    I have a 2003 and received the P128 code, thought is was the thermostat so I replaced it then clear the code but came back on again. After watching your video I am going to do the ECT sensor next. Should have started with the ECT sensor 1st, you live and you learn...

      Let us know if it fixes your issue. The reason I replaced this was because the car had the radiator and thermostat changed in the past 15k miles, so I went to the sensor. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to subscribe.

      @@swavye In my case it did fix it. The reason I replaced that part was because it was a top fix for the code and the radiator and thermostat were fairly new. Hope this helps and keep watching, commenting, and don't forget to subscribe.

    great video , do i need to worry about bleeding air out of the cooling system after this ?

    • @RobertsVideoMachine
      @RobertsVideoMachine  Рік тому

      I would say to always try and bleed out the air in the cooling system after working on anything touching the antifreeze. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to subscribe.

    Hi ! I have a 2002 LX 4 door, with PO141, in this case downstream O2 sensor. Any recommendations where I can find the correct part ?

    • @RobertsVideoMachine

      This best place if you want professional advice is the Honda dealership, but since it's 22 years old they may not have the parts available. You can check AutoZone, Advance Auto, O'Reilly Auto Parts, NAPA Auto, or online auto parts stores. These places always have aftermarket stuff, but again, since it's 22 years old you may have to special order it. I hope this helps. Quick question. I recently changed what i believe was the coolant temp sensor on my 01 civic lx however the one i changed was by the thermostat housing. I do have the sensor shown in this video as well. What is the difference between the 2 sensors. Im having an overheating issue as well

    • @RobertsVideoMachine
      @RobertsVideoMachine  5 місяців тому

      I'm not sure and I can't check since I already sold the car. I do remember my old 1991 Ford Mustang having several temperature sensors. I recall having to replace one-by-one depending on what the local mechanic diagnostics came back with. I never had to replace the same one twice, so this Honda Civic could be similar. Hopefully someone can chime in and let us know. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to like and subscribe.

    does it affect the car to not run again after its hot and parked for a bit ???

      @RobertsVideoMachine  10 місяців тому

      @eddghawi2647 I didn't have a problem with the car not running. I just had the check engine light on and needed it fixed for the smog test, or possible overheating. Thanks for watching and don't forget to like and subscribe.

    My civic has intermittent not starting when hot - it tries to turn over still but it never actually ignites/turns on.
    I replaced that sensor before and it seemingly fixed the issue for about a month. Now the issue has started again and also seems to not start if it’s very cold outside.
    I tried replacing it a 2nd time but forgot to disconnect battery. I disconnected for about 5 min after I replaced it and it still won’t start. Do you think this could have been and still is the issue? Or was it just dumb luck before?

    • @RobertsVideoMachine
      @RobertsVideoMachine  2 роки тому +1

      It's always best to have an OBD2 scanner/code reader to see if there are any codes or the check engine light showing up on the console. In my experience, I was getting a check engine light with the P0128 code. Replacing the ECT sensor was one of the top fixes for this code. Let us know what you discover, so that we may all learn from your experience. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to subscribe.

      @@RobertsVideoMachine there’s no engine code at all - no check engine light. My wife and I are hoping maybe it’ll start and we can take it to a mechanic family friend

    • @RobertsVideoMachine
      @RobertsVideoMachine  2 роки тому

      Hopefully others can provide their experiences as well, but it's my understanding that a defective ECT Sensor would cause the check engine light to come on and throw an OBD2 error code as well. I hope you can get it checked out but keep us informed as well. Good luck.

    My car runs like shit and the fans stay on, when I unplug this sensor with car running all misfires go away, it must be sending a faulty signal I'm guessing? Yet the gauge reads rite. Im lost

      Scan the car with an OBD2 reader/scanner and see what codes come back. I hope you figure it out and let us know. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to subscribe.

    Good but I wanted to know how to actually do it... Like how much force to put on it when installing the new piece 🧩 I saw this video and I broke it 😅

    • @RobertsVideoMachine
      @RobertsVideoMachine  7 місяців тому

      I'm not sure exactly how much force should be applied, but a good rule of thumb is to never over tighten. Maybe someone on this thread can chime in with the exact force. I always just make sure it's not loose and rarely over tighten. Thanks for watching, commenting, and don't forget to like and subscribe.
