some tips ive learned from solo-traveling: - Accommodations: if you're slow traveling (spending more than a week in a place), the accommodations become even more important because you'll likely spend more time in it. Identify the 3 most important qualities a space must have to help you feel like it could be your home for that time period, and go from there. Depending on your goals, being open to unique spaces (cabins, boat houses, tree houses, tiny homes), they can also make the experience extremely memorable. - Meeting people: Sometimes, I'll rent a room or guest house with a host who seems to have similar interests of mine. A lot of hosts tend to enjoy connecting with people and sometimes have no issue inviting you to places or connecting you to other locals. Airbnb experiences are also a great way of connecting with other travelers. And if you're booking a room at hostels or bnb's, there's ALWAYS people around.
This video is such amazing timing!! I recently went to an event alone for the first time, and I was so scared at first, but after a being there for half an hour or so, the peace I felt just being on my own was so amazing. I’ve always wanted to try solo travel, and I think going to that event alone was the first of many steps🤍🤍 Love your videos Cam, they’re so nice and calming! :)
Yess the peace!! I felt this after I went to a festival by myself and I remember being on my way home and feeling this expansive sense of 'wow I can really do things alone!!'. Such an empowering and exciting thing to feel. It's so fun seeing where our decisions lead us to!
I dream of going away for a month on my own to get to know myself, rediscover myself and take time for myself. I've never really been alone and I feel that life goes so fast that I don't have time to breathe and understand what's going wrong and what I need. I've been thinking about moving to Bali next year for my birthday month, as long as I still have my freelance job and can work from anywhere, that would be ideal for me.
Solo trips for birthdays is a big yes. I think a month in Bali would open up time and space for you to get to know yourself on a deeper level. It's so easy to get swept away in the pace of living but a solo trip can help you get more aligned with yourself and you notice what's really important to you. I hope everything works out for you to take the trip. Sending love x
I've been looking for a video like this. Most travel tip videos are very vague but this video answered a lot of questions that I had and comforted me and gave me a gentle nudge to not allow the fear of the unfamiliar to dampen my dream to travel. Thank you Cam for making this video ❤❤
This comment feels warm. Thank you! So much lays on the other side of our common (and understandable) fear of the unfamiliar and unknown. I am excited for where your dreams to travel take you in the future x
realizing that solo travel is definitely a fantasy of mine so it was so nice to watch this and daydream about it!! can’t wait for it to be reality. thanks so much for providing some info on what goes into it 💗 im in nyc so i think one day in the future i’ll start small and go to nature in upstate new york. but i think the ultimate juiciest fantasy is a trip to a outdoor hot spring situation of some sort- maybe a private onsen in nature in japan one day but i’ll go where ever has that !!! 🤭💗
Serving as a portal for another's daydream is my purpose fulfilled. Omg I'm so with you on the private onsen in nature in Japan!! That's a dream of mine too.
Love these tips! I lately started solo traveling around the US, and currently saving up to go internationally. Solo trips feel amazing because you can create your own schedule and move at your own pace, i do want try more Airbnbs than hotels. Do you have any more tips on this???
i love this video, i sooo want to take myself to mallorca for a solo holiday (just 7 nights to start me off) but i just can't seem to press the Book It button, i am in my own way! arrghh your vids inspire tho, thank you
I'm 39 years old and have just been fired. What options do I have for a consistent source of income now that I have $425K saved for an early retirement at age 50, $10K in an HSA, and a property that could provide an additional $200K?
I’m unsure weather to find another job or merge all my investment accounts into one. If I do, how should I handle it, and are there any potential drawbacks? I also plan to sell my property, which could add $200K over time. Should I consolidate my investments into a single account or spread them across various markets?
These are key questions for a financial planner. I connected with mine at a summit, and with her help, my wife and I reallocated our 1.7M portfolio between a traditional IRA and brokerage account. She’s been managing the investment with our approval and has helped us recover twice our losses. Currently hodl’ing steady and cautiously navigating the market
i just saw Hitomi Mochizuki's video and now i wanna go to Switzerland

It’s reasonable to consider getting a financial advisor now, but delaying retirement might be a wiser choice

That’s impressive! My portfolio has been struggling. Who is your advisor?
Leah Foster Alderman. Look her up online, she's well-known
come visit in Japan🥺
