This breaks my heart. Din gave up Grogu and got kicked out of the creed as a result all because of a stupid helmet. Worth ;(

In front of the living thing. In the 1st season, Mando told that to the Assassin droid. You can take it off when you are alone.

Mando's redemption will probably be the main content of Season 3. Plus, he will meet many characters and places on his way, as well as to struggle deciding his side: Bo Katan or The Armorer's clan?
Mandalorians in Star Wars lore are not forced to wear their helmets all the time like this clan. You are a Mando based on your warrior lifestyle not a helmet.
@@AndreNitroX This is the way.
I really want like a civil war type season where Din is seeking to aid both clans and shape the future of the mandos and try to restore peace, in the end becoming a leader
@@AndreNitroX well there are many interpretations of Mandalorian culture. It's like religion, a sect of Christianity can be vastly different from another one.
I feel like mando deserves to still call himself one despite unmasking but I think the logic is "you are a non mandalorian who has been taken in by mandalore, you wear this helmet so you represent mandalore, you take it off, you're a civilian again"
The question is: Will he reunite with his clan by finding atonement in the waters of life under the mines of Mandalore, or will he unite the clans of Mandalore by showing them that they can be united in their differences and the old rules don't matter as much as unity?
I don’t see why he couldn’t do both
Bo Katan had her chance to rule using "The new ways"and from what we have heard, she did a pretty terrible job of it.
I am all for the Deathwatch returning to power. The galaxy would be more interesting that way.
@@Mikallein death watch doesn't exist anymore whats left of it is Bo but then its not the same anymore

Even more reason to love Din Djarin is that he is an honest man and always tells the truth.
If he has to take the journey of redemption then I hope that’s what we’ll see in The Mandalorian season 3 and he will prove himself to be a *TRUE Mandalorian* when he completes the journey.
Even then, he will prove himself more than worthy to lead, hold and wield the Darksaber and lead all Mandalorians who stand by him.
He will eventually earn the title of MANDALORE. which is what boba achieved in legends
Yes totally agreed. He could’ve lied but he didn’t. Already he is worthier than most. Friend of jedi and Mandos and sand people alike.
I don't think he will always tell the truth he is honest to his clan alone. But he will probably treat random people differently.
@@madelinegarber7860 and Boba Fett.
@@Asupernaruto1 true. And he owes him a favor anyway. But I still think it’s quite a flex to say you’re on friendly terms with a crime lord/feared bounty hunter and a master assassin you once tried to capture.
Yeah he had it coming by breaking the only rule of the creed that adopted him. At least Djin had the courage to tell the truth and walk away accepting his punishment like a man.

The Armorer has the balls to expell a third of her clan.
@@pdc4930 lol
@@pdc4930 hahaha lol
ok, but if she hadn't asked, he wouldn't have said it ... this seems very hypocritical to me.
Armourer: Then you are no longer a Mandalorian
Boba Fett: Never said I was....
The Armorer: Then you are a Mandalorian no more, I believe what she says here has a double meaning. In accordance with the beliefs he was taught, by removing his helmet he forfeited his title as a Mandalorian and what's left of their ways according to the Children of the Watch. But this doesn't mean he cannot BE one, he forges his own path now.
Possibly. Then again they have stated that there is in fact a way back for him. Which may become the focus of Season 3. The problem with him charting his own path is that he no longer has access to Mandalorian resources. Which means he's no longer going to be able to replace his whistling birds or his armour or have access to the Coverts. None of these is an issue now but it will come back to bite him in the arse later. Moreover Paz Vizla could become more of a problem than he already is if he tries to take the Dark Sabre again. Which he will. Moreover? it won't be in a one-on- one duel next time.
@@theo-jamesmoulton2000 it's also his identity even with its strict rules all flaws it's all he's known and even after breaking the rules we see in this episode that he still follows the rules to his best ability and only broke them to save a foundling and show him what he looked like, they rescued him and raised him I'm not sure if would abandon that
@@chrisquinn3377 He still believes in the ways of his group, I don't think he would give that up.
By their rules he is the rightful ruler of mandalore though, since he won the Dark saber in combat. Twice now basically.
He didn't forfeit his right to be a Mandalorian. The clan that he grew up in was an extremist cult and not a modern day Mandalorian tribe so he's still a Mandalorian technically, as long as the others accept him, such as Bo-Katan Kryze and her gang and they do.
>>> She knew. She was giving him the out he wanted.
Knew or suspected. She was basically like you can do this water thing if you want, but you can also find your own path.
Shes always had a soft spot for him i would say so basically yeah your comment just made me think maybe she really knew
Yeah. It separates them and stops Paz killing him out of revenge or jealousy. She knows Paz isn’t Worthy now. But there’s no point losing either of them when her entire aim is rebuilding mandalore.
Paz is basically her lapdog anyway. She can keep him busy indefinitely if necessary. Having him around the cult would only cause problems anyway now he has the darksabre.
I 100% believe this. She knew that he did at some point because of the situations he had been in. I think she really wanted him to lie here. But I also think she knew he wouldn’t.
It’s funny how immediately after he loses his mandalorian status he has to remove all his weapons to get on the bus and cant use the religion excuse 🤣
I mean that excuse never Actually worked.

Armourer: Then you are a Mandalorian, no more.
Din: I don’t need to be a Mandalorian, I’ll just be the Mandalore.
"But I have the darksaber, I'm the rules now!" -reverse Uno card.
The Mandalone
Din is a good man but by all definitions a Dar'Manda. An honorless Mandalorian castaway. Reasons, why he broke his vow or circumstances surrounding his actions, are not important in the eyes of the Mandalore and its people. But if Din succeeds in his quest to take a bath, then he will be the firstborn son of the new Mandalore and could lay claim to the whole world with the blade in his hand essentially forming his own rules and ways for the clans to follow. Unless of course, the clans decide to challenge him.
I feel like The Armorsmith has been grooming him for that part kind of like Palpatine groomed Anakin to finally take his side. She is very lenient towards Din and more affectionate. Its like she sees Din as the chosen one of her people. Giving him the necessary tools and knowledge to take their world back.
If he was, he'd only be a Dar'Manda in the eyes of the Children of the Watch. The Way isn't all encompassing as it once was, so most Mandalorians would hardly bat an eye at the removal of his helmet... or most of what he's done, as I'd argue he has more honour in his conduct than most.
Din's quest is to have a bath, how can Star Wars fans relate to him now
@@OblivionZer0 Dar'Manda is a universal title. If Din is to be honorable he would have to admit to it if he were to be accepted by other clans. And if he admits to being a Dar'Manda, than any other potential clan would be dishonoring themselves by accepting a cast away. Emidietly being stripped away of their station and position in the Mando society and culture. As a Dar'Manda he's not even allowed to create his own clan.
Yes exactly to both things. She knows his past and sees his potential. He did break the creed so she had no choice but to cast him out. But at the same time she was like you don’t really need us anymore. Go be reborn as the first son of Mandalor and find your path. As you said Din is a good man and has plenty of allies to help guide him along the way. He’ll be ok. I bet him coming out of those mines like I’m the ruler of Mandalor now is gonna cause so many chills. Like Gandalf being revealed as Gandalf the white.
@@OblivionZer0 agreed. His actions speak louder than words. And because of that he’ll forever have my respect.
Bruh he owns the darksaber, he can make whatever rules he wants.
One of those cases of "I can't be in your club? Fine I'll make my own, and we have cookies".
Yeah, so is he still the leader of mandalore and stuff? I don't see how she would have the right to tell him he isn't mandalorian anymore if he is the rightful ruler
So... the plot of South Park The Stick of Truth, huh?
@@theomann1534 rules apply to leaders too, that's how. Besides having the Darksaber doesn't automatically make you the Mandalore, you still have to at least claim the title I'd say, and Mando has made it clear he "don't want it" like Jon Snow. Now that I think about it Bo-katan is "his Queen", at least in the season finale they had a very similar moment xD
“Then you are a Mandalorian no more.”
She said that with her whole chest to the one guy in the galaxy with a rightful claim to the Mandalorian throne.
Mando will be always known as a true Mandalorian

@@Jonatron101 that's not the way. She said 5 minutes ago only people worthy of the dark saber may win it in combat. Mando having it is a curse. Mando not being Mandalorian makes him unworthy

Yes, to the children to the watch who are extremists therefore they're opinion if you are mandalorian dosent matter. but it will to Din
okay, imagine this, Din tries to redeem himself in season 3, realizes it’s pointless, becomes Mand’alor since he already got the saber
And trains the darksaber with LUKE AND GROGU 😍
Suffering from success
Lucasfilm: Oh look at the time, it's subverting expectations-o' clock.
Bro Mando has a serious luxury of having some great slow burning character development, physical upgrades, ship upgrades, weapon upgrades, and importance in a technically unseen era of Star Wars. What a bro!
Very nice touch with the "Don't be afraid" line from Din. Gives a little insight into his thoughts before speaking the truth
Thanks!
I still love when Mando has to take off his helmet for his disguise the other guy just goes. "I never saw your face" and gives his helmet back made me gain respect for that guy
What's funny about the Armorer is her insistence on perfection, but the reality of the situation doesn't reflect anythingother than failure. Without Mando they are a tribe of two people, that no one else likes. The armorer and the big dude, who can't fight, are going to have to loosen up on their stupid requirements, if they actually want a successful tribe.
I would have replied to her, "Have you ever removed your helmet?" bullsh@t with, "Does anyone actually like you? Cuz your lil' mando haters club isn't exactly killing it with new subs...."
Such a great episode from this head scratcher of a season.
Head scratcher is right. Book of Boba Fett has been all over the place so far. I really don't know what to think of it. If the rest of the episodes are basically Mandalorian season 2.5 then I'm fine with that. I think Din Djarin is a more interesting character anyways.
Well, he’s still a a Mandalorian. He’s just not part of a cult anymore
He removed his helmet. Like a bantha.
Respect to him for not trying to lie. It takes a lot of maturity to admit to something like that.
buuuuuut... I get the feeling that the armorer already knew the answer before she even asked the question. If you've ever talked to a good priest/religious-leader, you know that they can tell when something's off.
Loved this edit! It made that scene feel so much more meaningful and emotional. 😢

Seeing as the BoBF has been quite heavy on flashbacks, it really surprised me that this scene wasn't like in your video. The long silent treatment fit the scene and Din's temperament, but it would have been a nice touch to include the clips you did 😄
thanks man! appreciate it
They haven’t shown any flashbacks of moments we’ve already seen though. It’s all been backstory to the things we saw.
It would give a bit more context for people who haven't seen The Mandalorian before BoBF
@@GrndAdmiralThrawn not exactly, boba's final flashback showed him taking over the palace from the mandalorian and another flashback showed him loosing his father on Geonosis from Attack of the Clones
This makes the scene so much more meaningful
Let's just say this is an episode of the mandalorian. The stuff that is the best about that show is when he interacts with other mandalorians, which is why this is the best episode of the mandalorian.

Wow this plus the music hit me right in the feels. I think him trying to redeem himself not only in the armorer’s eyes but in his own will be a big part of the next season. Also him trying to find his own path as a Mandalorion. Another comment I saw said that he would not only be trying to redeem himself, but in the process grow into his role as wielder of the dark saber.

What hurts me is that nobody ever saw his face but a droid… an assassin droid that I really liked as well. This show is great!
absolutely amazing
When she started asking this I literally screamed oh f***
You forgot the part where IG removed it to heal him
But she didn't ask if someone removed his helmet
It doesn’t count cause droids aren’t technically living organic beings.
@@mateo10734 And the droid was incinerated anyway
Droids aren't people. We know that they are sentient beings that totally count as people, but very few in the Star Wars Galaxy see it that way. He'd be the one person that didn't matter at all. Having a medical droid take your helmet off to treat a head wound while no one else watches is most likely totally fine.
She will when he's back from the mines of Mandalor
You did a brilliant job with the editing on this. Also cool detail - as soon as the Armorer starts asking Paz Vizsla the helmet question, Din Djarin starts shaking. He knows he's about to lose his family, and he's dreading the moment it's asked to him. Brilliant acting.
didn't notice that until now. Thanks for that! really appreciate it!
The Creed is broken. On purpose.
He had to remove his helmet for the scanner, so he could rescue his Foundling.
Had he not rescued Grogu, he would have failed the Creed.
He took off his helmet in the presence of Enemies, he failed the Creed.
No matter what he did, he would fail the Creed.
The Armorer cast out Din Djarin not because he took off his helmet, but because Din didn't make a good argument for the necessity of his actions!
He meekly accepted Judgement, rather than fight passionately for his decision.
This is why the Dark Saber doesn't 'listen' to Din Djarin...he hasn't found his 'voice' yet!
He didn't make an argument for it because it wouldn't have made any difference. Their rules are absolute.
I like how Din Djarin honest abt it
Well, it's not about the mistakes you make, but about how you redeem yourself!
Can't wait to see it
That said, Din Djarin is a role model for how to act when you were wrong
He left that cult easier than how people leave Jehovah’s Witness
Din djarin has made me love star wars again. Which is pretty crazy because since I was a teenager I've been into grim darkness Sci fi wise.
Good for you!
I think Din was in the right, here. He did it for the kid, someone who is his family. Given the situation, he made the right call.

Nah, can't take credit for that, all I did was add some blurs and some audio manipulation. Gotta give credit to Dave and Jon and Bryce for creating such a FULL episode. and honestly the pauses gives lets the audience think for themselves on what Din Djarin is feeling in that scene. Creates a lot of room for creativity for the audience

I think Season 3 (and parts of Book of Boba) will finally be when Din Djarin figures out that a Mandalorian isn’t someone who’s taken archaic vows, or born on a certain planet, or comes from a Mandalorian clan. They’re great warriors, across the galaxy, of any species. Wearing the armor just makes it more official. He’s met truer Mandalorians multiple times in his travels and doesn’t even know it.
If he’s not a mandalorian anymore, season 3 should be called Din Djarren
I think secretly she know to much... because it's pointless to ask that in that moment.
This is underrated

All I want is for mando to fight a mythisuar on mandalor when he goes to restore himself
It was all for love
I'm pretty sure that he will leave this old Mandalorian tribe and join Bo Katan. In the end he would always choose what's best for Grogu
Great edit!
Paz lied.
Din feels the force as he practices with the dark saber
Din becomes Jedi-ish with Grogu & Luke
Din discovers dormant Mythosaur eggs when he goes to the waters in the mines of Mandalor - father of dragons
Ah fuck. Not another Dany storyline...
I don't want to see him "redeem himself" with this sect. He is STILL a Mandalorian. He can join the Nite Owls (where they CAN take off their helmets) or he can establish his own sect. He doesn't need these two.
I do think Din Djarin will one day be Mandalore because he is the most humble and deserving imo. Then down the line it will be Jedi Master Grogu who will take up the mantle.
i mean its either him or chunky vizla
I just thought of something crazy. Din was casted out of the mandalorians for breaking their rules, then grogu is gonna be kicked out of being a Jedi for their rules, maybe they both will find their way to them nonetheless in season 3. Maybe those rules and some counter to them will be the theme.
pretty sure they'll drop grogu off with mando instead of just ditching him lol
Time to cry
Well that means he doesn't have to wear it all the time now
thats what i thought
He had the dark saber he could've just said no u
armorer: did you remove your helmet?
mando: yes.
armorer: then you are mandolorian no more
mando: i AM still a mandalorian
armorer: not anymore.
mando: its treason then... *draws dark saber with malicious intent*
Interesting to think how these rules work. The not removing helmet rule seems to be number 1 and doesn’t allow for any nuance. Like are you still out if you remove it to save someone
Cultists don't recognize anything like nuance. The world is strictly black-and-white to them. You're either with them or you're against them.
Extremes of any belief, secular or religious tends to be rigid and unwilling to compromise
I think its less about never taking your helmet off and more about you VOWED never to take it off. Never removing the helm is inconvenient and difficult, and thats the point. It shows that you stick to your word no matter how difficult it may be.
I'm not a mandalorian, I'm a Bantha 😂
I think you can make exceptions armorer….he’s the holder of the darksaber he owns your ppl, pushing him away is really dumb.
yeah kick out 1/3rd of ur creed. great move
I feel like a lot of people miss the part that the children of the watch are extremists in their beliefs, the armorer saying that he isn't a mandalorian anymore doesn't mean shit if everyone else like Bo Katan as example would still see him as one
