Just bought 24 Passport Trailsport 1100 miles so far. Coming from a 22 Tacoma this is so much more comfortable. On a 200 mile trip I am not as tired at the end.
@@surfinginternetzhang9442 I would say it is a smooth ride for what it is. The ride quality is smooth and good for an SUV if compared to the SUV category. It will not feel like a low to the ground sports car or sedan. It will be a little more "truck like" with some yaw left to right on windy uneven roads because it is a high off the ground vehicle. But if compared to its category, it does well.
It's ironic you guys are releasing your 7 day test on your Passport and I am just about to 7 days of ownershp myself on a new 2024 Passport Trailsport. It is so sweet! Keep up the great work guys!
Couldn't agree more, Paul. I use an iPad Pro at home; I don't care to have one tacked onto my dashboard in my vehicle. We love the old-school feel of the. 2024 Passport and purposely wanted to move into one before the anticipated redesign in 2025, which may add more "tech" than we are comfortable with. Beyond that, we are always wary of buying a first-year redesign, preferring to let the manufacturer figure out what went wrong and adjust in year 2+. The V6 time-tested J-engine is and 9-speed transmission is bulletproof and, we wanted the confidence of having that combo as well.
This is why I'm getting a 2024 Trailsport...I much prefer the size and dash integration of that screen that the screen that is massive and sticks up over the dash like most other models.
For most things, Honda did a very good job on the Passport.. But Honda missed an opportunity.. The Ridgeline and Passport are very similar.. But yet the Honda Ridgeline got a better transmission and the Pilots better gauge cluster.. Not sure why Honda didn't just give both the better transmission and guage cluster to the Passport.. This would have been much better.. And to further improve things - Honda should have given all - the Ridgeline, Passport and Pilot a regular traditional shifter - instead of that crappy push button shifter that nobody likes..
I’m not seeing anyone buying a 2024 Passport knowing that the 2025 will be a significant redesign/upgrade, unless mid-year incentives kick in, which will probably happen and would need to be very aggressive. I’m especially wanting to see slightly better mpg, a little more hp, and the Pilot tranny. With those improvements, I’ll be very interested.
I had a ‘19 Passport, have a ‘23 Pilot now. I miss the Passport. New engine is weaker, worse MPG by a lot, new transmission has a horrible 1-2 shift and is jumpy, and the handling is like a boat whereas the Passport was quite nimble. I hope there are mid-year incentives, I’ll trade in my Pilot for a Passport again!

I have a 2021 passport Elite and it will outrun every 2023 and 24. O-60 in 5.8. Hopefully it will last me a long time. My 2016 Pilot Elite did have much better mpg. About 23.4 combined vs my Passport at 21.8.
I went ahead and put a security deposit on a 2024 Passport Trailsport last week. While I am very excited to take delivery I was a bit disappointed to find that the oil pan skid plate is an extra accessory. I am planning to bolt a Lo Pro skid plate on it at some point anyway. I know that I should wait for a redesign but this powertrain and platform is solid and it offers the options I want right now.
We just bought the 2024 trailsport and agree about the skid plate. We inquired but said was on backorder so not sure when will get. I also with the trailer hitch was standard on this model..does not make sense is not.
Thanks to your YT reviews I am learning so much. Was underwhelmed by the in person experience of the CRV at the dealer yesterday. The Elements was perfect for us 20 years ago when we were in our late 40's exploring the US with our dogs. Now entering our 70's and the CRV is too "manual". I couldn't pull the rear seat back up after reclining it slightly. The Pilot is too much car for just the 2 of us. Now eager to explore the Passports features so will return to the dealer. What other cars from other manufacturers are in competition with Passport's dimensions?
Wonder if the 2025 will have the updated software for infotainment. Will y'all be doing an update video for 2025 changes? I hope so! Happy subscriber here! Keep the videos coming. So helpful.
I am enjoying your videos. You may have cost Hyundai a Santa Fe sale, but that's okay. They will get it ironed out. I especially like your sound level ratings. That is very important to me. My Highlander has always been very quiet. I do have a question, though. When you are testing the sound levels, why don't you close the cover on the sunroof? On my Accord Hybrid it always seems a lot louder with the sunroof cover open. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! We always have the sunshades open because that is where we mount our camera from. Sunshades are generally so thin these days that it does not make a meaningful difference in our testing
Love its power and size, and that excellent rear torque vectoring differential. The new interior is an improvement, but the infotainment system is still lacking. Appreciate the review. Happy holidays!
It’s not very often you guys miss something you’re pretty thorough and accurate. However, after years of watching, I found a mistake the black edition does have rear climate control because I just traded in my 23 sport pilot for the old school passport, black edition, Mr. VTEC motor it is a little slower under 3500 RPMs, not quite as refined or rigid. There’s nothing like the pass power on the VTEC motor I went backwards in the sense got fully loaded.
I own the 2025 blue version of this vehicle in Canada. Glad I purchased it no stupid oversized screens and no buzzy 4 cylinder turbocharged engine. I also own 2 mini coopers a convertible and a copper s paceman 2lt turbo all 4 and this Honda is put together way better than those cars it’s not even close. Not that the minis aren’t fun they are just bumpy and noisy on the road.
I'm considering either a 24 or 23 Passport as my next vehicle (still some 23's around) and, like your wife, I prefer the idea of the flat center console. I'm a woman who carries a purse with me at all times if driving, and comparing the two, flat center console in the 23 is what I also prefer. It looks deep enough to hold a good size purse or is flat enough to rest a purse on easily. I actually prefer the minivan style drop down armrests being only 5'3" so that I can set them to fit my shorter arms and torso. I wish car mfg would provide more options for convenient purse storage for women other than the passenger seat. That is the one thing I still like with my 2011 Sienna, with the shifter on the dash, the center console is similarly wide and flat plus there is floor space in front of it for a purse. Purse space might be why she prefers as well?
Great review-thank you! I understand that the Black Edition is the only trim level with acoustic glass on the windshield and both the driver and passenger door windows. If this is true, and factoring in the 20" seasonal tires, vs. the 18" all-terrain tires on this model, I'd be interested in your thoughts on how this will impact the dba within the cabin compared to the trim tested in this video,
Thanks! Typically both those items do have impacts on the dB sound level readings but the only way to know for sure is to test it out. Hopefully we will be able to soon 👍
holly cow the prices of these have skyrocketed. i remember buying my brand new 2019 passport sport FWD for 27,500, well 33K with TTL and interest charges.
I love my 22 exl with the great cargo space, comfortable seats and great hp. I dislike the arm rests and wish I could get the new console. Oh well it’s a great vehicle

Those tires especially around 20:00 seem to emit a high pitch howl. Was that noticeable in-person? The General Grabber ATX on my Ranger Tremor are quite loud and do the same thing from 35 mph up to about 75 mph. Very annoying….
Someone on a different channel review said the the rails on the roof made that sound, but quit when they adjusted the position of the side rails. Could that be what you were hearing?
The Trailsport tires are not true "All Terrain." They have some additional side rubber to look "tractiony" but it's only cosmetic. The tread itself is just all-season.
I drove the same CR-V for over 10 years and wanted to stay in a Honda product. I remember getting into a Passport and the interior seemed anachronistic. It seemed intentionally past-gen, which is great if they're sticking with what works and not making changes to sell newer models. That odd new-wine-in-old-wineskin was no more evident in the push-start button and the foot-pedal parking break. That was a little too steampunk for me.
I own a Honda passport with the HPD package 2023 EXL and I sincerely can said, it is a piece of junk, the suspension is so stiff every time I get out of the vehicle I have a headache, I personally don’t recommend this vehicle to any anyone get a CRV or get a pilot but not a passport.
