@@gunnarthorsen I went to a store and asked for pearl and silver jewellery haha. It was some big Chinese jewelery store at a big mall. The girl came to me, I told her what I wanted.
Years ago, I took a break from my weekly cleaning to run to the store. I was new to the area and noticed a small custom jewelry shop close to the convenience store. When I went in the jewelry store I didn't expect much in the way of service because of how I looked. But the people there could not have been more gracious. They became the only store from which I ever bought jewelry and I discovered them my first year after college. As my salary grew, I spent more. I also recommended them to my friends. They went from a tiny hole in the wall to a regionally recognized jewelry expert. If you own a business, treat everyone as if they are your most lucrative client. It will repay you tenfold.
LOL, to judge a book by its cover can be a costly mistake! I recall being a fleet manager at a dealership in the 80s in CA. I was busy but, when I finished I asked the customer that had been neglected... first apologizing then, asked how may I help you, sir? He asked how much for the trans am made into a convertible. The price was provided with an estimated turnaround date... he approached the counter pulling out his checkbook and signed a check at 10k over my asking price for me to deliver it to his location in florida; about 2 miles from our family home. Smilingly I thanked him for his order and he left. During the next six months he bought more giving me a vacation in different places. Because my associates ignored him, we became great friends. He owned over 30 different businesses. His airplanes were based at Santa Paula Airport. To treat all persons the same, can be beneficial to both parties! You can make your day great! Do your best all the time!
Happens to me. Love it when I buy stuff that those snobbish staff cannot afford. Adding this comment not to prove myself but letting folks know I walk into a store not to be judged just to shop. I kinda test the humanity of people and there's other places to shop. My money's green too and no, every cent is hard earned, not inherited, nor fallen from the sky. So I know what buying quality means and being treated respectfully adds to the value of the experience.
It happens to me all the time. I show up in shorts, T-shirt and a hat, while the sales reps are all dressed up in suits looking down on me. When the time comes and I buy stuff they can never afford, they lose their cool and choke. Haha.
There is a reason they have to be dressed up to even work there, but you can waltz in with your house clothes and know you belong. Some people never wise up to that. That isn't to look down on them but for them to remember they aren't to look down on anyone else.

As and "antiques dealer" - I was exhibiting at a show - when an older gentleman wandered into my booth and began inquiring about some of my most expensive items. He was dressed in very soiled work clothing - and appeared to be "financially unable" to afford the items about which he inquired. Never the less - I spent time showing him each piece, discussing provenance, condition, etc.. After approximately half an hour - he thanked me and said he would "think about" several pieces. I didn't give it much more thought - and continued with the day. That evening, just before the close of the show - the man came back - still dressed the same - and said he had made some decisions! He asked if I would give him a "better price" if he took several items. When he told me which items he wanted - I told him I'd be happy to give him a discount. He said he would pay by check - and that I could call the show manager over to vouch for him. We consumated the sale. When he left - the show manager told me that this man was one of the wealthiest horse breeders in the state - and spent thousands and thousands of dollars at this show every year! Moral of story: "Never judge a book by it's cover"!
I work as a sales assistant and most of my clients don't dress up like they can afford anything.. From the experience I have received from past 6yrs I have learnt that every customer must be treated like Beyonce. Some of my colleagues will ignore the one who do not carry expensive bags or wear fancy clothes, the ones they look down on are the ones who spend the most, customer service is very important 😊😊❤️❤️
Haha! Smart young lady. I often look bummy when shopping...who in the hell would I be trying to impress when shopping? Lol. Walked in Tiffany store and was snubbed by 2 people but the young lady that finally helped was shocked when I purchased $8,000 worth of jewelry. Same thing one day in LV store while carrying a Coach cross-body bad after leaving the zoo with my family...snubbed while walking around then a young lady came from the back and randomly asked if I'd seen some new line she really liked. She was so sweet and genuine. Bought 2 new LV bags, added personalized tags and cross-body straps for each (just under $12,000 total). Never judge a book by it's cover is true. I dress up for business and work only...other than that I'm running around in jeans, hoodies and tshirts 😉☺️. Your customers will look for you after a while if you're nice. There's certain reps who have snubbed me in the past and I never forget them or to ask for someone else when I show back up again and they try to bumrush me. 🤣
She is really so sweet and speak nicely to customer ...even she observed that her customer lady is not looking rich but she dealt with her with high professionalism.

yep this happens often if you walk into high end designer stores or jewellery stores. They will all look you down to see if you are worth their time. I don't see the point of buying from a store or brand that is disrespectful 🤷♀️
This happened to me when I was relatively new to retail. My co-workers asked me why I was bothering to help the family that came in looking poor. They ended up buying like 6 pairs of shoes and 4 bags.
That is so kind of you. Some people prefer to dress in a relaxed non descript manner during their leisure hours. They don't prefer to draw attention and pandering.
I was at Lord and Taylor purse shopping, My sister and niece. I found two I liked and proceeded to check out. The sales clerk said “you know these are $179 each don’t you?” My sister quickly responded with “You know you work at Lord & Taylor don’t you?”

The sales associates all stood by smiling and talking with each other. I was hoping they would offer me some assistance. Anyway I went straight to the couches I wanted to buy and sat down. A nice young lady came up to me and offered to help. When she asked how I was going to pay I said cash. She was so excited about the sale. As I was leaving I walked past the sales associates standing by the entrance again. I politely smiled while opening the door. Fast forward a few months after that day... I walked into the same furniture store and all the sales associates came at me like piranhas. They remembered me and wanted to help me this time.

Hello Anita, How are you doing?

He was rude, indifferent, steered us toward the $150k+ cars. We left. We went down the road and bought a gorgeous Volvo….loaded……$73k, they treated us well.
Apparently, $80k doesn’t warrant any respect in a Mercedes dealership.
This is reality!!!! you really can't judge someone. this show is an example of we must treat each other equally!
Awesome! You are good!

May I ask what town the dealership was in? Curious because I know the area.
Louis Vuitton store in London are snobs too. Dior super lovely 🥰
It happens to me all the time. I show up in shorts, T-shirt and a hat, while the sales reps are all dressed up in suits looking down on me. When the time comes and I buy stuff they can never afford, they lose their cool and choke. Haha.
😃

Nice one. I liked this episode. Wud love to watch this series
@@seemajoshi31 im sorry, can you tell me the title is?
She doesn't look poor, just simple and humble..
Reminds me of my mum many years ago when she was still around. We went to the market (not dressing up, of course! ) with those food trolley stuffed with all sort of vegetables n fruits then walked pass a branded shoes store. She being a shoes fetish insisted of going in to just ‘take a look’. It was obvious we were not welcomed, it took a really long time b4 we could get the right size of her shoes, whilst some late comers were getting theirs b4 us. No one wanted to assist except 1 kind soul, squatting down helping my mum. We ended up leaving the store with the same design of shoes in all 5 different colours, n of course a £200 over tip for that kind young gal!
Same with my mom we were looking to buy a phone for my brother.. the sales lady on the store we went to doesn't entertain us well and so rude to us that's why we went to the other opposite store a bought five expensive phone's and we really showed it to her face hahahahahaha because my mom was really mad and we ended up all having new phone's.
The most amazing thing about this video is the calm human respect given to the customer from the store Clark regardless of riches, And that speaks volumes than any money she has in her bank account.
Yes! That struck me, too. I kind of missed the point of the ending because I was watching on my phone (I don't usually). so I need to watch again.
You don't imagine this is real, do you? Look at the multiple camera angles. This is a very elaborate film shoot.

@@LakeConstan HAHA,yeah, I picked that up staright away too.Take off from Pretty Woman!
I disagree. They showed her contempt. It was she that turned the tables.

Anyone can tell what is the title of this Drama?
This happened to me years ago while buying furniture for my new home. I walked into Star Furniture and was greeted by the store manager at the entrance. I didn't care for their dining furniture sets so I left. I took my business to Rooms to Go that day and bought the most beautiful dining set. 😊🦋
Prop to that nice young lady
I went to a furniture store, bought a whole bedroom set and when I got home Visa called to say my card had been used fraudulently.I said it was me & asked how this happened and they said the furniture store called it in. They didn’t even believe me after I paid! This has happened to me other times as well.
Indeed 😊😇
That's right!!!!!!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Falou tudo!
