- My initial thoughts for My Lady Jane are as chaotic as the show--though maybe not as successfully--but here they are. I'm not as articulate on some parts as I thought, but it's a start. Have you watched? Have you read the book?

35:31 I believe Mary Queen of Scots is mentioned in the show during an interaction between Archer and Susannah with Archer saying that Mary is inviting Ethians to Scotland to take over England?🙌
It’ll be nice if we do get introduced to Mary in the second season of the show with this being her goal and possibly helping out the gang to take over MARY I🎉
Oh absolutely! We just don’t jaunt on over to the French court. I do believe if we bring Mary into it we’d need to age her up (which would the least of changes really) but that could be an easy shift out of any Season 2 into a more Mary focused plotline. I’m also always interested in how Elizabeth/Mary interactions are framed since they never met to everything I’ve read.
I believe the Seymour portrayed here is Edward Seymour, so Thomas’ brother. They refer to Catherine Grey flirting with his son, and Catherine in history got married to Edward’s son. I mix up my Seymour’s as well so I checked out the connection when I looked into Catherine Grey a while back.

Oh, I loved the Royal diaries too! I wish they would adapt those... I know they did a couple of them but they are hard to find. I was a big Tudor fiction fan in my teen years as well so i will read this and watch it as well. Thanks for your review!
Yes I’ve seen clips of an Elizabeth one but have never seen the whole thing! And I don’t know what other Royal diaries they adapted.
I adored this series, and I’ve read the book, but years ago so I only remember the rough outline so this is perfect.
I love how the songs on the show are almost all female covers, the soundtrack is so good
I have to watch good girls guide to murder next, but I remember that plot a lot better
I love, love the soundtrack. And the female covers may be doing the work I was expecting from the narrator too. I may need to sit with that piece a little more.
I missed out on Good Girls Guide to Murder when it came out so I didn’t have this on my radar either; good to know!

Oh I remember it was huge! I just kind of missed the train on YA thrillers at the time (I think I was burnt out from the Girl on the Train era as a bookseller); I should probably swing back

I don't know how, but the promotional material for this show made me almost not give it a chance.
They really underestimated how on board the general public would be for an absurd shifter plotline that’s for sure.
